Regza 1080p Full HD LCD

Can't beat it

I've had this TV for nearly a year now and I have absolutely no complaints, except that since I live in the boonies, I can't get the DirecTV HD Satellite so I can't take advantage of that feature. However, the picture is so much better than the one on my old Zenith 27" that I feel as if it is HDTV anyway. Easy setup, flawless performance, bright and sharp picture--and the prices are down now from what they were when I bought it last year. Compare it to the SONY, which has a similar picture quality and it's a no-brainer. Go Toshiba!

Great TV until it dies

I have the same problem many others are having with Toshiba.....Screen goes blank. After I turn it on I briefly see the picture 2 times and then nothing but sound. Many have been fortunate for this to happen before the warranty expires, I did not. Less than a month out of warranty and I now have a dead TV and I agree with the complaints about Toshiba's customer service....I really got the impression that they know this is a problem but really don't care. Save yourself the headache and the waste of money....DO NOT BUY A TOSHIBA!!!! At this point I can not even afford to fix it. It was truly a waste of $900.00

Don't Buy At Any Price!

I don't recommend buying anything from Toshiba. It has been my experience that Toshiba produces a shabby product and treated me in a shabby way, here's why: On January 23, 2008 I purchased a REGZA 32HL67U32" LCD HDTV (predecessor to the current model)for $720. By the last week in March 2009, the main panel failed and I was told by the repair center that the replacement panel would cost $1,900.

I contacted Toshiba and I was told by a customer service supervisor that since the breakdown occurred 15 months after the purchase, they would pay 50% of the replacement part ($950), if I paid the other half, plus labor.

Their offer made no financial sense; first of all, why does a replacement part cost nearly 3 times the amount of the original TV? They had no answer to that question. Secondly, using their logic, they could ship me a new TV and save themselves $230!

It is clear that by using an artificially high replacement part value, they are dodging responsibility for the quality of their product. The TV is a total loss to me after such a short period of time.

I will never do business with Toshiba again!

Getting This Next! I have the 720p and LOVE IT!

If I had a living room this is going in it. I have the 720p & the HD channels are incredible. Can't wait to upgrade & enjoy the 1080p!

Okay product until it broke, poor customer service!

We purchased our TV almost 1 year ago and at first LOVED it. It had good sound, a good picture, and was very user-friendly. But then...

It acted up starting about 6 months in. The video display would go black upon start up and we would have sound but no picture. The problem would correct itself when the TV was power-cycled. More recently, the TV picture went blank and never came back on. We called for a repair since the product was still under warranty and it's been more than a month since it broke and we still do not have a suitable fix!

Now they want to replace the display board - which costs more than the television itself! And...its going to take more than 3 weeks to get the part in and installed!

The broken TV may be a single case out of many good reviews, but the customer service I've been receiving has been horrible. To me its unacceptable that the TV has been out of service for more than a month and I'm still waiting. The good news is that the TV broke while under warranty!

I'd really watch the company you buy the TV from. They are ultimately honoring their warranty, but the customer service is poor and the timining is worse!

Died after 5 months of used.. samsung refuses to replace...

I had this TV for a total of a year and 4 months. I was deployed to Iraq, so this TV was in storage for over a year. When i got it back, it worked great and nothing was wrong with it. 2 Months after I got back, it died and samsung refuses to replace it. The TV got a total use of around 4-5months. Do not buy Samsung products, they refuse to back them up and replace them.

Great, compact TV for a great price!

I purchased this TV second-hand, and I use it as a computer monitor. I do a significant amount of graphic design work, so color reproduction, black levels and clarity are very important to me.

Expect to spend some time playing with the settings if you want anything approximating true colors. At first I thought this was an awful TV/monitor. I spent a couple hours trying to calibrate it and, after being unable to achieve usable results, I almost sold it the next day. It took me a couple more hours of a tinkering to finally get it how it is now, but NOW it is fantastic.

It took a combination of video card settings and monitor settings. While calibrating I ensured I had a high contrast background with lots of dark colors. I played a video with lots of action and facial tones, and kept a color palette up. Then I played with the settings individually, I first got the monitor optimized: sharpness (0), contract (65), brightness(60), color(50), tint (G50/R50), color temperature (Cool2), in Dynamic mode using the "Just Scan" option and none of the stupid gimmicky software filtering they add under picture options. Then moving onto the video card settings I found that I needed to drastically alter the gamma settings to alleviate serious black-bleeding (+1.27). I also had to fool around with individual colors using the automatic monitor setup tool that comes with Nvidia video cards. Obviously, your TV and video card are going to differ from mine, but hopefully this serves as a helpful starting point.

The color reproduction and black levels are almost on par with my IPS and PVA panels that sit to the left and right respectively. Even though this is a TN, it does have very acceptable color reproduction. Now don't get me wrong, you will not want to do any sort of graphic work on this TV, but it looks great for movies, games and general computer use.

It is sufficiently bright with the backlight on level 0 both at night and during the day.

The remote is alright. It's quite ugly, but it's designed with older folks in mind. The buttons are easy to hit and the backlight behind the keys makes it easily usable in a dark room.

The stand is sturdy and looks very nice and clean. The base's rotation works well and stays where placed, it will not rotate on its own.

If you do much switching between resolutions, such as transitioning into a legacy full screen program, the monitor does take a few seconds to catch up. It is much worse than any monitor I've used before, but not a deal-breaker for me at all.

I can truly recommend this product, but be prepared to calibrate!

Super Samsung TV

I really love this tv, crystal clear picture when hooked up to hdmi cable. I read reviews that the sound was not that great, sure it's not home theater, but upstairs in my bedroom I have no complaints with the sound. Startup was simple, and also was hookup. I have it mounted on the wall, and will be reviewing the mount for it as well. I did a lot of research on 32" tvs and came up with this samsung which had high ratings. I also want to add I buy most of my electronics through Amazon and have always been pleased with their prices and services. Shipping was swift and easy to track. Another product I am well pleased with.

A video Review of the TV.

Watch Video Here: http://www.amazon.com/review/R25Q95UB646QBA Please keep in mind this is a general overview . I don't go into details over menu interface, connections, specs, ect. And though the PC connection is a big plus for me I have no tested it yet. So I do not know if HDMI adapters or HDMI/VGA cables are best for this TV.

I will touch on this though, High Def sources are best for this screen. If you own a Wii or anything that can not outsource above 420p do not expect mouth dropping results. The TV does a respectable job buts not what its meant for.

UPDATE. Sep 18th.

The Tv is still running great. I got the chance to hook a PC up to it using a DVI to HDMI cable and the picture was fantastic.

32-Inch 1080P LCD HDTV

A Rare, Killer Deal

I've had my Toshiba for a week now and it is an excellent toy. It looks sleek, has a fantastic HD picture (for 60hz) and all the features I need. It was a snap to hookup my laptop, a Blu-ray player, and the HD cable box to the TV. All connect to the TV using HDMI inputs, through HDMI cables purchased here on Amazon.com. It all works flawlessly. I can watch cable, switch to the laptop to look something up on Wikipedia, then switch again to a DVD.

The picture on HD content is superb. The sound is fine and gets plenty loud. The TV has "regza-link" functionality, which means the remote can control other devices that are regza-link compliant. My simultaneously purchased Toshiba BDX2000 1080p Blu-ray Disc Player is such a device, so I can control it *and* the TV with the TV remote. I like that.

So that's my testimonial toward the quality. The other aspect of my praise goes toward the incredible sense of pride in scoring such an amazing deal. 1080p? $400? And it competes handsomely with more expensive models? Done. Get it - you'll be happy.

This is a steal!!!!

This LCD TV is, for lack of a better word, awesome. Great picture quality, plenty of options, decent sound, light weight and best of all it was only $399.99 delivered free and no tax. What is there to complain about. I felt that this was a steal and would recommend to anyone who needs a 32' LCD to RUN, don't walk and get this one.

Great for a Small Living Room or Bedroom

This TV is great for my studio apartment. The size is perfect and the picture quality is excellent. Two things to keep in mind though. 1st - This is a standard 60hz set so with fast sports there is a bit of motion blur (though not unwatchable) 2nd - The sound quality is a bit lack luster. If you expect to get big time sound out of just the TV itself you may be a little disappointed. Overall I'm very happy with my purchase. At $399 I consider this to be a great deal on a full 1080p HDTV!

Best deal for the money

I am extremely impressed with this set. It came fast and it was very easy to set up. It looks great and the picture quality is great. I shopped around for quite some time before deciding to go with this one. It is for our bedroom so i was not concerned with it being gigantic. It's size is perfect and it having 1080p is the best cause i use Directv and wanted to take full advantage. I've noticed finding a 32" in 1080p is hard and it usually jumps up the price quite a bit. Only 60hz but no biggie cause it's just for our bedroom. Overall I find it to be the best deal I got this year! two thumbs up Toshiba!

Looks great, but a slight noise issue.

We just received this tv today, having purchased it after tons of exhaustive research. Set-up was a cinch, and it looks fantastic. It was also relatively easy to program the remote to work with our DVD player so that we can only use one remote. We are planning to use it with a DVD, a PS2, and a laptop (for streaming netflix), and all of that seems just great--still waiting for our hdmi cord to test the laptop.

The only issue is that the tv emits a buzzing sound when it's on. We were able to trace this sound to the backlight setting, and on "movie" setting it's the lowest (but still quite audible). I called and spoke with a technician who says that this is normal. It's most annoying when the tv is on mute, but we probably won't sit around with it on mute. I may be calling back to see if there is another solution. If so I'll update. Does anyone else have this issue?

Question : I am looking for some type of protein for my 15 yr old son to take to help build muscle mass.
We bought Muscle Milk but I am not sure if this is the way to go. I don not want anything that is harmful to his health and I am clueless in this area. Can someone tell me what we should be doing. He is very atheletic and works out everyday be it on weights or at ball practice. He is all skin and muscle but he needs to get more mass to his muscle before football season.
