Green Vertical Lines
Like others here, I purchased this TV in November 2007. It was a good TV (a bit expensive for the size) until November 2009. I now have a green vertical line on the left side of the screen. It is there no matter which input I'm using. I saw the other reviews here and didn't even want to take it for an estimate being afraid of what I might hear. But, I purchased it with my Visa card and they double manufacturer's warranties. So, I had to take it in.... $1093 for a new LCD panel! What???? I only paid $1200 for it. I would suggest steering clear of this model. I'll personally be steering clear of Sony from now on. So, let's just hope the Visa warranty actually pays out. I need to put a call in to Sony also - maybe if enough people complain they'll put out a recall.

Vertical Lines
It was fine while it worked; like so many others, for about 24 months. Now it has no picture and only displays the infamous multi-colored vertical stripes.
Sony's answer? "There is no known issue." Of course there are hundreds of identical reports, complete with photos that could be my set, documented on the web.
I have not yet checked, but the repair estimates I read suggest that this sub-two year old TV is now garbage.
It's a crowded marketplace, for us Sony has just eliminated themselves from future consideration.
Caveat emptor folks.

Add me to list of Vertical Liners!
27 Months and now my tv has started with the vertical lines. I did like it appears everyone else did and searched the web first. Was told through an online resource that the part alone is over $600 never mind labor to repair it. Called Sony and was told "there is no known issue of this type" for that model. Seriously??? Just google "vertical lines 32xbr4" and you'll find all sorts of "issues". Even sent them an email, their response: "I'm sorry that you are not completely satisfied with your Sony TV. It is appreciated you've taken the time to share your comments with us. It is important to receive feedback so we may consider the needs of our customers in the future." Wow! Wasn't that nice of them. I saw where they addressed the same problem with the 46" model and are fixing it for people. Maybe if we keep bombarding them with our problem they'll acknowledge it as a "known issue" and pay for the repair.
I'm definitely leaning towards a Samsung for my next tv. Haven't read any horror stories on thier models.

Add me to the list of people with multi-colored bars
Sony does not support the information list on 3rd party web sites I am told. But I have the same problem as everyone else white screen with multicolored stripes - I paid good money for Sony quality and got a piece of junk that lasted 2.5 years.

Avoid This TV at all Costs
Same problem as I've seen on numerous websites. My Tv is shot after 2 years of use because of a bad TCON board. Sony will not own up to it and refuse to help. They have lost a Sony customer who has bought there products for 20 years.

Expensive but worth it
We don't have blu-ray or HD. We use an upsampling DVD player (sony $99) with this TV and have been very pleased with its performance. Images are crisp and the color is excellent.

Great picture unless you are a basketball fan
All of the reviews which praise the picture on the model are right. While the refresh rate (60hz) does cause blurring on fast motion, the only time I notice it is on basketball games. If you are a basketball fanatic, then you will probably want a 120hz model. Otherwise, this one is just fine.

Tickled Pink
When you buy a Sony, you are buying quality. This is my second Sony TV set. I have been viewing the TV with rooftop antenna for almost six weeks now and I'm still in awe at the picture quality. My next purchase will be a Sony DVD HD recorder to compliment my new HD TV. I can not omit mentioning J & R music and Computers (this is my second purchase with them) for their efficient and quick service.

First time big purchase over internet
All went vary smooth, had no problems with delivery, or the seller. The price was great and the Sony TV is the best, easy menus and great color and picture. The speakers are not that good, knew that from previous reviews, but plan on getting home theater sound system soon.

Outstanding Picture and Sound
I've had this TV for almost 8 months and am as happy with it as I was the day it was set up. The picture is wonderful and the sound very pleasing. There is no pixelating from fast image movement. The frame is brushed metal and narrow enough that the set doesn't stick out. Very beautiful. I wouldn't hesitate to purchase this TV again.
My only regret is that I didn't buy the 46" which in retrospect would have fit the room well.

Customer Review :
One of the better tube TVs out there.
I purchased this TV brand new in 2001, and I have enjoyed it ever since. The sound from the stock speakers is pretty good, and the picture quality is second to none. The PIP tuners are very convenient and you can play the sound of the PIP image even though the larger part of the screen is showing something else. The included universal remote rounds out a great product.
I was about to purchase a High-Def tuner/antenna for this TV when I received a brand new 32" Sony LCD TV as a Christmas gift. The first and obvious advantage of LCD TVs are that they are much easier to carry and move around (the larger tube TVs are behemoths and weigh what seems like a ton). Sadly, the old Sony now sits unused on the floor, but it will soon be getting a new home where it will continue to be enjoyed by another family.

A Sony tattoo would rock!!!
You have read the specs so I will not go over them. I have had the 27" since 2002 and have moved it 5 times and it works great. The only flaw that I have seen so far is it takes forever to turn on. I would say that it takes 20 seconds to warm up and a picture to be visible. When I first bought it the picture took around 3 seconds, still thats not to bad for a 4 year old TV and over 6000 miles of travel on it. My original rating was 4 stars but with time it deserves the extra star.

Best Analog TV Ever!
I've had this TV since 2001 (or so) and I have to say it's the best tube TV I have ever owned or used. I have had ZERO problems with it. It takes a few seconds to fire up, but so does everything else attached to it.
Pros: Multiple Inputs. You can never have too many. Best are the component ins, which allow me to use my Samsung DTBH260F. Picture Clarity. I can't watch HDTV with this TV, but when watching downscaled HD programs, the picture is way sharper than I thought a SDTV could be capable of. Good Sound. The speakers are plenty loud and clear sounding.
Cons: Certain sound frequencies cause the TV cabinet to vibrate, even at low volumes. I've noticed it's usually female voices. The female investigator on Law & Order, SVU, makes it rattle every time. Other than that, the sound is always perfect. It's Heavy. Not insane heavy, but most people may want help lifting this TV.
It will be a bittersweet day when I trade this TV for a flat panel HDTV.

Wow! Sony does it again!
Granted, after watching television for 10 years on a 19" screen, almost anything would be a step up...
One day, after watching me do something on my computer, my wife mentioned that the 17" monitor was almost as large as our TV screen. I started thinking, and decided it was time to step into the 21st century for our home entertainment. After checking out websites, and retailers, we decided to take the plunge with the beautiful Sony Wega 27" TV. Needless to say, we have not been disappointed. The screen size is perfect for the living room of our apartment. Anything bigger might have been too much. A rule of thumb is this: Screen Size x 3 = optimal viewing distance. Picture quality on the flat screen is incredible. Obviously, it isn't like HDTV, but it is still incredible. The viewing angle is very large - you can stand off to the side and view the screen and not miss much (if anything). The remote control and set up are very easy, and the speakers actually sound pretty good. We have home theater, so we don't use the TV's speakers, but every now and again, we'll use them when our son is asleep. They aren't bad at all! The TV itself is gorgeous. The cabinet is a slightly darker gray than earlier Wegas, and I think this is an improvement. It serves to make it stand out at retailers, especially since companies like JVC made some silver-colored cabinets after Sony broke the mode with its original Wegas. If you are looking for a 27" color TV, you would be doing yourself a favor by considering this model.

First Rate
Given the number of complaints I've heard about the Sony Wegas (pink lines, color distortions, picture warping, etc.) and having seen some of the problems on early Wega models in showrooms, I was hesitant about purchasing one. After looking at dozens of models at a variety of stores however, I'm pretty convinced that the majority of problems have been fixed on the more recent models. The Wega KV-27FV17 picture was superior to any other 27" television I looked at over several weeks, and so I decided to take one home. I can report that after a few weeks, I've had no problems, and the picture quality is superb. I have noticed the slight picture bulge some people have complained about when reading the tickers or crawls at the bottom of the screen on business channels. It's minor, so unless you're purchasing a set to obsessively read business or news crawls, it's nothing to lose sleep over. That said, the picture when watching everything else is excellent, and spectacular when using an S-cable or component cable to watch DVD's or digital cable/satelite systems. I'm very pleased with this model.

Question : what would be a good color combo. I want to do all pinks, but half and half (two colors) and a stripe
also do you think that would look good I want to do a lighter pink, then a darker pink, and then a dark pink in the middle of the two. this would be in my bedroom. do you think that would look good and what color swatches cause i literally have no idea. and how would i even do that its just an idea in my head and i just dont know..
Answer:
I would save the stripes for the comforter, dust ruffle or curtains and paint the walls all one color or with one accent wall in a deeper shade of pink.

Question : If I paint 1 bdrm wall in a horizontal stripe (using 4 different colors), what color is best for adjacent wall
when painting horizontal stripes on a bdrm wall what is the recommended hue for the adjacent walls Do you take one of the colors from the stripes Or do you use a different color altogether but in the same family hue And if so, do you use the darker colored stripe or the lighter coloris it better to use odd or even numbers when painting horizontal stripesthe adjacent walls are adjoining so you still recommend using the darker colored stripe, which is the first stripe to be painted, closest to the floor.thanks for all the input thus far...to clarify, I am starting w/a shade of gray and simply moving up the color palette fr darkest to lightest. I am starting mid range w/the shade of gray so it's not that dark and then finishing w/the lighter shade. If I only use 3 shades of gray, do I use the mid shade of gray for all other walls Thanks
Answer:
If you are painting the stripes in the same color family, I would paint the other walls the mid shade, if you are using very different colors, again I would pick a color in the mid range for other wallsYES I WOULD USE THE MIDSHADE
