Excellent sound quality at a great price

I purchased this item at Fry's Electronics while it was on sale, and I've had it over 2 years now. The sound quality is great, and really can't beat it for the price of these things.

It didn't come with a lot of mounting options, so I had to go buy some new mounts to put them on the ceiling, but generic mounts fit them perfectly, and went up without any problems.

Amazing Speakers

Bought these to go with a Sony 7.1 receiver (Had to order an extra pair set of satellites to fill it up). The satellites are small, but sound GREAT. Subwoofer's loud, but not overpowering & the center channel is crystal clear. I bought them a couple months ago for $200 from Amazon after looking at a bunch of other models. So far, they've far exceeded my expectations.

Don't want to be a hater, but...

Bought these on the opinion of others, and what seemed like a really good deal. Heard the comments about good bang for the buck, perfect for the basement/den, etc. etc. Was looking for a relatively inexpensive starter home theatre system.

Teamed it with a 200 dollar yamaha, 5.1 receiver, nothing to expensive, but felt like it would get the job done. Open it, set it up, turned it on and a certain amount of disasppointment set in. Wasn't really getting the lower mid range like I enjoy. Subwoofer gets it done, and system picks up the highs, and mid highs really well. But it had an almost hollow metallic sound to it. Adjusted what I could on the receiver, but was never really totally satisfied.

So now I've turned to plan b, I am now in the process of replacing the front 2 satelite speakers with floor speakers, jbl 6 inch, 3 way. This has improved the overall sound very well. Possibly near future will replace the center channel and rear surrounds, possibly polks or sony, 4 or five inch. I'm guessing this would give me the balance and clarity that I am looking for. Seems like I have ended up going the long way to get the sound I wanted.

Just felt like I was missing to much of the mid, lower mid sound. Didn't seem real balanced, and the treble almosted seemed piercing at times, even after adjustments on the receiver. Hope you find these comments helpful.

Great for 3 weeks....

This speaker set was definitely and upgrade over the 5.1 Onkyo speakers I had , but that lasted for only 3 weeks. That is when my subwoofer stopped working. Because I bought these online the only choice I had was to take it to the Infinity certified repair shop and have it fixed. It has been there for 3 weeks and I am still waiting to get it back.

Great sound...especially for this price

I set this up in our family room and love the sound! And the price was excellent. I believe the price on Amazon was one of the lowest around for this system.

With Panasonic, you can choose from 3 different types of Home Theaters that match your preference and room. Panasonic SC-PT770 Overview; High Quality Sound: The SC-PT770 uses front and center Bamboo Cone Speakers and a Kelton Subwoofer for crisp, clear mid- and high-frequency ranges and powerful, deep bass. A rigid, low-density bamboo material used in the fron and center speaker's cones helps achieve a clean, responseive sound. Vocals are pure and clear and dialog is crisp and easy to understand. The Kelton Type Subwoofer has an internal structure that is divided into two completely sealed spaces. The drive unit that is mounted to the space in the back causes the air in the front space to vibrate. This causes and Acoustic Filter effect in the front space to absorb unwanted noise while also vibrating the Passive Radiators. This achieves highly robust, reverberating bass sounds. Built-in Dolby Digital and DTS Decoder renders movie-theater-like sound while Home Theater Mode produces a total ouput power of 1000W of High Clarity Sound. Easy to Use: The built-in Universal Dock for iPod gives you a great new way to enjoy music and video3. Just slip your iPod into the cradle and enjoy. The dock charges your iPod , allows you to use the home theater remote to control the iPod , has on-screen audio menus, and also plays back iPod video. The SC-PT770 includes the front to rear wireless speakers, and a High Speed 5-DVD/CD changer with Multi-format Plaback: DVD-Video, DVD-RAM, DVD-RW, DVD-R, +R, +RW, CD, CD-R/RW, Video CD, SVCD, WMA, MP3, and JPEG. Environmentally Friendly: Add to this feature set a Smart Setup mode with Auto Speaker Setup and and Energy Star compliance, Low Power consumption for Stand-by (0.1W), and you have an ideal Home Theater solution.

Amazing Sound Quality

I have done a lot of research and comparisons before I purchased my home theater system. Because I already had a 50" Panasonic Plasma screen, I bought this for the Viera Link feature so I could sync the remotes; I love how easy this was. The whole set-up of the system was easy. For the money, you can't buy anything better with an amazing sound quality.

not great

this product did not meet my need if you are trying for a dvd player with surround sound it is an ok product but can not get regular tv sound to come through surround sound speakers and does not have any additional hookup for other devices the setup details were very hard to follow and misleading but it works fine as a dvd player but its a high cost for just a surround dvd player

Fine print got the best of me!

So I bought this surround sound today and I do like the sound quality! The display looks kind of out of date seeing as how it's a 1080p HDMI capable system. but set-up (once I followed the directions and not just pictures# was easy! Now this product got the best of me since the price at the NEX #navy exchange# was 279.99. So i thought it was a steal but they don't include the HDMI cable, nor the wireless transmitter #sh-fx70) a 150.00 plus product for the "wireless rear speakers". I specifically chose this for the simplicity that It has "viera link"; a common (easy setup) feature between panasonic televisions and home theater systems. So learn from my "excited overlooking";
Add the HDMI cable - I purchased mine for 25.00 from target and the brand is General Electric.
Add the SH-FX70 - Cheapest I found was 150.00 on Ebay.
to your final pricing if your going for the wireless rear speaker set-up. If you don't mind the cords running around then just add the HDMI. I like the IPOD dock it has. It's pretty cool and you can use the remote to choose what song. No videos from the IPOD though. It's kind of a bummer to have to drop the cover on the front of the main unit to access the exhange button in order to choose between which cd/dvd you want to take out or put in because if you just open the disc changer it only allows you to change the first. If you push it in to try and access the others it will atuomatically close all of them. I thought there was a button on the remote control but nope!

the last

I'm a german and i live in united states around 1 and a half year. Sorry my english is still not perfect. As we removed here we bought a Panasonic home theater. Because we had the same already in Germany. It was very beautiful for around 4 Months, then the DVD/CD-Player goes down. Unfortunately we don't buy a extra warranty. OK, it was our owe. In Germany we say : learning by doing. We went to best buy and bought another one. It works very good until today. This morning i bought 2 new CD and want to play it at home. I putted them in the CD-Player and the same with the first device: it doesn't play. Loud voices like a train, no function with the select-buttom, just the radio has done. Afternoon, we gave it back in best buy for the next one. Back at home connect the device and the same problems with the CD-Player. 3 Devices 3time the same problems!? It comes when the companies let make all thinks in China. Cheap, cheaper,
bull....Never Panasonic. I`m very dissapointed from the cheap plastic gears.it's just enough for the trash

This was a pretty good surround system. The only thing upsetting is no reception of radio. I asked for assistance, but was only told to check position of antennae. Anyone else have this problem?, or any other suggestions out there?
