Samsung LN46A650 46-Inch 1080p 120Hz LCD HDTV with RED Touch of Color
Pros:
* Jaw-dropping picture quality. Try watching a Blu-ray movie on this set and you will understand what I mean. Incredible details, super rich colors and deep blacks. Even in the standard settings the picture is awesome.
* HD channels looks great.
* Light (49.2 pounds). You can easily move it around on your own without breaking your back.
* The red frame is subtle, cool and really adds a nice touch.
* 120-hz refresh rate is great for watching fast action scenes and PS3 games too.
* 4 HDMI inputs. Very useful when you have separate HDMI components.
* Even with it's glossy screen there's no problem with glare and reflections in a light-abundant room.
* Good sound quality thanks to TruSurround feature. It can really improve the sound quality if you only use two speaker systems.
Cons:
* Poor remote control design. No big deal unless you collect remote controls as a hobby.
* No composite video or S-video port on the back.
Panasonic Viera TH-46PZ85U 46-Inch 1080p Plasma HDTV
Pros:
* Amazing picture quality. Blu-ray and HD channels looks fantastic and SD channels looks good too.
* Great contrast. The black levels is astounding.
* Very good color rendering. False contouring is minimal and typically only with weaker/lower res. signals
* Intuitive and easy to use remote control.
* Lots of inputs.
* Very useful 15 pin PC connection so you can view online movies on it.
* Very few pixelation during fast scenes.
* Excellent built-in tuner.
* Attaching the TV stand is easy and it has a wide and sturdy base.
* The additional inputs are easily accessible but stay hidden on the sides
* The black bezel finish looks nice and overall it's an aesthetically appealing set.
Cons:
* OK sound but for some it is a little thin. Not a problem if you already have separate home theater speakers but if you don't then you should
* Heavy (98 pounds). Typical for a plasma.
* The remote take some time to get used to.
Toshiba REGZA 46RV530U 46-Inch 1080p LCD HDTV
Pros:
* Excellent HD picture quality.
* Good SD quality
* Great sound quality
* Easy to adjust picture and sound.
* The inputs are placed on the side instead of back so there's no problem when you want to use wall mount.
* Hard-to-beat price!
Cons:
* Not Energy Star Compliant
