Awesome TV! Slight cosmetic flaws

Overall, I'm pleased with this item. The qualify of it is awesome. There were slight cosmetic flaws next to the screen near the border. It is peeling a tad but not noticeable at all. For $999.99, I couldn't beat the price because there were no taxes nor shipping!

A Great Set and a Great Price

Just bought the set yesterday, set it up and couldn't stop watching it. Added the LG Blue Ray DVD Player/Home Theater system (with IPod dock/remote, NetFlix Ethernet capability, etc.) and I feel like I'm in a movie theater. The functions and ease of use on both devices are great.

The only drawback I've noticed so far with the TV is with deleting channels from the autoscan selections - it takes several screen flips to remove each channel, but since I've only had the set one day, maybe I'm doing something wrong).

Paid $899 (plus tax) at H.H. Gregg.

Very pleased with this tv

I did a lot of research before deciding on this model. It was easy to set up and looked great right out of the box. I have since fined tuned the color settings. We've had it for 3 months now and very pleased with it. I especially like the ability to choose different color schemes for different types of programing with just one button on the remote. I also like the fact that standard definition programing looks better on this tv than on others I've seen. I can't speak for the sound as I have it connected to a surround sound system.

Great LCD

After much researching - and a son-in-law buying 3 different LCDs and ending up with this model, I had to get the same one, as it was much better than the Sony or Samsung models he tried at the same price point.
Love the Auto Sense and how it adjusts the picture as the light changes. Also does great with the Wii and pics from my thumb drive.

Happier than I thought I'd be

I am very impressed with the picture quality of this TV, but I was expecting that. The sound quality and connectivity options impress me more. It is pretty quick to start up and silent to turn off (no "click" like many TVs). I am competely satisfied with this TV, and I am generally a very tough critic.

Bad business

I ordered LG 42LH40 42-inch 1080p on Amazon.com, instead they sent me the 42H32. Then they sent me an email notifying me about wrong item being shipped to me, that to return it and they will refund me all the money.I just found that today that they only refunded me partial credit. Do not trust them from what they said, keep track of things otherwise they will ripped you off.

Life IS Good with is this TV

Love this TV. The TV has a very sleek look, it has a glossy black finish with a very cool clear border that goes all the way around the TV. The picture quality is outstanding. Colors are beautiful and the picture is very sharp, I can't notice any motion blur at all. I actually like the TruMotion, I keep it on low though. Black levels are pretty good if you're sitting at the center of the TV, but if you're off angle they get much lighter. Lighter scenes look very good off angle though. The Picture Wizard is awesome, saves you from having to buy some expensive home theater calibration disc. Sound is pretty good for TV speakers. I don't have any lip sync issues but my TV was manufactured in Feb 2010 so the problem was probably fixed. I was shocked at how recent the manufacture date was. This is probably the best 40"/42" 1080p 120hz LCD you can find for the money. I highly recommend it to anyone on a $1000 max budget.

Great TV, Great Sound!

I did not buy the TV from Amazon, but from Fry's. I got it with an LG BD370 Blu-Ray Player. The video quality is just amazing! This TV comes with SRS Trusurround, and Clear Voice II, which for some odd reason is not active by default. You will need to enable it manually from the menu. I got a pretty high end HDMI cable from Monster(which I think is not really a great deal - I did not want to wait for a cable by ordering online), and the quality is just awesome! I love the TV, enjoy it with a Blu Ray or with PS3/XBOX(no Blu Ray on this though)!

lg dose things right!!

LG has Again done it right. There's only one Thing wrong with this TV, the sound. It's tinny and dose not handle Bass very well at all. Other than that this TV is excellent!

Great TV

This TV meets every expectation I had for it. I am blown away by the picture quality in HD on my blu-ray disks. The sound is very clear and crisp. For those who want to feel like getting a surround sound experience, don't expect it from the standard TV, use the hundreds you saved on the TV and get a decent 5.1 system. Back to the TV... regular TV channels look great, and dont get distorted when stretched to full screen. Overall I would suggest this TV to anyone who wants the best bang for your buck. I garuntee you will be happy with this purchase!

Strange "Power-On" Indicator

The TV picture is great. I did have some issue with the HDMI connection being not tight enough, but I am blaming that on the cable (see below, you can read my review on that page).

The one other issue I have with this tv is the strange little "bump out" it has on the bottom edge of the tv on the right hand side. If you click on the picture to zoom in, you can barley see it, but its there. It looks like a little chrome bubble. In person, it really stand out to me. When we first took it out of the box, I thought the chrome edging along the bottom of the tv had been damaged and was pulled away in that one spot. It turns out that when you plug it in a colored light shines into this bubble and shows you it has powered. And the light changes color when you turn the tv on.

I have to admit it probably would not look as bad if the tv were on a stand. But ours is mounted on the wall and every time I walk by it... it still looks like a defect instead of a design feature. Maybe it's just me.

PS, this is the cable I had an issue with. Diamond HDMI20 Premium HDMI Cable , 20" - Black

Answer:
for 42 inc and above screen , 1080p always better than 720 p. Of-course World wide Brand prices is always high as compare to OEM Brand , because there market world wide, must care of total Quality.OEM Brand only sold at one country, and from design to productions all don by other small tv factory. so... go for Philips, is worth to paid 100 more..just 100 and enjoy worries free with quality pictures.
