Customer Review :

Big dissappointment!

This review is not for this model exactly but the LC-26AD22U which is the equivalent (I think) in the Aquos line. This is my seventh flat screen (LCD or plasma) that I have purchased and the 3 stars are for the picture quality, I took off 2 stars for the poor audio quality. After reading other reviews- I thought - that others might be asking too much from the audio section of a TV that for most it was not going to be the main TV (I bought it for my daughter's room), How bad could it be? .. well, this HDTV has (so far) the worst audio section of any TV I have owned (I have/had Samsung, Hitachi, Sylvania, Dynex, Westinghouse) It is incredible low, thin and "flat" sounding (words of my daughter and spouse). So my advice to others is that if you don't care about the audio quality because you will hook it to an audio system then go for it but if this is a stand alone HDTV and you want a good sounding one then you better skip the brand completely (and least in this size) and check others. I sincerely don't recommend it and I am going to return this one. Thanks for your attention.

What Audio Problem?

I bought this set to hang on the kitchen wall. The convenience of a combined DVD was a major factor in the purchase decision. I'd read the reports criticizing the audio but decided to take a chance and buy it anyway - and I'm glad I did. The audio seems OK to me. Half-volume at 13' away across the other side of the kitchen is more than adequate. Audio quality is also fine. Anywhere near full volume is way too loud. I really don't know what the complaints are about - volume? audio quality? or both? The picture quality is also superb as is often the case with Sharp and the DVD is so user-friendly it's a pleasure to use.

Major defect on this model

After six months of ownership, this TV began turning itself on randomly. The main circuit board was replaced. The TV still turns itself on. (However, the sound is now improved significantly!) We expect to have the TV replaced. No one seems to know why it turns itself on. The circuit board took four months to be delivered after the initial complaint. We were told the part was backordered. Maybe our complaint is a common one?

Cheap, easy sound workaround; Sharp LC-26DV22U

Sharp LC26DV22U 26-inch LCD TV with Built-In DVD Player I too was disgusted with the poor quality/quantity of sound from my new Sharp LC26DV22U TV. So, I pulled the back cover off the set and installed a female 1/8 inch stereo phone jack (Radio Shack part number; 274-0246). I wired it directly to the TV's speakers using bell-wire (from an old telephone cord). Then simply plugged in a PC sound system I had laying around. It works wonderfully and it was easy to do. Just use the wire diagram on the phone jack package and connect to the marked terminals on each speaker of the set. I didn't disconnect the set's speakers, so the TV will still work with or without the PC speaker system plugged in.

Worst TV mistake I made

Have had this set for about two years. The sound quality is horrible. I have to turn it up to the highest level most of the time and still can't hear everything especially if there is any thing else going on. What's the point of having the TV if you can't hear it while you are on an exercise machine or my son is playing on the floor.

Now, the picture turns off for no reason. The screen just goes black like you have turned it off. Not gray, black. Sometimes, it returns to normal after you switch the TV off and on about five times. The sound still stays on though. It drives my 3-year old son crazy especially if he is watching his favorite show.

Whatever you do, spend your money on something else. This TV is not worth the headache. Now if I can just remember if I had gotten the extended warranty.

very nice

This tv with the built in dvd player has a great picture. The only thing is the controls located on the tv are on the top and aren't easy to see which would only be a problem if it's wall mounted. Of course the remote solves that problem so be sure not to lose it!

LONG DELAYS and REMOTE SUX

LONG DELAYS BETW/ CHANNELS:
- 2-SECOND DELAY when pressing channel up/down.
- 4-SECOND DELAY when entering the channel#. Not sure if this is b/c the remote doesn't have an enter button.

REMOTE SUX:
- lacks ENTER button
- lacks a LAST CHANNEL/RETURN button
- sellers should start posting a pic of the remote also!

I thought I could live with the DELAYS, but it was intolerable after a while. I ended up buying a refurb'd Vizio for my room and moved this one down to the kitchen, which was ok since I mounted it to the wall and can watch DVD's there now without any clutter of adding a dvd player.

Sharp 22" LCD TV

I am very pleased with this TV. Picture quality is excellent. Sound is very good for bedroom. Also perfect size for watching from 5' to 10'(22")DVD picture quality is great and plays DVD's that I have recorded from another room. Remote takes a little getting used to. But all in all I'm very pleased.

Good picture over the air with antenna

I had a Vizio and sent it back it kept losing its digital tuner this was before the change over. Sharp has a good name, this one is a little bit bigger and has a DVD player Sharp LC26DV27UT 26-Inch 720p LCD HDTV with Built-in DVD Player, Blackall for the same price I paid for the smaller Vizio. No problems yet had it a year. Only complaint I have is the delay in the channel change plus the remote does not have features like last channel viewed and also does not give you channel information like the Vizio did but then the Vizio didn't work.

Sharp LC22D

We purchased this TV to replace an older analog 20" set on our boat. The picture is outstanding controls are easy and the remote is very simple. We mounted the unit on a bulkhead looks like a custom install. The addvantage for us is its a bigger set better picture and has a built in DVD player and we can now receive a digital signal.

SHARP is always a winner.

All my TV's are Sharps, I have never had a problem with any of them. This one is no exception. I purchased 2 of these as I was replacing the last of my non-flat screens. The picture is "sharp", colors clear and crisp, and easy to use right out of the box. This is my first with a built in DVD player which I decided on to clear off my bureau of electronics and my night table of remotes! It works great. I still think you can't go wrong with a Sharp.

Question : How do I hook up a wii and dvd player to my tv at the same time
I have a Samsung TV and DVD player and just got a wii. Both the wii and DVD player only have red, yellow and white cables. I can only seem to get one to be hooked up correctly. Please help. I have red, blue and green cables that someone else suggested but have no clue how its suppose to work since my there is no blue on the wii or the dvd player.

Answer:
You will need to get a splitter like this one: http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.doproduct_id=11018978 this particular one allows you to plug in three devices with the red, yellow, and white cables, to select the one you want, just press the corresponding button. Just follow the instructions that come with it to connect it to the TV. I have one that I can plug 5 things into, and I have it filled up. I have my DVD player, PS2, PS3, Wii, and N64. You can get these at just about any electronics store.
