LG LCD
The only thing that would make it better is if came with the WIFI adapter.

awesome
Great TV. Sound is a little tinny, but that's to be expected from such tiny speakers. They're not visible, which is nice.
The TV can access netfix, yahoo widgets, youtube, vudu, picasa, gives you the weather and has games! Every time I dig into the menus I find something new. Also, it automatically updates it's own software -- which I love for some reason.
Overall, it's just awesome. Buy 2.

Excellent TV
This is a great TV. Works well with our AT&T U-Verse. The best feature of this tv is the NetCast. Netflix videos are beautiful. The ability to rent movies from Vudu is fantastic. You get one free rental with the tv. Nothing bad to say about it. Love it.

Excellent TV
I recently got my LG 42LD550 as a free replacement from an Extended warranty company. It was one of three brand new TVs offered to me as a replacement for my two year old Sanyo. I really made the right choice with the LG 42LD550.
This TV is awesome. The picture quality is superb, and you can either make simple manual adjustments like, Backlight, Brightness, Contrast, color etc, or you can use the advanced mode to really calibrate the TV. The on screen menus are easy to use whether you are a novice or an expert.
Being a 120Hz TV with the Trumotion feature, watching fast moving sports is great on this TV. I left my Trumotion setting at 'Low' and everything looks great.
This TV has too many options to discuss here, and it offers high end functionality for a retail price of between $800 and $900.
Highly recommended.

So glad I made this purchase!
I love, love, love my new TV. Awesome picture and ability to instant view movies and other programs as well as Internet capabilities at a reasonable price. It is everything I wanted as an addition to my home theatre.

Picture shortcomings
After thoroughly researching the various 32" offerings, I decided on an LG, 720 p. This is a bit of a disappointmnet, as the picture is not as sharp as I expected and the viewing from the side- tho done rarely- is quite faded and distorted. I also had great difficulty in attaching the screen portion to its base- the instructions are inadequate. Overall, I'm satisfied- but it should have been better for the price I paid.

A Practical Review
I base my rating on the value for the money and how I plan to use the TV as opposed to a comparison to newer TVs on the market.
720p which is perfectly suitable for my needs. While I haven't yet attached a PC to this device my understanding is that 1080p is where you want to be if using as a PC monitor is of importance. On another note I wouldn't say this is great looking or cheap looking TV. Just a very middle of the road appearance.
Pro * Nice picture with rich color. * Nice picture controls (backlight, contrast, brightness, color, tint,H-sharpness, V-Sharpness, etc) * Nice menuing system * The remote is basic without being cheap or annoying. Rubberized keys but they do not glow. The remote is not too big or too small either. * Standard Definition TV looks pretty good on this TV. I use the mode that automatically resizes the image based on the signal which means I view std tv in a 4:3 box (I do not stretch).
Cons * The power on light is too large and annoying (at least 2" wide). The same light turns red when off and that is my problem. I don't need or want a light that tells me the TV is off. (Blue=on and No Light would have been preferrable). Perhaps I can disable or tape over it. * The speakers are NOT front firing. They fire to the back or down. This may be a problem for some. I currently have it in a cabinet and it sounds fine but speakers on the bottom facing forward would be better. If you plan to use external speakers then this doesn't really matter. * No S-Video. To some with Standard Quality cable (not HD) the S-video provides the best image but unfortunately it isn't avail.
In summation I think this TV is a nice value from a name brand manufacturer.

Stunning Picture Quality
I bought this TV couple of months ago from Walmart. What a stunning picture quality it has. It stood out from all the TVs on display around it due to it's vivid color and crisp picture. We bought it immediately and no regret. We love the picture quality. Sound quality is average as they say how it is in the flat TVs. Hence I bought a home theater system to complement it's picture quality and now we have stunning picture with amazing sound. Watching TV/movies is more fun than ever. With the home theater system, the sound is now balanced and there is no shocking sound level increase during the commercials.
The remote is nice and I like the quick setup button which pops up a circular dialogue box on the TV with most frequently used settings.
It has two HDMI inputs altough some competition TVs have more than 2 HDMI inputs. It also features a digital optical audio out and number of other traditional connectors including VGA input so that you could use it as a monitor for your computer.

Review of LG 32LD550 LCD HDTV
Setup was easy. Netflix was also easy to setup and worked without problems. Remote is problem. You have to stand right in front of the TV for the remote to work.

The software updates are not adiquately testesd, causing problem
Buy the LG32LD550 at your own risk and prepare to return it when it fails in an unexpected area. My new 32LD550 failed to play sound from CD's played on any DVD player after the most recent 6.00.04 updates were installed on this TV. On the first call to LG support they incorrectly blamed my new LG BD550 DVD player. Testing of the supports answer showed the TV was actually at fault not the DVD. I then obtained a replacement TV set. The second 32LD550 worked well out of the box. I then updated the software to the Version 5 level and it continued to work. I then upgraded to the latest level, 06.00.04, and it failed. I then called LG support for a second time and identified the software issue. They finally admitted they have an error with the 06.00.04 software. I asked to talk to a manager to express my concerns, and the manager proved he was there to protect LG, not be an advocate for the customer. I then asked to talk to a Quality Manager, and he refused to give me any name of anyone responsible in the management chain. By this time I had more than $300 additional expense isolating the real problem and getting the replacement set. I asked for compensation for my out of pocket expenses the answer was "LG Policy does not allow for that." While LG promises a fix for this specific problem sometime in the future, they cannot say when

Spontaneously turned itself off
Not impressed at all with this set. We bought this TV as the Deal of the Day from Amazon. Thank goodness for Amazon's return policy because it was returned within a few weeks of its purchase when the set began turning itself off spontaneously. We researched on line a bit and discovered the problem was not unique to our set, so we opted to not have the set replaced but were issued a full refund. We were lucky the problem arose while we could still return it, others described the problem developing after just a couple of months but beyond the return period. Additionally, I was not thrilled with the garish color settings that looked very unnatural or the dead space on the screen.

No more loud commercials at night
I got it to be able to fall asleep - my wife wants to watch/listen to TV while falling asleep, but I keep getting annoyed by the much louder commercials. The Auto Volume Level II does its thing - commercials are no longer louder than regular programs, so I assume it works for your action scenes as well.
TV pic is fine, w/HD looks super nice of course. Lots of inputs, I need a long ethernet cable now so I can try out connecting it to the internet. Very excited...

LG LD550 Great TV, specs a little off
Had this set for about 2 weeks and could not be happier. Everything stated about the quality, ease of use and features were right on. Network setup was a breeze, updated the software automatically and I was on the internet and Netflix. The only problem I had was with the wall mount. Sounded simple, look for a 32" compatible mount. However, went to the specs at LG, found the VESA mount size listed as 400 X 600. Sounded a bit large, but ordered a mount that would expand to this size at the same time I ordered the TV. It arrived, and the VESA in the instruction manual matched the actual on the TV- 100 x 200. I wish I had waited until the unit arrived before ordering that mount. On the bright side, if I ever upgrade to a 60" TV, I won't have to change the mount!!

good value
This is my second LCD tv, but my first large screen. I just had trouble trying to justify spending over a grand or more on a tv when I have other projects around the house I should be throwing money at. The first one I've had for a couple years, 19" Magnavox I used as a monitor, and Xbox games & Netflix (now its just a monitor).
I also found this for $658.00, which was low enough for my to rationalize the purchase and not feel guilty. I'm very happy with the picture and the number of hookups. You'll be able to run everything through this tv, the only reason I don't have my desktop through it is location. It doesn't have all the latest and greatest web features, but I think it's a quality 1080p HD picture, which is really what I was looking for.
If you're real techy, or visual-phile, then this probably isn't for you, but for the average viewer/user, it's hard to beat the picture for the price.

Really like it.
First off: We did not purchase this TV from Amazon, we purchased it at a local retail store, not for any other reason than the price (we paid a few hundred less than the current Amazon price)
My husband and I purchased this back in April, it was either this or the Phillips that they had set right beside it, it was really a hard choice as the Phillips was marked down to just a few hundred dollars, whilst this was just under six fifty. We are so very glad that we went with this model(42LD450). The video quality is quite good, blacks are black, and whites are white, back light is very bright, and video quality is amazing.
We almost took this back however: When we first plugged it in and turned it on, the only picture was a white screen with the Firmware version bouncing around, no menu would come up and it would not acknowledge anything had been connected. Well, we unplugged it again, and turned it back on, and this time, it acknowledged the DVR (input 1) and starting spewing forth video and audio We have had no problems since that.
My only gripe is that we will have to go out and purchase a new unit for our surround system, as the TV only has a Optical Audio Output. And on that note, the built in speakers are not awesome, yes, they are very usable, but like almost all TV speakers, they are not going to satisfy your need for spectacular surround.
This is definitely worth the buy, I really think you will be happy with your purchase. Thank You For Reading.

Not as good as I hoped
I purchased this TV to replace my 3-year old Samsung Series 3 32" LCD TV in my master bedroom because I wanted a larger size TV now that prices have dropped a good bit (paid over $1,400 for my 32" a few years ago). I debated between this one and a 40" Samsung for the same price, both were 60hz models, which is fine since I'm only using this for my DVR. Since I've seen a few older LGs before that had decent picture quality, I went with this one for it's larger size with slighly better specs than the Samsung, although I've always preferred Samsung. I figured since this was a newer model than those I've seen, with better specs I couldn't lose.... I was wrong!
I put this one on the wall where my old one was and my first night watching it I was quite disappointed! Although the picture is sharp and vibratant, it's only that way if you are directly in front of it. The viewing angel is terrible with this set, especially vertically below, which is my problem since I'm using this on a wall in my bedroom and viewing it from the bed, which puts me slighly below the screen (the TV is just above my dresser, maybe 3 feet above the floor). In this position, the screen washes out terribly, much like some of the older laptop displays did. Blacks become gray and colors very washed out. My Samsungs don't have this problem, neither my old 32" or my 52" in the living room. The construction itself is also very flimsy compared to the Samsung models I've owned. It's strange though, that I installed a 42" LG for a friend that's over 2 years older than this one and it was much more solid and has a better picture and viewing angle than this one.
I realize this is a lower-end set, and I did not want the best just for the bedroom, but considering that I replaced a 3 year old set with only 30,000:1 contrast ratio and 720p with this one that is supposed to be 100,000:1 and 1080p and yet my old one produced much deeper blacks and vibrant whites and colors, I'm quite dissapointed. Also, another reviewer mentioned that he didn't notice any backlight coming out of the back, but that's not my experience. While I've seen worse, this one projects a good bit of backlight out through all the vents onto the wall. I guess I can live with it, but why? None of my others had this issue either.
I was considering returning it, but don't feel like going through the hastle and don't want to spend a bunch more money to get a higher-end set. I decided to change my wall mount to a tilt mount and angle the TV downward, with it slighly higher on the wall and that helps a good bit because it gets the viewing angel of the TV perfectly alligned with my viewing area, so it looks pretty good now and I can deal with it.
Bottom line, I'm going to be happy with it, but I'm not truly happy! I wouldn't recommend this one personally and if I had to do it over I probably would have gone with the 40" Samsung instead, or paid a little more to get a 42" or 46" Samsung.
Update on 6/23/2010
After trying to make myself like this TV for 3 days I decided to return it. It is just that bad! Even with the tilt wall mount it still isn't good. The blacks are still very gray and there is so much bright gray coming thru the LCD panel that it just washes out everything and lights up the lower half of my bedroom brightly, even when there's no picture displayed. That and all the backlight purring out of the back onto the walls, which is now much more noticeable with the tilt mount.
I went ahead and ordered the 40" samsung that I probably should have got it the first place and Amazon is making the process easy. They said they will pick up the bad one when they deliver the new one.

Entry-level, but same PQ as sets costing +$300
Good: Budget priced 2010 model with BANG FOR BUCK (for 60Hz shoppers), very accurate colors out-of-the-box (AND a deep color tweaking menu), and surprisingly rich/dark blacks - as far as LCDs go
Bad: 60Hz means no 3D (boo!) but this has equal PQ in every other way as the 47LD550 42LD550 (yay!), the desktop stand assembly is far from the most secure stand, only 2 HDMI and 1 Component input (but RGB/VGA input is able to receive video color levels as well as PC color levels)
Bottom Line: I'm not a T.V. nerd, audio/videophile forum-junkie but I am fairly knowlegable regarding A/V and tech stuff I've had several HDTVs since 2006 and closely compared LCD sets by Samsung, LG, and Sony with Panasonic Viera plasmas for the 2008/2009 model years. The 42LD450 has BETTER PQ to my eyes than the LG model 42LG40 (the 120Hz 2009 model). 2010 > 2009, with 120Hz series' offering little more than the refresh rate and the gimmicky motion-smoothing feature ("TruMotion"). In comparing the 42LD550 and the 42LD450, they both calibrated almost identically (the only difference between the sets being that the 42LD550 has a 120Hz refresh rate).
Sony's KDL-40EX600 and KDL-40EX400 also fell short to this BARGAIN BIN LG SET. Don't take my word for it...actually, DO TAKE MY WORD FOR IT!!! Need a 42" 1080p?? Get the 120/240/480/600Hz model in 2-3 years when 3D technology is CHEAP AND VASTLY IMPROVED. 60Hz is all you need, and this TV will give you picture that would have carried a $1800 price tag in 2008.
If the #1 factor to you is having the best picture quality possible, simply don't go LCD. picture quality is the #1 most important factor to you, then let me advise you that NO LCD set will offer you superior PQ than other technologies.

Another great monitor from LG! Awesome picture! Acceptable sound, but who uses TV sound anymore? Optical out to my surround system and "Wow"! Sleek package. A multitude of connectivity options. Easy setup. Broke her in during a 2 hour session of Borderlands. As with my 32" LG 32LH40 monitor, awesome graphics! No blurring even during the most demanding video game action sequences! I'm sold on LG products! The $577 price directly from Amazon and the 4-day free shipping are additional selling points!
Oh yea, works great as a TV also!

Question : Iam planning to but an LG LCD TV may be scarlet or Jazz Scarlet Model is 32LG60UR and Jazz is 32LG60FR?
But the problem is... do u think LCD tv will gv me a clear quality of channels with cable TV or i hv to go for Tatasky or Big TV????
Answer:
If u have not already purchsed a LG LCD TV please don't if you want peace of mind. I have had a very bad experience with LG, I purchased a LG LCD TV in March 2007. In July 2008, the panel got spoilt, a couple of months after the warranty expired. Not only I had to replace the whole panel (it costs more than a New CRT TV), LG took more than 2 months to replace it. Further, the authorised service engineer wanted to do a underhand repair for the half the price and show on records that the panel was replaced. Again after another 2 months, the power supply board got spoilt. This also had to be replaced and it costs Rs. 2500. There are only three major parts in a LCD TV, the panel+module, power supply and PCB board. Two of them have already conked of on my brand new LCD TV. The total costs of the TV to me after the two repairs is in the range of Rs.60,000!!!. If youwant peace please go for a Sony Bravia, stay away from LG.

Your VCR was not made to record DIGITAL TV CHANNELS....Only the standard TV channels...You'll have to find a TIVO with a Digital Tuner to do what you want it to do...I personally prefer the cable box with the DVR built into it.....it is much easier to use ....

Question : How can I remove a scratch from the screen of my LG LCD tv ? PLEASE MY HUSBAND WILL GO NUTS !!?
Please help me ! My kids sorta scratched the screen and my husband is gonna go NUTS ! Is there anyway I can remove it or make it unnoticable ? Please I appreciate it !!
Answer:
I would try a cleaner for lcd tvs and a microfiber cloth. Rub in small circles without pressing too hard. You may be able to buff it away if it is just a surface mark. Don't press hard (you could really damage the lcd) or use a regular spray that could run.

Question : My LG LCD TV that I purchased today has a shaky blur sometimes?
I just hooked the tv up and I'm playing a dvd and the picture keeps blurring with shaky-ness. It's odd.. what can I do to fix this? Should I take it back to Best Buy? It's a 32 inch LG Class TV.
Answer:
Test it with other inputs, as many as possible: antenna, cable or satellite box, game box, etc. With antenna or cable/satellite box, look at various channels. Does everything shake, or just when you're playing a DVD?If it's everything, take it back. If only the DVD, that's where your problem is.

Question : I have a LG Lcd tv and it has XD Engine, should I have it on or off?
some sites say about turning tv enhauncements off?
Answer:
Everything I've seen on the feature seems to imply its going to be more personal taste than anything else. Like in theory it should be improving the image and so it kind of should be on. But some people dislike the manner in which it works and after having tried it, felt turning it off gave them the better overall image out of their LG. So you should do the same. Leave it on at times and off at times and see how your eyes find its impact (positive or negative). Either choice you make is equally valid. The key is that its your choice. Its your TV, not someone else.

Question : what set up do you have for your lg lcd tv?
I have just bought an LCD tv made by LG, 5020 is the serial number. The picture is rubbish, so i have been playing around with the back light/contrast/colour/brightness/ settings which range in value from 1-100. I am trying to find a good mix for normal viewing. can anyone give me the settings the use to have a good clear picture which doesn't look like an oil painting? thanks
Answer:
New LCD's are built for High Definition broadcast, standard broadcasts will be poor, sorry if its not what you want to hear but that is the limitation of LCD. If you have had it for less than 28days send it back and consider buying a plasma instead. I recommend Panasonic, I have 3 and am really happy with them. Look at the link I have sent.....sale of the century!!!!!
