Question : SamsungA550 52 inch or Samsung A650 46 inch
The A650 is 120hz versus the 60hz A550.They're the same price. Anyone know how much the quality difference will be and if it's negligible to the human eyeWhat about this as a plasma alternative:Samsung PN50A550 50-Inch 1080p Plasma HDTVIt's a hundred bucks more. Keep in mind I'm going to be using this for a monitor, tv and blu ray.

120hz on it's own is not enough to make a significant difference in picture quality When it comes to LCD's, response time is the most important factor in reducing motion blur and contrast ratio is important for picture quality.If you got a Plasma TV you wouldn't have to worry about picture quality Plasma TV's response times are near instant, and their contrast ratio's are the highest in the HDTV world(2,000,000:1 dynamic; 40,000:1 native) Not even the new LED LCD's can match thatIf i was you i would invest in a Panasonic or Samsung Plasma TV If you're dead set on those Samsung LCD's, then get the A650 46" because it has a higher contrast ratio and faster response time

Happy to help. I have a subscription to Consumer Reports and here are the top three LCD tvs.1.Sony Bravia KDL-52XBR4 $40002.Sharp Aquos LC 52D64U $30003.Samsung LN T5281F $4500The ratings on these are virtually the same so I would go with the Sharp and save a grand or so.
