Bose' AcoustiMass 10-III provides a matched system for exceptional home-theater performance, an experience that is so superb that you may prefer watching all your videos at home. It consists of six speaker modules: One low-profile AcoustiMass SubWoofer module (with three 5.25" woofers) for authentic bass frequencies that add a depth of dimension that is clearly rich without being muddy; Five tiny Satellite modules (each with two 2.5" drivers) deliver sonorously accurate and realistic mid-range and high frequencies to all 5 home theater channels (Front Left/Right/Center; Rear Left/Right)

Sound wonderful!
Why buy a series IV when you can get the same thing for series III? Just a diff label that they stuck on.

Sounds good
Bought these speakers to listen off my laptop computer. They sound really good. For the price they seem like a good value.

Pretty Good Value-Great Space Saver.
I purchased these speakers for my home PC because I have a small desk and not a lot of room to work with. I don't use speakers often with my home PC, just for basic listening.
These speakers are WONDERFULLY compact. Tall but with a very tiny surface area requirement on your desk. They sound fine for speech or small sounds. But they are not symphony quality by any means-they do not cut it for listening-intensive requirements like music or video games where sound quality will make or break your experience.
For the overall design and price, I am satisfied.

Wrong Item!!!
They sent me the wrong speakers 2 times without the subwoofers and I ask for money back the last time. Amazon did a horrible job putting the wrong title and picture on this. Don't buy this product from amazon because you are porbably going to get the wrong item like me and other customers.

Great Expecations, Sad Reality
I ordered these in hopes of saving space on my desk, which they accomplished. I was replacing some really old computer speakers from the late 90s that we probably got for less than $5. To my dismay, these ViewSonics couldn't even compete with the sound quality --what I thought was horrible quality-- of my old speakers. The sound was absolute garabage, from games to iTunes to Comcast's Internet TV, it was horrible sound quality so I temporarily reverted back to my old $5 speakers. I get better sound quality from my iPod's iTalk mono speaker attachment. ViewSonic should keep to what they do best, nice overpriced monitors. People, don't waste your money, there are better options here on Amazon (in the 50-70 range unfortunately) from other brands.

This system is not what is shown in the picture!
It seems that the system does not include the subwoofer and control as right now. I have ordered and returned the item to Amazon to get the complete system but still no luck.

truly a great value. They are big, but look NICE !!
After much research I decided to buy these speakers because they were the best sound and value for the price. I haved worked with Yamaha products in the area of professional sound for some time and have always been impressed with the quality and features they offer for the price. So when it came to a home system I had to test out their home audio equipment. I was impressed the moment I heard the speakers. I am running them off the Yamaha rx v650 receiver, which creates an impressive sound field in the average sized living room. If I wanted to spend a larger amount of money I would have bought professional speakers from Tannoy. However, for the price these Yamaha speakers are difficult to beat. A word of advice: these speakers are large, but slim and good looking. Don't try to hide them, make them a part of your decor. They have a large variety of mounting options (including two floor stands that come with the speakers). They easily mount to a wall (which I don't recommend doing for any speaker, they sound better away from walls), but they also mount easily to any standard speaker mount. I am using stand for all but two which I have suspended from the ceiling using ceiling "omnimounts." They work great! These speakers also come with an impressive 5 year warranty, which is diffucult to find anywhere else.

NOT TOO SHABBY FOR THE PRICE!!!
This is my first review, but I felt that this needed to be done... I looked all over the net' and couldn't find much on these before I bought them, so I at least hope to help somebody out here. These puppies look great, and don't sound too bad either for the money. Is there better out there? Sure. In this price range for a complete 6.1 system? Probably not. Just for the record, I'm driving this with the Yamaha 5660 6.1 reciever. The 6 main speakers are all identical. They have, and I can't stress this enough, NO BASS. None... zero... zip... which with the slimline design is to be expected. Not much cabinet dept, and virtually no way to port these out. What they lack in bass, they do make up for in unbelievably clear mids and highs. The lack of bass does mean that the sub has a lot of work to do, and this one does not dissapoint. It surprised me how accurate it is, and in a small to medium room, has plenty of power. Not too thumpy, but very clean and precise. Now, my system is in a fairly large room, so I do plan to add a second sub to this at some point. That may just be overkill... The YST set up does it's job very well. I'm just that picky. The stands on the front L/R speakers put everything at ear level, and the wall mountable aspect of all the speakers sure came in handy. Nice to hear that rear center channel kick in while watching Star Wars, or just tossing in a Foo Fighters live DVD. So far, they have performed better than I expected for the money on both music and movies. Hope this has helped somebody! Thanks for reading...

Buy heavier wire
. I agree with "Kman" and "Zombiecrow's" descriptions. I also am driving them with the Yamaha 5690 receiver. One thing I do recommend is that you buy heavier wire. The included wire is only #24 and doesn't look like it will do the job adequately. You can get 100 feet of #16 wire for about $20. Unless you have a large room, that should be enough.
I have not noticed a problem with the bass; perhaps the heavier wire did the trick. To demonstrate the system for friends, I put on the DVD "Gettysburg" and play the final bombardment just before Pickett's charge. Sounds like you are right in the middle of the Confederate cannons.
I adjusted the subwoofer with the manual adjustment on the back to the bass fiddle in a jazz concert DVD. That gave just enough bass. I adjusted the other speakers first using the auto setup with the included microphone. It did an OK job, but I found adjusting them individually with the manual feature made them closer to my personal preference.

Best budget speakers...ever?
Heh, no probably not...but they're still AMAZING speakers. I just got these last night from my parents for Christmas. They're an upgrade to the speakers that came with my $200 Sony HT-DDW600 home theater package that I bought for my college apartment almost 3 years ago.
Sadly, I still only have the receiver that came with said home theater package so these speakers aren't doing everything they could be. However, even with that third-rate receiver, the sound from the HKTS-7 speakers is breathtaking. These are a monumental upgrade to the old speakers...especially that massive sub (it's 19" tall).
My apartment was shaking last night while watching the NIN - Beside You in Time HD DVD. And the sub is only turned up about 2/3 of the way (it's got it's own individual level control)! But, unlike the sub that came with the HT-DDW600, this is a self-powered sub and has MUCH cleaner sound. When turning the "bass" up on the receiver past about 4 (out of 10) the woofer would thump/thud and just sound completely overworked and about to explode. The HKTS-7 sub gave deep rich bass with the receiver turned up to 6. I'm absolutely confident that with a proper receiver these speakers will truly show their power.
I'm thinking of matching them with a Harmon Kardon AVR-347. It has HDMI-in/out and, as long as you have a player that can decode them, it will handle Dolby Digital+, Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD audio. Adding these speakers with a receiver that handles the high definition audio formats coming from an HD DVD player will provide the ultimate home theater experience for those that either can't afford speakers that cost $2000 each or live in a place that would likely kick them out for pushing that kind of sound around.
The HKTS-7 provides amazing sound for an unbelievable price. I could not be more pleased with these speakers. My only complaints are: ** The ends of the wires are coated in what I would assume is nickel. It's nice, but one of the wires' ends snapped off incredibly easily and then I had to try to not cut off my fingers as I stripped the wires back a bit with a knife.
** The wall brackets require #8 screws in order to be attached to the wall. These are not included. So unless you have some laying around the house somewhere, you'll be needing to make a trip to the hardware store.
Otherwise, I very much look forward to getting a new receiver and watching the Bourne trilogy HD DVDs on my Samsung HLT-6187s 61" 1080p LED DLP HDTV while thoroughly enjoying high definition sound with these speakers.
Rating :
Great Sound - brackets could be better
Very Impressive sound from this system....
However, dont expect to use your own or any other brackets to hang the sats... You wont find threaded holes on the back of the sats or any other way to hang them. You must use the proprietary brackets that come with the system..

Question : How do you hook up a speaker selector to a Sony Home Theater System in a box?
I have recently purchased an outdoor rock speaker for my patio and I am trying to hook it up to my reciever but there are no more speaker connections. My Sony receiver is already connected to my home theater system which has 6 speakers with no more connections left to hook up this rock speaker. I have purchased a speaker selector but can't figure out how to hook everything up? The speaker selector that I have purchase is from Radio Shack. Any advice would be great!
Answer:
A speaker selector from Radio Shack is going to select from different pairs of speakers. Consequently you will only hook up the output from your L&R main speakers to the input on this selector. One of the outputs will go to your home theater main L&R speakers. The other will go to your rock speaker. If this is a dual voice coil speaker it will have inputs for both the left and right channels. If it is a single voice coil speaker you will only have input for the positive and negative of one channel. If it only has input for one channel, you will have to play your music in mono when listening outside. None of the other channels will be affected by this hook up. You will, however, have to run a test tone to readjust the level for your main L&R speakers afterward. The speaker selector causes signal loss even when the outdoor speaker is not engaged.

Question : What is the best home theater speaker system for around $400?
I just got a Panasonic TH-50PZ700U. I'm looking to get the Onkyo TX-SR605 receiver. What would be a good speaker system to get in the $400 price range?
Answer:
I have an Onkyo receiver and it has done well for me. I have Polk audio speakers, the combo works well. You may want to look at Infinity speakers as well. Be sure to get the same brand/model of speakers whatever you do. Sony speakers are also rated well by Consumer Reports and seems to be a little cheaper as well. Another note make sure you speakers can handle whatever is being pumped out of your receiver.

Question : Should all the speakers on a home theater system emit sounds?
I have the Coby 5.1 Channel home theater speaker system. I hooked it up but I only hear sound from the front left and front right speakers. Should I be hearing sound from the center and surround left and right speakers as well?
Answer:
all depends on what settings are on. there should be a button on the actual reciever and the remote to switch the different types of sound that could be played and what speakers are to be used. ALTHOUGH, the reason you may have all of the speakers activated and you only hear audio from the from front left, middle, and front right, is because the channel or movie that you are playing does not have 5.1 audio. meaning only the front will work and possibly the back but it will play the exact same audio as the front only a lot quieter. every movie is now made at least 5.1 so no worries with that. television channels do not ALL include 5.1, but some may!hope that helped a little!

Question : Looking for customer reviews for Energy Take Classic 5 Pack 5 0 Home Theater Speaker?
Where can I find reviews and opinions online for Energy Take Classic 5 Pack 5 0 Home Theater Speaker
Answer:
First off let me explain that the Energy Classic speakers in this kit are the exact same as the Energy Take Classic 5.1 except that you don't get the subwoofer. These speakers are just mind boggling good. They come in gloss piano black finish. They sound better than any speakers I've ever owned - even ones 5 times bigger. I use them mostly for music thru my Onkyo receiver but home theater sounds just as good. You can crank these babies up and they reward you with very clean and accurate sound. The first song I listened to with these was Khatru off Keys To Ascension and it put a big smile on my face. Anyway the best reason to get this set as opposed to the 5.1 kit is that you can match these up with a better subwoofer than the Energy sub. I got the Yamaha SW315 in piano black and it's a great match. Highly recommended. Just remember to use the proper gauge speaker wire for the length of your run and you'll be in great shape. These speakers are nice when they worked. I had to send each and every one of them to service. They even charge you to ship the units back to you. The service manager at the HQ is very rude, too. I will not buy Energy products again.

Question : home theater speaker wire question?
i have a kirsch k3 5.1ch surround sound home theater. i want to put speakers in my workout room, my master bath, guest bath and two bose out door speakers. my question is could i connect all of these additional speakers to my existing system? will sound quality be lost? any hazards i should be aware of? any other ideas? thanks!
Answer:
If you already have a full set of speakers connected to the receiver - no, you cannot connect all those additional speakers. You will need to get an additional amp. You might check into "whole house audio amps" - google it. If you have the money, that is the way a pro would do it.If you have only two in the room where the receiver is, then maybe you can add a few more speakers elsewhere.http://www.inwallstore.com/http://www.htd.com/whole-house-audio

Question : where is a good place to buy high end 12 gage home theater speaker wire?
where is a good place to buy high end 12 gage home theater speaker wire?
Answer:
Depending on how much you need I get most my cable etc from http://www.mycablemart.com/store/cart.php?m=product_list&c=56 orhttp://www.cablestogo.com/product_list.asp?cat%5Fid=2015or http://www.monoprice.com/products/subdepartment.asp?c_id=102&cp_id=10239Never ever NEVER buy monster cable. The mark up on their stuff is unbelievable. They do not ever show or will tell you what gage wire they even use. Remember pretty color insulation and fancy marketing schemes will not make your speakers sound any better, big rip off.
