Great product at a great price

With the location of this TV being mounted into a recessed area I really needed the ability to extend the TV away from the mounting location in order to access behind it. Not only does this this wall mount have the articulating feature, it is much nicer than another I have in a different location and it was much cheaper. The included HDMI cable was a nice bonus.

Great Wall Mount

This wall mount worked out great for my 60 inch plasma TV. The directions for installation were easy to follow and there were no missing screws or bolts. The unit is pretty heavy so you will need a partner to help hold it in place as you mount it to the wall. It is very sturdy. My TV now easily moves left and right and up and down. This was a great unit at a bargain price.

Very Good Wall Mount

Very sturdy, easy to mount and attach TV. Holds my 46" flat screen Sony nicely. Have a second one for my 2nd 46" flat screen as well. Very Happy with both.

Nice Product

I mounted a 42 inch LG with side speakers so the TV width is 47.5 inches. This product was sturdy and took two people to mount the rack and lift the TV in place. They give you so many screws to attach the mounting brackets to the TV it probably fits most TV's. Make sure your studs are 16 inches apart before ordering. This mount will not work with 24 inch studs

Very sturdy TV mount ~ Easy to install

I just installed this TV mount on my 50' Samsung PN50C550 weighing 83lbs. The mount I got said it was good for 30-62" HDTV's. Looks just like what is pictured. The instructions were pretty easy to follow and the parts are labeled. There is also a picture of each part in the instructions in case you mix them up. This structure is very sturdy. It was able to support my weight (130lbs). The metal is not flimsy and will not easily bend. The built in level is not really accurate so use your own level. FYI Hanging this mount and hanging your TV will be a 2-3 person job. Instructions are mostly in metric. There is just enough room behind so you won't need to buy the hdmi elbow connectors. I am very happy with the look and stability of this mount!

Some installation tips for wood studs:

Tools needed:
3/16" drill bit
Tape measure
Stud finder
Painters tape
13mm wrench or socket wrench
Level
Phillips screwdriver

Find the center of where you want to Hang your TV. (When marking the vertical center put a small piece of painters tape below where the TV will hang so when you go to hang the TV you know where the center is.) Then locate the nearest studs on the left and right of the center. Use the stud finder and mark the center of each stud.

Have a friend hold up the mount frame and use a level (not the built in one) to ensure it is straight. Your center mark should be around the center of the mount frame. If you have a bigger TV you have more room to adjust left to right if you need to. Mark the 4 mount holes (left right top bottom) so they are directly over the stud center marks.

Next you need to drill the holes into the studs. The only complaint I have is the measurements are in metric and the instructions do not list the conversion. To install this into wood studs it asks you to use a 5 mm drill bit and make a 50mm hole. I used a 3/16" drill bit and drilled a 2 inch deep hole. A trick to make all your holes the same depth ... put a piece of blue painters tape around the drill bit just above the 2 inch mark. Then just drill each to the mark.

Have your friend hold up the frame again. Then install the bolts + washer into the drilled holes. Do not over tighten!

Determine which screws to use on your tv. For my Samsung TV I had to put the square washer on the backside of the mount arms because there were two screws sticking out of the back of the TV that were in the way. In the case the back of your tv is not even they provide plastic spacers you could use as well. Gently tighten the Tilt adjusters so they aren't too loose.

Once the mount arms are attached to the TV. You can hang it on the mount frame... Get your friend again and have them help you lift the TV onto the mount frame. If someone else is available have them plug in the cables before you hang it on the wall. Then reach underneath the TV and tighten the safety screws. It's easier to do this if you gently tilt the TV up first.

Yippe! Your TV is now ready to watch!

Great device! Very strong. Had mounting holes in the right places for my Sony LCD TV. I put it in a good viewing position and it stays there. It allows me to place it near the ceiling which is a relaxing position when my feet are up and body laid back in my lazy-boy.

Easy installation

I used this to mount a 26 inch Sharp LCD HD TV. I needed it to fully extend and rotate so that the display was perpendicular to the wall with the center of the TV nearly 24 inches from the wall. I didn't want the display to sag and it stays in this extended position at all times.
Mission accomplished ! The mount was easy to install and adjust. It is very sturdy and holds this extended position very well. The mount even has nice cable raceways to hide cords. Sturdy. Well made. Easy install.

Great mount, but the "extension" spec is a bit misleading

First, let me say that I'm very pleased with this mount. It's a simple, compact, solid, single-stud design, and it would have been incredibly easy to install if the "extension" spec was as it appeared.

Please allow me to explain. I purchased a 40" Samsung LCD and wanted to mount it on a side wall of my den so that when it was being watched the mount would be fully extended and the TV would be rotated 90° (i.e., perpendicular) to the wall ... then when I need to get into the nearby closet I could rotate the TV against the wall to keep it out of the way. My TV is about 39.5" wide, so when I read in the product description that the mount would extend 20" from the wall I thought that I had found the perfect mount. Alas, when it arrived, I learned that the 20" dimension only applies when the TV remains parallel to the wall, and the extension when the TV is rotated 90° is closer to 17.5"-18", which will be fine for TV's less than about 35" wide, but not for mine. To resolve this shortcomming (pun intended), I built a block of oak, which I lagged to the wall, and to which I attached the base of the mount. With this setup it works exactly as I need it to, and I am therefore happy with the final result.

The mount is sturdy enough for my 40" TV, but I can see why they rate that as the largest acceptable size. My TV has 200x200mm VESA mounting pattern ... the mount is 100x100, but it included a 200x200 adapter plate that works perfectly.

Cable management is unspectacular but very simple and effective ... remove one or both sliding covers, insert the cables, and replace the covers.

All in all, I can't imagine a better mount for the money for use with small-to-medium size TVs.

excellent mount, issue with tilting

This mount is great, easy to install and very sturdy. Had a problem getting it to tilt. Had to break off 2 bars that were going through the tilt arms. Once those were gone, it worked fine. Good price also for a high quality mount.

Good Mount

This is a good, inexpensive mount. It is wide enough room to move it horizontally to accommodate the stud position. Installation was straight forward. The mount places the TV far enough away from the wall as to not interfere with cords. One should plug in all connections before mounting the TV to the bracket because it is very difficult after it is on the wall. Again, good mount for the money.

Rating :

Good value in a strong flush mount

This is a great value on a mid-size, heavy duty wall mount. I paid $70 inc. shipping. I mounted a 32" Sharp using this mount...a little overkill but I wanted to be able to go up in tv size in the future. Installation was pretty easy. I did it alone. I rate myself as fairly handy at this type of thing. Still, drill some holes, screw in a few screws and your done. A helper would make it go a little quicker. The mount is very solid and secure when intalled into wall studs. The instructions could have been a little clearer, but what do you expect. I used the pictures as reference. That was a much better approach than the written instructions. TV mounts very close to the wall (about 1.5" clearance). Loosen two set screws and you can adjust tilt or remove TV from the wall.

Unless you have side hookups, make your cable connections before you hang the tv. Adjusting the tilt takes a little doing...there are set screws, so you can't just adjust at will. Make sure you put the super long "security allen" wrench they give you in a safe place and remember where it is because you will need it to make adjustments. It has a hole in the end and a regular allen wrench won't do. It came with a bunch of different size bolts to accomodate various televisions. Check the manufacturers website to find which mount is best for your tv. It will give you multiple choices. www.peerlessmounts.com Use the Mount Finder on the left.

I would definitely recommend this mount for anyone wanting a flush mounted screen.

Good product when it was finally up...you must loosen the small hex screws (with bolt) in order to use the angle feature. This is not shown in the procedure to install. It took me forever to figure this out and I only did because I read another review on Amazon...

Model MP860B is one of the strongest mounts on the market today. It has easy to follow instructions with a Durable Powder Coated Finish. The color for this mount is Black VESA 850 compatible Solid Steel Arms Strongest on the Market Unlike the other mounts online this is made from heavy gauge steel on wont warp when fully extended. Will this mount fit my TV? First, check the weight of your TV. It must be less than 200 lbs. Second, look at the back panel of your TV. If your TV has 4 holes or 6 holes on the back of the screen, measure the vertical and horizontal distance between the holes. If the vertical distance is within 23.6 inch, horizontal distance is within 33.5 inch, then this bracket will fit. Finally, the width of your TV should be 37" or above, otherwise the mount is too wide to hide behind your TV. If you are not sure whether this fits your TV , please contact us, we will check for you.

Study it carefully before you put it up

The cantilever swing out articulating arm is well made and easily supports a 50" Plasma screen TV, for which used the arm. The pricing was excellent and significantly less than I was able to find elsewhere. My only complaint about the unit is the very poor assembly instructions which becomes compounded by the plethora of screws included with the units with no instructions on to their specific use. After spending time reviewing the unit and the poor instructions, I had to resort to trial and error on the proper screws to use for my specific installation. Other than the assembly challenges the unit functions well with a wide range of motion, fully extends out to its stated length, and does tuck in tight when in the resting position. I would heartily recommend the unit, but caution those with little patience to prepare for the almost certain frustration on the installation.

VideoSecu MW370B Good LCD wall mount

I have no complaints with this mount. It is well built, sturdy and was easy to install. The only set back is the maneuverability of the mount once it is installed. Tilting is no problem but for those of you who will be angling you TV back and forth from side to side there a bit of a struggle because the extension arms are quite stiff. overall I would buy it again especially for the price.

Perfect for not so perfect mounting areas

I bought this mount due to very limiting space in my bedroom to mount a tv. I needed one with a lot of movement, and the ability to pull far from the wall, this way it could be mounted in a corner. This did the job perfectly. The mount had plenty of holes for the mounting bolts, which helped out with the studs on that section of my wall not being standard distance apart.

PROS:
*Very Sturdy
*Plenty of movement, and ease of movement
*Backplate has a variety of mounting holes (ease of mounting)

CONS:
*Terrible instructions
*Bit of work to install

The instructions were absolutely terrible for this thing. They were not needed for me, but I can see where it would be a problem for many other people. Its a bit unwieldy securing it, so if you are weak, don't install it alone. The tools you will need are: Drill and bits (pilot holes into the studs), nut driver or rachet, level, stud sensor, and screwdrivers.

All in all, an excellent product. Took me about 30 minutes from receiving the box to mounting it on the wall, but expect it to take upwards of an hour and a half. It holds up my 46" with ease, and allows me to swivel the TV easily.

Good Quality for less

At first I was a little worried about using this mount on my new 65" plasma that weighed 142lbs, but installation was a breeze and it's looked perfect ever since. The mount is really sturdy and durable. I'm even thinking about getting another one for my other tv. It's a great mount for the price and you can't beat it anywhere, trust me I looked around. I would buy again in a heartbeat. Thanks.

Nice mount

This mount is very well constructed. It comes with a nice template to mark the wall for the mount holes. The operation was a bit stiff for adjusting tilt, etc. out of the box, however that is easily corrected by loosening the hex screws at the joints. Overall I am pleased with this purchase and the price was very reasonable compared to buying it at a store.

What is the difference between a Vizio LCD-HDTV with 720p and 1080p? I'm considering buying the 32 in with the 720p.

Answer:
You'd have to sit 6 feet or less from your 32" TV to see the difference between 720 and 1080 in terms of resolution. See the following chart...http://s3.carltonbale.com/resolution_chart.html

For an Xbox 360, the best resolution is 1080p, so an HDTV that offers this resolution will be what you want. An HDTV-Ready television does not have a built-in HD receiver, while an HDTV does. Question : What is the difference and pros and con between a flat panel HDTV and a LCD HDTV?
With all other aspects being about the same except price, I was trying to compare a 40" Sony flat panel to a Sony LCD of the same dimensions. Which one has a better picture or some quality that makes it noticeably better than the other? Due to not presently being able to view them side by side in a store, I am trying to compare what I can via online shopping. Your response doesn't have to address Sony brand, but rather HDTV Flat panel to HDTV LCD. Thanks.

Answer:
LCD is a type of flat panel HDTV. I guess you mean LCD vs Plasma. Here are some pros & cons of themPros of Plasma- Better contrast ratio- better ability to render deep blacks, more color depth, - better motion tracking (response time)- more availability in very large screen sizes. Cons of Plasma - more susceptible to burn-in (although this is not as much of a factor now, due to technology improvements in the past few years)- more heat generation (as well as more power consumption)- screen glare in brightly lit rooms- heavier weight, and more delicate to ship. Good brand that I would recommend for Plasma is Panasonic or Samsunghttp://www.amazon.com/gp/redirect.html?ie=UTF8&location=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.amazon.com%2Fs%3Fie% 3DUTF8%26redirect%3Dtrue%26ref%255F%3Dsr%255Fnr%255Fp%255Fn%255Ffeature%255Fthree%255Fbr%255F1%26bbn %3D979929011%26qid%3D1257710394%26rnid%3D724226011%26rh%3Dn%253A172282%252Cn%253A%2521493964%252Cn%2 53A1266092011%252Cn%253A172659%252Cn%253A979929011%252Cp%255Fn%255Ffeature%255Fthree%255Fbrowse-bin% 253A724228011&tag=ad107-20&linkCode=ur2&camp=1789&creative=390957Pros of LCD- LCD television advantages include no burn-in susceptibility- cooler running- less screen glare, more functional at high altitudes- longer display life (although improvements are being made in Plasma screen life)- looks better in brightly lit rooms- less power consumption than Plasma. Cons of LCD- Lower contrast ratio- not as good rendering deep blacks- not as good at tracking motion (although this is improving, especially with the implementation of 120Hz refresh rates (and some now offer 240Hz) on higher-end models). Good brand for LCD that I would recommend is Samsung or Sonyhttp://www.amazon.com/gp/redirect.html?ie=UTF8&location=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.amazon.com%2Fs%3Fie%3DU TF8%26node%3D724227011%252C979929011%26ref%255F%3Dce%255F500%255Fftlc1&tag=ad107-20&linkCode=ur2&cam p=1789&creative=390957

Question : Why do I confuse my LCD HDTV with the plasma TV we have in the living room?
Why do I confuse my LCD HDTV with the 42 inch plasma we have in the living room. Why do I always get to thinking that my LCD HDTV is a plasma TV when I am watching my TV in my room,I have an Insignia 32 inch(NS-L32X-10A) 1080p and I always feel like I am watching a plasma TV,why is that?

Answer:
LCD TV and plasma TV are the two different type of TV . plasma TV is a very huge up about 50inch , as LCD are smaller TV not more than 40inch . and the lifespans of Plasma TV also slighly shorter and power rating also higher than LCD TV , this is what I knew so far .

Question : Why does my LCD HDTV have black bars on the left and right sides of the screen?
I have a 32'' widescreen audiovox LCD HDTV. I also own a comcast digital cable box, which we used to view hi-def programs through component cables. We recently got a dvi cable and now sandard-def programs have black bars on the left and right of the screen. Th HD is fine,no black bars. But standard-def channels now have black bars on the left and right, but they did not before when we used component cables. Any help would be appreciated.

Answer:
Widescreen TV's are wider than standard def TV's. You have space left over on each side when you put the shape of a standard def program on the screen. You can always stretch or zoom, but that's your preference. I would keep it as it is and see the original content the way it was meant to be viewed.Standard-def channels have a 4:3 aspect ratio; the width is 4/3 = 1.333 times longer than the height.High-def channels have a 16:9 aspect ratio; the width is 16/9 = 1.78 times longer than the height. If you take a standard def image (1.33:1) and put it in a widescreen set as large as it will fit, you will have black bars on the left and right. It used to be that all programs (movies and television) had a 4:3 apsect ratio. When television was introduced, the theatres had to have something novel to draw audiences back to the theatre. They switched to even larger aspect rations of 1.85:1 or 2.35:1 (width is 2.35 times longer than the height). Early movies like "Gone with the Wind" the original "Dracula" and even "The Wizard of Oz" were all 1.33:1 and would fit perfectly on standard def screens.Since a lot of movies have even wider screens than HDTV's, you are going to even run into black bars on the top and bottom.16:9 (1.78:1) is basically a compromise between standard def (1.33:1) and theater (2.35:1).

Question : Should I wait to buy a nice an LCD HDTV or go big now?
Basically I've done hours of research on different types of LCD's. I have came done to instead of spending the extra money not just buy a cheap 32in LCD HDTV on black friday then in two years sell that and buy a nice 37in.Do you think it would be worth the wait?

Answer:
nope been there done that, once you have your tv your going to regret going to small! and like they say go big or go home!

Question : How hard is it to install an LCD HDTV?
I think I found a good deal on a LG LCD HDTV but I'm not sure of the difficulty of installing the thing in my home. I would think it's just like hooking up any other TV other than upgrading my cable box to HD. Any suggestions or help?

Answer:
You don't even need to upgrade your cable box to HD to use your new HDTV.Just plug it in to the wall.Connect the best available video output from your cable box which your TV supports (HDMI, component video, S-video, or regular RCA video, in that order) to your new TV.Connect the best available audio output from your cable box which your TV supports (optical digital or regular RCA stereo, in that order) to your new TV.Then enjoy!Your present cable box probably doesn't have HDMI, and it may not have component video either. When you upgrade to HD cable, you'll get one and/or the other. You should still be able to use your present cables, but you'll have to buy a new video cable(s) to enjoy the full benefits of higher resolution.
