Picture Okay, Sound Iffy
Bought this TV for the kitchen, it's the perfect size. Product arrived promptly and well-packaged. Setup was easy, but I didn't find the auto picture adjustment that helpful or accurate. Manual picture controls were easy enough to use. Picture is sharp and color saturation is natural looking. I'm a bit disappointed by the fall-off in contrast when viewed from even a modest angle, but I can live with that.
I'd read reviews of the audio limitations of this set, and was willing to accept them as I have a micro-bookshelf receiver and speakers that I intended to use with the set's audio output jacks. That didn't turn out to be possible. All of the specifications I read for this set specified that it had both analog and digital audio outputs. That spec. was one of the set's selling points for me. Unless, they're well disguised, though, they just don't exist. So buyers beware on this. The lack of external audio output is the main reason I give this set 4 stars instead of 5. (Note: about the only workaround I've found for the audio is to plug the audio output from a satellite or cable modem directly into the external amplifier. The downside to that is that it takes 2 remotes to run the set. One devoted solely to volume control. I'm not wonky enough to make the satellite remote control the bookshelf receiver and the TV.)

T.V. Without a show.
I liked the looks of the Television. but it didn't work,"NO PICTURE". Really good sound though. kind of reminded me of when i was a kid listening to the radio shows.Sound but no PICTURE. I found a packing slip from where another customer had sent it back. so I would suspect that it was known that it didn't work and it was sold anyway.VERY,VERY BAD.I guess you just have to be careful of what you buy on here.

Good, inexpensive television. LG 22LH20
I had a few problems and had to return the first television. I think the first tv had a problem with the ballast on the back light. Kudos to Amazon Return policy, I had a new tv faster than I was able to ship the first one back.
The television is good, but not great. I bought this for the kids room and it serves that purpose. I wall mounted it without any problems. It's light weight and has plenty of inputs. The kids have a Wii console connected to the composite video and a digital satellite receiver using HDMI.
The picture is good and the sound quality is good. Overall, I'm pleased with the purchase. My kids can watch Disney while I watch Deadwood. Everyone is happy.

Great TV for a low price
I purchased this TV to replace a 20" one from another manufacturer & I cannot believe how much better this LG is in comparison. The sound is awsome & you can customize the settings so the voices are heard over background effects / noise without having to turn the volume way up. The color & clarity of images is also so much better than my last tv... people shown closeup are actually the skin color that they should be, not an orange-ish color. Setting this up with DirecTV was no problem and I have not found anything about this TV that I don't like. This was my first LG purchase & based on how happy I am with the TV, I would not think twice before getting other LG electronics.

Great Quality, Great Price
The LG 22-inch HDTV is ideal for the bedroom or study. Easy to handle at 15 pounds, it requires no assembly and is up and running (cable) in 5 minutes. The picture is razor sharp and brilliant, the sound quality good, though volume limited, the remote convenient. The price is spectacular! I could not be more pleased.

Nice TV for the price paid
I've been using this TV for almost 2 months now and so far it has been great for the most part, the picture quality, the features, and many others. I connected my blue ray player to one of the HDMI inputs and played the blue ray disc (Planet Earth) and all I can say was WOW! The only complaint I have with this TV would be that there was no traditional RCA analog output connectors, and for such a large 55" TV the sound from the built-in speakers was quite weak even at max setting. This mean connecting an amplified HT receiver a must if you want decent sound from the material that you are watching. But overall I'm quite happy with the purchase considering the price I paid (around $1,500 no TAX and free shipping) and what I got in return.

So stoked wih my LG!
After looking at many stores for a new flat screen, I found this identical TV locally, literally listed at $1000 than I paid for it n Amazon...it has been on my wall for a month now...and I love it...it rocks. What a great, great picture...NFL never looked so good, movies never looked so good. and the price was AWESOME!

LG is not ready to support this product yet
I selected this specific television because of the integrated Netflix player. Set up took literally minutes and everything worked great until I tried to activate the built in Netflix player. I was not able to get an activation code from netflix because, although the tv could hit my home network and the internet, the player was unable to log into the Netflix activation server. I first called Netflix and was transfered to LG customer support, who were more interested in getting my phone number than working through the issue. We fumbled through a couple of things becore they informed me that they would need to send out a service tech and I would have to be available for 4 hours on a Tuesday for them to show up. Not finding this acceptable, I reached out to Netflix again. This time I got someone on the level 2 helpdesk who worked with me for about an hour on network things. Basically we determined that there was nothing wrong with my network, but that the problem resided in the television. He was willing to sit on the phone another hour with me while we brought up the LG tech on what had been done. After he walked through several remedial steps that didn't really have anything to do with the situation, the LG tech gave up and tried to schedule another on site visit. I insisted on talking to a supervisor who informed me that there was no Level 2 help desk for LG. After I pressed hard enough, she put me on hold and called someone she knew in Advanced techncal support (aparently an internal departmement). I got a promise for some to call me back. Everyone I had talked to was extremely friendly and told me over and over they wanted to help, but their depth of knowledge on this product was very weak.
After spending an hour with the advanced technical guys, they finally conceeded that they had never actaully set up a Netflix connection, but had seen one working. They also told me that there are known issues with Belkin routers (of course, that is the router I use.) I now have no less than 6 hours invested in getting Netflix to work on this tv and it still doesn't. I will now have to wait for a field tech to come out, do exactly the same things I've done over the last 6 hours and then inform me that I'll need a new board or something, but it'll have to be ordered. I should note that the other web applications integrated into the television work great, it's a shame I didn't buy the TV for them.
I already have a Roku Netflix player (it's even wireless) and I get great results on my Toshiba plasma TV. I should have just bought the tv I really wanted and went with a second Roku device for the new television.
UPDATE - After working with an authorized repair company, the main mother board was replaced and all issues with NETFLIX connectivity were resolved. I am still using the Belkin router and it works like a charm. There were some issues also with the speakers (they crackled at certain frequencies) but once they were replaced, everything seems to be working well.

LG 37LG60 37" with 120Hz
I bought this LG Scarlet TV from Amazon (through Tiger Direct) for $899 with FREE shipping on a Wednesday afternoon and it was delivered by Monday afternoon!!! It was double boxed so everything was safe and secure. It was super easy to set-up (and I'm not one for doing that type of thing) and the picture is FREAKING AMAZING!! The TV has many options for customizing your viewing experience! I love the red back and accents on the stand, as it goes wonderfully in my red and black living room. Make sure you don't forget the HDMI cables! I'm not noticing any problem with the sound, as I have read in other reviews of this product. This is a great tv at a wonderful price and I am SUPER happy with my decision.

Best in it's category
Let's get the bad part over with first. The only complaint I have about this TV is the sound. It goes from 0-100, but there is virtually no difference once you get past about 55. It's fine at night, but I have to use my surround sound system in the day. This is by no means a deal-breaker though, since poor sound is a problem with just about every flat panel TV no matter how much you spend. I bought this TV for three reasons. First and foremost: picture quality. In it's category the 37LG60 is unsurpassed, as far as LCD TVs go. I did three months of research before making this purchase. Of all the LCD TVs I looked at this one had the best stats. It has 120 Hz Trumotion. Sharp, Samsung, and Sony TV's of the same size only had 60 Hz. Sharp has a 37" TV with 120 Hz, but it cost $200 more, and had lots of bad reviews. The dynamic contrast ratio is 50,000:1. The best of the other brands was 30,000:1. At 2.7 ms the refresh rate is twice as fast as its competitors. It has four HDMI ports while most others only have as many as three, some only two. What made this TV even more enticing was the price. At $899 it was comparable if not cheaper than all the sets in its category. This is my first HDTV but I know a quality picture when I see one. A friend has a 40" Sony S-series and he likes my picture better. He also paid about $500 more than I did. Unfortunately I didn't see many of this model available, but if you can find one buy it. This is the best 37" 1080p LCD TV on the market. I hear there is a 61 series coming out, but I'm sure it will be more expensive, although probably well worth it. I've had it for about a month and have had no problems. I will update in a couple of months.

Best HDTV Ever!!!
This is the best TV i have ever owned bar none, first off it's 1080p with 120 hertz refresh rate and 2.7ms response. I use it mainly for my PS3 for Blu-Ray and games both look freaking amazing with an HDMI cable ,and whatever you've read about the 120 hertz refresh it really does make a difference when playing COD 4,Bioshock,or any fast paced game absolutely no lag of streaking and there's no lag in the controls either. only thing you need to buy for this TV is an HDMI cable and a surround sound system because the speakers suck thats the only draw back. so if your a hardcore gamer or a movie buff this is the TV for you.

INCREDIBLE TV!!!!!!!!
You can't go wrong with this TV. I had my eye on it when I found out CompUSA/Tiger Direct had it for $899. Well, in February they had a 2 day sale over a weekend and dropped the price to $699. I didn't think twice. Bought it on the spot. This TV ranks right up there with my Samsung. I have to admit that I am a Samsung snob when it comes to TVs but this thing is awesome.

Great HDTV for the price!
After trying to decide on which size television would best fit our entertainment center, I am glad I settled on this one. Initially I leaned toward a JVC 42" HDTV at Sams club. The physical size would have been tight in the Ent. Center we have. JVC didn't offer a 40" set so I looked at the LG brand. I am seeing them on many news broadcast stations in our area used as monitors at the various stations. Also we have several of them at my place of work. We had an AKAI which didn't last long. Also at our local hospital they have them throughout the different waiting areas. After reading the reviews and specs. I decided to go with the 37" LG. The one thing that was impressive was the high contrast ratio for the price. I have had the set for a little over a month and I enjoy the picture quality. The Standard broadcast channels do no justice to the set and I only prefer to watch the HD channels. Cons of this set are the sound. The internal speakers are not of that great of quality. I would like to hook it up to our Receiver but it only has inputs for analog signals. The LG set has digital audio outputs. Therefore you are forced to invest in a surround sound system with digital inputs. That I will probably do later. Right now I am looking for a good quality and priced blueray player. Overall it is a good set for the money and I would recommend it to anyone looking to buy a new HDTV. I researched Consumer reports first and looked at both quality and dependability. The Samsung sets were rated high for picture quality but had a high rate of service calls for repairs. The JVC set had a much lower rate for service problems. After owning a 32" JVC set that is 6 years old and having good luck with it that is why I leaned toward a JVC brand. My living room is 15' x 24' and the 37" set is just fine for viewing in our house. Personally I try to always buy American made products but, there aren't many sets manufactured here. Some are assembled here but not many.

Questions & Answers
Question : LCD TV LG keeps switching to stand by mode each time?
Please help. My lcd tv lg 32lc56 keeps going on stand by mode, when it is switched on. If given a rest and then switched on, it somtimes play for a longer time and then switches again to stand by mode. Please assist as i cannot find anyone to help me. I have bought the TV from UK and I reside in Mauritius, so i cannot get any after sales service.
Answer:
That sucks! No nearby servicers.....Right now your TV is shutting down due to a failure in the balancer's feedback circuitry....or it can be due to a fluctuating voltage regulator in the inverter circuit....And you need an LG servicer to identify the failure point....Call LG, explain the problem you have finding a nearby service facility, they may be able to research, and possibly authorize a nearby TV repair station to do the work for them.

Question : what set up do you have for your lg lcd tv?
I have just bought an LCD tv made by LG, 5020 is the serial number. The picture is rubbish, so i have been playing around with the back light/contrast/colour/brightness/ settings which range in value from 1-100. I am trying to find a good mix for normal viewing. can anyone give me the settings the use to have a good clear picture which doesn't look like an oil painting? thanks
Answer:
New LCD's are built for High Definition broadcast, standard broadcasts will be poor, sorry if its not what you want to hear but that is the limitation of LCD. If you have had it for less than 28days send it back and consider buying a plasma instead. I recommend Panasonic, I have 3 and am really happy with them. Look at the link I have sent.....sale of the century!!!!!

Question : What would make an LG LCD TV go pop and the picture fade? Can this be fixed?
We were just watching TV and then heard a pop and the picture almost totally disappeared . We tried to see if a DVD would work and nothing. This really sucks cause it could be almost $4,000 down the drain!PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!PS>>>> My bf just turned it on and there was yet another pop and now we can't see anything!!!!!!!!!
Answer:
All LCD Tvs are panels which are backlit with a white Flourescent tube. From what you have described, the POP sound seems to be the Flourescent tube bursting. I am sure a good technician can open the back panel, and replace the Tube, which should not cost you much.

Question : Questions about features of LG LCD TV?
Hi, Just bought a 37" LG LCD TV. The instruction book is absolutely useless. You get a huge directory of a thing then you find out that only ten pages are in English.Anyway, just wondering how I can get my devices that are plugged in via scart leads to come up automatically when I turn them on. They did it on my old TV but now I have to switch the thing on then go into the menu etc. to get it up.Also, just flicking through the menu I found a feature called "Auto Volume" in the sound category. How does this work? Model No. 37LC46-ZCThanks.
Answer:
You gotta do what you gotta do.The auto volume keeps everything at the same level so you don't get blasted out of your chair when a commercial comes on.
|
Question : Which LG LCD TV has better picture quality The LG 47LH40 or the LG 47LD520?
and overall which is a better TV?
Answer:
It looks like the 47LH40 was discontinued and the 47LD520 replaces it. Not sure how much difference dynamic contrast ratio makes between 70,000:1 and 100,000:1, or where that even comes into play. But everything else looks similar.I am using a 32LH40 as a computer monitor with LG BD370 BluRay player, and like it.So if you can get a closeout deal on the 47LH40, go for it.

Question : Does LG make a good lcd tv?
There is a nice 52" LG LCD tv on sale and I'm thinking about getting it but haven't heard much about LG tv's. Is this a reliable tv? Anyone have one? Thanks!
Answer:
Very decent televison. I'd say LG is second tier/B grade.Your A grade TV's will be Sony, Samsung and Sharp.Depending on the price the tv you are looking at should be well worth it.

Question : My LG LCD TV that I purchased today has a shaky blur sometimes?
I just hooked the tv up and I'm playing a dvd and the picture keeps blurring with shaky-ness. It's odd.. what can I do to fix this? Should I take it back to Best Buy? It's a 32 inch LG Class TV.
Answer:
Test it with other inputs, as many as possible: antenna, cable or satellite box, game box, etc. With antenna or cable/satellite box, look at various channels. Does everything shake, or just when you're playing a DVD?If it's everything, take it back. If only the DVD, that's where your problem is.
