Great TV, Great Deal!
Bought this TV for Christmas. It shipped quickly, and set up was a breeze! Gets over the air HD signals with a basic rabbit ear antenna, has all of the other inputs you'd need for HD and the picture looks great. We haven't used the Ipod hookup too much, but it is a nice feature to have. I don't really have any negatives to say about it. Its a nice HDTV with all of the features you'd expect for the price.

Great TV lousy written Instructions for Old School Person.
This is our second LCD in the house and was quite a bargain for $500 new. We use this one for the living room so it's in with our entertainment center. It was very easy to hook up but took me forever to realize that there was no way of programming the channels from DISH satellite using their instructions. Simply got out the DISH instructions and reprogrammed the DISH remote to use with this tv. BAM it did everything for me and worked in just a few seconds with full control. The sound is great for normal tv especially when you use the "surround" option. When viewing movie DVD's the sound can be so low that you have to turn it up to 100 to hear some dialog. So I decided to hook tv up to our old fashioned Stereo Amp and use those speakers. It's too bad one has to still use an amp to boost the signal (or powered speakers) and two wires are still required to the speakers as has been forever. The color coded hookups are easy to follow but nowhere do the directions tell you to use the Original Remote to change the INPUT source to see the video. So I had wonderful sound but no picture. That was maddening until I figured it out to use the TV original remote to pick inputs. Instructions must be written in Chinese and translated using a mirror? Useless waste of paper. NOW this TV is totally amazing. When my wife was gone I turned up the volume and one of her vases on the wall shelf fell off from the bass(when hooked to stereo):) My bad. Fortunately it wasn't an heirloom. Now that I understand the method to these new electronics it is quite easy to install any component even with older technology like S-Video cable, RCA plugs or Computer USB. This set has every conceivable connector. It will be years before I buy a Blu-ray DVD (if ever) and be able to use the HDMI inputs. When kids visit they can use the ipod/gamer stuff. Fortunately this equipment lasts for a decade or more. I just donated our last still working VCR to charity and I bought it in 1999 for $95.

Nice, Basic, LCD TV
I bought this to replace a 22 year old, 20" CRT based, Panasonic TV that still work just fine. I initially wanted to get a 32" unit but, after looking at the various sizes at our local department store, decided that the 32" felt too small for our big room. I hardly notice a difference between 37" and 42". The difference between 720p and 1080p was lost on me as well when it came to these smaller sets. Since our old Panasonic had never given us a problem and the reviews were positive, we decided to go with another one. The one big disappointment for me was that Amazon said that the set had analog audio out. It does not! The only audio output is digital optical. After getting it, I bought a simple optical DAC to convert the optical data to analog so that I could feed it to my older but excellent stereo sound system. However, the TV did not down-convert the surround-sound signal to 2-channel, even with "surround sound" turned off. Disappointing. My only choice seems to be get a A/V receiver, with far more capabilities than I need and something I don't want in the 1st place, or to purchase a 5.1, Dolby Digital, DTS, etc. capable DAC and try that. Having no audio outputs seems to be the trend though. All in all, I am very happy with this TV. It looks great ON or OFF and pulls in off-the-air signals well with decent sound from the built-in speakers. If it had analog audio out, I would have given it 5 stars.

37" Panasonic TC-L37X1 Series LCD HDTV
Great 37" LCD HDTV for the money. The picture is sharp and clear even without cable. Sound could be a little stronger but I am planning to set it up with surround sound. I purchased mine new for $440 plus $30 shipping which is a great price for a quality 37" LCD TV. The remote is very easy to use and the I Pod dock is a plus. I don't think you can go wrong with this Panasonic TV.

Great TV for Great Price!
I just love the TV that comes out with great sound / picture quality. I've been having it for my PS3 that fits my need well. I am looking for another Panasonic Viera 37 inch 1080p LCD HDTV at a good price. I am totally sastified with the purchase on Amazon.com. That rocks!

Poor Quality/Materials
I bought the TV prior to moving into a new house. It sat undisturbed in a basement for 5 months. Hung it on the wall and watched maybe 40 to 50 hours of TV in 13.5 months. Long enough for the 1 yr Warranty to expire. Then I had a 4.5 inch wide vertical line appear from top to bottom which distorted the colors. Took it to a licensed Panasonic Dealer who stated the screen was solarized due to a manufacturer defect. The repair cost was $350.00 more than I paid for the TV. Called Panasonic customer service and spoke to a few people. They stated they would sell me a new TV at 40% off which was still another $450.00 out of my pocket. Bottom line, the tv went bad after 50 hours of TV time and Panasonic doesnt stand behing their products.

Great image, works as expected
This screen is just what I expected from it. The image is clear, and the reviews saying that I can view it ok from an angle it's true. I have a couch in a 45 degrees or so from the TV and it looks incredible. The item arrived in good condition and promptly.
My only complain is about the base .. once screwed you cannot move it. You cannot rotate the screen at all. A minor thing I didn't check when buying.
The options from the TV itself are a little limited, but the image itself looks fine so I don't have any complain. Of course no picture into picture or any fancy options. Sometimes when changing channel it delays a little (like half a second) to get the picture correctly.
It is a really good screen for the price.

Great Bedroom HDTV, best around
For Christmas, I was planning to get an HDTV for my bedroom, considering almost all of my family already had one, so I did. Before this, I had another Panasonic Standard 26' TV, about 13 years old. It was growing old, so a new one was fitting. I planned to buy a Samsung or Sony TV, but neither were avaliable to me, so Panasonic was the last choice I had. After having the TV for just a day, it was incredible. Then, I owned a Digital Converter, Blu-Ray (part of Christmas) and an Xbox 360 connected. The Xbox and the Blu-Ray looked incredible. For a 720P TV, this one takes the cake with it's immersive quality, darkest blacks, and so much more. The first thing I did in Blu-Ray was play the movie "Up", and it looked amazing, and sound quality is pretty good for now. A month later I got a Comcast HD Box, and I'm loving the HD content.
Overall, this is a great TV that is WELL worth the purchase. I highly reccomend it to anyone looking for a bedroom/family room HDTV for a low price- also- Costco is where I bought it, and it came with a 2-Year Warranty, 3 Year with American Express card. Just a tip.

Editorial Review :
This 37" LCD television with integrated HDTV has advanced true wide viewing angle with 8,000:1 Dynamic Contrast Ratio and 1366 x 768p Resolution - even while viewing at the most extreme angles. Super IPS Technology reduces common distortion and blurring caused by fast motion video and also provides one of the industry's widest viewing angles (178?).LG SimpLink allows for convenient control of other LG SimpLink products using the existing HDMI connection. Six distinct processes contribute to picture improvement. LG's XD Engine takes the low resolution of analog signals to near HD levels by improving brightness, contrast, detail and enhancing color as well as reducing signal noise. This total solution results in cinema-like high-resolution images.

Excellent performing HDTV at near bargain price
I have had this television for about 6 months now. I originally purchased an open box display unit that mysteriously would shut itself on and off. Once it was off it wouldn't power up for hours with the switch or remote. After thoroughly checking all the timer and alarm settings I called LG about the problem only to find that the serial number had already been registered with this complaint and scheduled for a return to the factory. Circuit City shamelessly tried to sell it instead!
Anyway I got a brand new model from CC for the same price because of their mistake. And have loved every minute of owning this unit. I immediately upgraded my digital cable to include an HD DVR and purchased a Yamaha 5.1 receiver for optimal sound. (Mostly to use with my Mac mini home theater connected with a DVI to HDMI cable and sound through a TOSlink optical cord.)
Television quality is excellent. Nice high contrast ratio. Response rate is quick for sports and F1 races (and gaming is superb in HD!) Overall I couldn't recommend this HDTV enough. LG continues to impress me with their quality and value.

Excellent TV!
We ordered the TV via Amazon and even though shipping would have been free, I paid a little extra to have it delivered in 3 days because I feared the longer it stayed in the shipping process, the better the chances of it being damaged.
Anyway, we are very happy with the TV. The distance from which you watch it is important. The best picture is from a distance of about 15' away. Any closer, and the picture isn't as great. But it's hard to go back to regular TV once you've watched it in HD. I'm hopelessly spoiled!
The set up was EASY! I read reviews about how difficult it was to set it up, and that's bogus. It was very easy. Given, I am electronically inclined, but I think my husband could have set it up easily and he's a doof. Haha!
The sound is great too, especially for built in speakers.
I was scared to buy something this pricey online, because if something goes wrong, you're kind of screwed. But the entire process from purchase to delivery was perfect. I do recommend reading up on sellers though, before you decide to go for it. Read other customer reviews on the seller!!! I changed my mind on a seller last minute and paid a little more for the TV just because I had a bad feeling.

Great TV!
I am not an expert in electronics so I will keep this short and sweet. This tv was just the right size for my needs, has an excellent picture (as far as my eyes are concerned) and the price was right!! I am pleased with the purchase.

TV IS BAD; LG WILL NOT RESPOND TO PROBLEM
This TV was a gift for us in May of 2007, purchased from Magnolia Home Theater and the extended warranty was not purchased. The first problem it had required a factory modification 3 months after we received it. It stopped responding to the remote and the menus on the TV were impossible to use via the side buttons. The second problem showed up in early 2009, well beyond the 1-year warranty. It turned itself off unexpectedly. Repeatedly. The repair service was called and we spent almost $500.00 on repairs. The power supply was replaced in April, 2009. In June, 2009, it turned itself off again, unexpectedly. Of course the repair service would not back up their work. And LG refused to do anything. I am very disappointed in a company that will not replace a unit that is clearly defective in some way, warranty or not. That's bad business and bad customer relations. I will not purchase an LG product again. Purchasing an extended warranty on a new product is ludicrous, has always been ludicrous. It only adds to the up-front cost and is merely a way for the seller to add to their profit, betting that MOST of the units they sell will not have problems. I believe it is a deceptive practice. Did I have a choice and could I have purchased an extended warranty? Yes, from the seller, but not from LG. It seems that's the way companies do business these days: "just get it out the door, don't worry about customer satisfaction when something goes wrong, especially if it's only a low percentage of customers; the majority of people will never know that our products are duds and we won't do anything to fix them."
