Sony KDL-46XBR2 Bravia XBR LCD HDTV

Brilliant
I almost decided to buy a Samsung. My friend recomended this and after a demo I fell in love with this TV. This was replacement for OLD Mitshubisi HD1080 series.
Once I got the TV I hooked up my PS3 and ONKYO home theater and WOW!!! The blu-ray movies are mind blowing. The PS3 games looks almost real like.
There is slight clouding issue as mentioned in several forms but that does not bother me at all. No issues while watching the TV or playing the games.
Two of my friends bought this TV after watching Blu-Ray movies in my setup. That says a lot about this TV.

Your Better Off NOT Buying this.
I purchased mine back in 2007 on December 24th. A Christmas present to myself. By June of 2008, it began to show problems. By September 2009, I have a black hole sitting in my livingroom. To fix it, you have to replace the front panel at a cost of $1080.00. And Sony does not provide you any assistance at all. Your on your own. If you want Sony to replace it, you better buy the extended warranty otherwise you'll be sitting with a black hole in your room too.

The Greatest Television Ever
This is the greatest television ever, just like the subject line of this review says. If it were possible to give "Six" stars, I would. Very pleased with this set - after six months of countless hours of viewing on all sorts of football, tv, movie circumstances. Great, great tv. Buy one, buy this one, and be very glad that you did. Only buy though, if you have the available $$$ for such a thing. Real great alternative is a Vizio, might not be the high-quality la-la of this one - but will save ya the dough, if thats your case. If you have it, and can spend it, spend it here on this model. The glass floating perimeter of the set never gets old to look at. Clean lines.

I'm a normal guy with a normal guy perspective
As of November 13, 2007 I've had this television three months. I ordered through Amazon. Eagle Shipping called two days prior with the date and possible delivery time. They made the delivery within two hours of their estimation. As soon as the t.v. arrived I watched it in a windowless room. I can not perceive any inconsistencies or "cloudy / gray" areas. Please do not let previous reviews deter you from purchasing any of the Sony XBR line T.V.'s. I am convinced the "ghosting" complaints were very legitimate but limited to specific production dates. First, there are T.V.'s with better picture quality but my environment is a livingroom with three full walls of windows. A plasma T.V. was not a viable option. From my four months of "playing around" before buying I will subscribe to most professional publications- Pioneer (plasma) picture quality is currently the best. Back on track- When watching a full HD program the picture is stunning. However; if you are not watching an HD program, then the picture is fair. I had to upgrade my cable service substancially to get any HD networks- A hidden cost to remember. I also discovered not all cameras at sports events are HD. There is a dramatic (and very distracting) difference in picture quality during HD sporting events. I do not notice the "streaking" which some people claim to see when watching fast moving objects. Finally, there are a lot of "tweeks" (picture options) available in the XBR series. A lot of reviews list this as a "negative" or "unnessessary" feature. I completely disagree. It takes time to navigate the sub-menus and to cross-check your settings but once complete, the final picture is superb when compared to the default settings. My complaints: I do not use the remote except to adjust the picture. Everything is done by my HD cable remote. Sony boasts about the "Floating Glass" Design. It's nice but it adds four inches to the width. That makes this a very big t.v. and (unless you mount it) you must be aware of the space needed to house it. Also, not to be redundant- but you must adjust nearly all picture settings to enjoy this t.v. Finally, this is a very expensive "toy." And like all electronics the price has dropped $299 since I bought it. Pay the extra $100 or $200 to ensure you can return it if you do not like it. READ the RETURN POLICIES because there are numerous restrictions and restocking fees at most wholesale electronic stores. Thanks for reading and good luck in your purchase.

Sony does it all
I did months of research before I decided on the Sony XBR2. I wanted to find out if the higher price was worth it. It definitely is! The HD picture quality is amazing! It is almost three dimensional My set is 46" so it feels like I am looking out of my window at the action on the screen. Colors are beautiful and vivid! I find myself watching programs that I hate if they are in HD. Simulated surround sound is pretty good too, particularly in movies. I wish it had PIP especially at this price! It has a freeze picture option but it requires me to use the Sony remote vs the Comcast cable remote. My wife and I really like the floating appearance and the silver color...very elegant! Bottom line is that this is the best combination of quality, performance, good looks on the market today.

Editorial Review :
For consumers who want an HDTV that keeps pace with fast-action movies, sports, and game play, Sony BRAVIA V-Series Flat Panel HDTVs combine Full HD 1080p performance and Motionflow 120Hz technology for an amazing viewing experience. Motionflow 120Hz takes both high-definition and standard programming a step further by increasing sharpness and detail in fast-moving images for more fluid, natural motion. In addition, BRAVIA V-Series HDTVs use proprietary Image Blur Reduction technology to further enhance the picture for even better performance. The HDTVs also feature BRAVIA Engine 2 technology, which uses exclusive Sony algorithms to reduce visual noise and sharpen and enhance an already-striking dynamic contrast ratio. Additionally, they include seven versatile HD connections to ensure you get impressive image quality from all your HD components. Take advantage of four HDMI inputs, component and composite inputs, and a PC input, as well as a USB input that lets you play audio files from USB storage devices, or connect a compatible camera to your HDTV for a quick and easy slide show. Sony knows your home theater set-up doesn't stop with your HDTV, which is why the BRAVIA V-Series HDTVs are compatible with BRAVIA Link Modules -- including the BRAVIA Wireless Link, BRAVIA DVD Link, and BRAVIA Input Link Modules (all sold separately). The HDTVs also support BRAVIA SyncTM technology so you can control all of your compatible devices with a single remote. And all BRAVIA HDTVs exceed ENERGY STAR 3.0 requirements for in-use and stand-by power consumption, meaning you don't need a lot of power to get a lot of performance.

Sony Bravia KDL-46V5100
Bought this product two months back and since then I am happy with the product.

Awesome TV
No complains on this TV. The picture is awesome. Amazon service is #1. Will recommend this TV. As noted in some other reviews, its not the super slim. But the picture is beautiful. All my Sony components work nicely. Connecting the wires is painful after mounting it - but I don't think there is an easy solution to that.

Another winner for Amazon
Once again I have put my faith in Amazon thanks to all the information in the reviews on HDTV's. I have looked at a lot of tv's and read a books worth of product reviews and customer reviews. When I decided on the TV the entire sale thru Amazon was flawless. I purchased a Sony Bravia V-series 46 inch from Crutchfield. The service and the delivery was right on time. The delivery man put the TV in the house , attached the base and placed the unit on the cabinet. He checked the unit for damage and plugged the unit on to see if it worked. This is service!!! I have purchased many items from Amazon and will continue to use Amazon for all my needs, they are winners.

Fantastic buy
Very good TV I have no regrets about buying this one. I got mine with the Sony blue ray player free. Very bright picture and outstanding colors. I would recommend this TV to anyone. Very easy to set up and use and very thin, could be installed on any wall.

This model is a lemon - STAY AWAY!!!
I purchased this model back in August from Best Buy, and since realizing that it is a lemon, I'm trying to leave as many reviews as I can on the net to steer people away from the V5100 model. Both the S & V5100 models utilize the Bravia 2 engine, which is the main culprit of the issue. If you look at other reviews on here you'll notice many that discuss something known as the red flash issue. What happens is there is an unwanted color intensity shift during scenes with red and blue backgrounds. So if watching an interview on Colbert Report, the guest will be seating in front of a red background, and as the guest talks and uses his hands to gesture, all the main colors on the screen increase and decrease in intensity and saturation. It can be very annoying and noticeable. Sony cannot fix this problem and refuses to admit it. Many owners have had technician after technician come out, replacing the front panel and motherboard, all to no avail. They might even tell you to update the firmware, but at this point, this model should come loaded with the newest version, and that doesn't help.
Stay away and do not give Sony your money. Buy a Samsung or LG. I wish I had. Now I'm in a nightmare scenario where I have to deal with Sony customer relations, who are a bunch of monkeys to begin with. All they can do is read off scripts. It's a headache you don't need, especially before super bowl sunday and march madness.

Honest Review
This TV was an excellent buy for the size and price. Picture quality is quite good, although not quite as good as sony's newer panels, and there is some motion blur in moving scenes. Since I am a total freak over sound and image, I would expect that most people would not notice IE my mom and friends who aren't so technically inclined. Others who have seen it loved it and thought it was a great TV and jealousy ensued. I personally love the design of this panel much more than the newer models. it looks much like a picture frame. No picture in picture and only 2 HDMI inputs is a bit lacking, but if you have a AV receiver, not a problem. I will not say you must buy this, but if your looking for a large tv with minimal glare and good picture on a budget, this is a good choice.

Poor quality
I gave this TV 1 star because I could not give it zero star. I was deciding between the Mitsubishi LT-46133 and this Sony DKL46V3000. Mitsubishi had much better features, but I decide to buy the Sony because it had slightly better contrast in the dark areas. Big mistake buying this piece of lemon. I bought the unit on 12/22/07, the unit malfunctioned by doing auto shut down on 3/7/08. It has been in the repair shop twice since then and I hope to get it back before the end of May 2008. Sony offered me a replacement refurbished unit, saying the unit is more than 30 days. I refused because I paid for a new TV, not a refurbished unit. When I ask Robert at Customer Relations if this quality is acceptable, his reply is "things happen, and you turned down our offer to exchange it [with a refurbished unit]". Some one at work suggested I take them to Small Claims Court, which Robert replies "that is your peragative". Compare this to my friend's Mitsubishi TV bougt in Nov 2007 and my parent's Samsung TV bought in Dec 2007 which are still working fine.

a very good toy
I was going to buy a 52" Sony, but after playing with this set, I'm glad I settled into a 46". The picture is plenty big enough in my living room. And with my Sony home theater system set up, everything works very well.

Lots of LCD TVs out there so buying one can be overwhelming. We are enjoying this set lots.

Loved it until....
I really hate to give this only 3 stars because I absolutely love it. It's my second bedroom lcd and it has been perfect for 8 months. Recently, it developed one vertical line to the left. It does go away after an hour but it's definitely the tv. Since the warranty runs out in May; I'll be taking the set back to a Sony repair shop next week. I hate to do that since the TV is really perfect after an hour but fear the line will get worse or not go away. I have another Sony 52 inch kdl xbr4 from Amazon almost a year ago and it is beyond perfection. Love that beautiful set with the glass framing around it. It is huge and heavy but the images are just awsome. I have hdtv dvrs on both sets from comcast and although Comcast isn't perfect; the dvrs and really breath-taking when played back. Keep your fingers crossed for me as I hope they'll be able to fix this set. If not; I'll be purchasing another 46 inch or larger set for the bedroom after I settle with Sony. I'm assuming it will be another Sony lcd. I'm a loyal customer.

Questions & Answers Powered by Yahoo! Answers
Question : Will Canon/Nikon/Sony make APS-C still-cams with HiRes-primary-EVF's (like Pana Lumix G1/GF)
...hopefully with HD-video, flip-out-LCD's, and lens-mount compatible with existing lens-familiesOr does Panasonic have key patents locked-down, and be unwilling to license to C/N/SAfter first 2 responses (thank you, especially to PhotoAce), I'd like to add:I find the image quality of G1/GF astonishing for its size. The image quality of the Lumix G1 is so much better than, for example, the Canon G11 (which is in my estimation neglibly smaller), that Canon should at least *consider* making an APS-C / fixed-lens / EVF version of the G11.If well-designed, the "G11/APSc" could end-up being bigger than the G1/GF but still hopefully attractively-smaller than the big, heavy DSLR's.I just find the G1/GF so neat that I want to see it have some competition from C/N/S to "improve the breed".
Answer:
One of the reasons that those tiny DSLR's like the G1/GF can exist has to do with the small 4/3rds sensors. With Nikon, Canon and Sony moving toward full frame DSLR's, the chances are the 4/3rds cameras will remain with Olympus, Panasonic and Leica for now (that market is quite small when compared to the current APS-C and full frame DSLR's)If C/N/S decided to do that, they would have to introduce a whole new line of lenses due to the shallowness of the EVF bodies from shutter to rear of lens. As it is, Canon has a similar problem with all their EF-S lenses. They protrude too far into the camera so they cannot be used with any of the Canon EOS 35 mm or 1D/5D camera bodies. For more information on the 4/3rds systems, look herehttp://43rumors.com/http://www.4-3system.com/modules/news/NOTE: One thing you may see happen is pros may start carrying one of these tiny cameras with them, replacing any P&S they may carry now. Many of us keep a P&S handy to shoot location ideas or document lighting setups and other images we don't want nor need to drag out our DSLR to shoot. Having a pocket size, interchangeable lens camera could be handy. For sure, the "street photographers" are going to find these cameras less obtrusive when doing their work.

Question : What airsoft scope mounts fit onto a JG T3 K1 G3
Can someone give me a link for a weaver compatible scope mount that will work on the JG G3 (T3 K1). It has to be from Amazon and under $20. Thanks in advance :)
Answer:
Here are a few links to mounts on amazon. H&K designed the G3 and MP5 similarly, so mounts for both guns are the same. This one is a low profile mount for your G3. If you are planning on mounting a scope it might be too low on the gun even with high scope mount rings, but if you detach the front sight you should be fine. (If it can be taken off that is...) http://www.amazon.com/NcSTAR-MP5-Scope-Mount-MDMP5/dp/B000KELQQS/ref=sr_1_2ie=UTF8&s=sporting-goods &qid=1251257514&sr=8-2This one should rise a tad more and will work well with a scope and high scope rings.(You will probably be just fine with standard height scope rings.) Plus you get an extra rail on the side for extra accessories. Just a tad over 20 bucks.http://www.amazon.com/Leapers-Claw-Mount-MP5-variants/dp/B0016NCQCA/ref=sr_1_15ie=UTF8&s=spor ting-goods&qid=1251257514&sr=8-15
