LG 55 INCH 240 TRU-MOTION
This was a great purchase. The cost was $800 less than the same item in local stores. The delivery person actually off loaded the set and did total set up to make sure that it worked. The only issue I have with this purchase is that the operation manual is on CD (as most items are these days) so its a hassle to open up the CD when questions arise on operation. Other than this minor item I have had no issues with this purchase.
PS- The 120 Mhz version of this set is still tracking at a HIGHER cost in local retail stores than the online price for the 240 Mhz version.

Phenomenal TV
We purchased this TV a few months ago and have been completely satisfied with it along with the customer service from Amazon. We bought it from Amazon and after 2 weeks the screen went black. We called Amazon and they had a new TV delivered to us within about 4 days. The new one has been great and problem free. The picture is amazing and once you watch True Motion television you can't ever watch "normal" tv again. Great investment. Great job on customer support Amazon.

A great addition to our family room!
First of all, I've only had this TV for about one week. I can't really comment on this TV's reliability, but I am hoping this TV will prove to be as glitch-free as my other LG 47" LCD TV purchased almost three years ago.
For those who are interested in pricing, I purchase this TV directly from Amazon for $1599 with free delivery. The pricing had fluctuated wildly from $1599 to $2199 for about a month prior to my purchase in late March 2010.
I don't intend on covering the technical specs because they've been covered by other reviewers. For me, the biggest worry with this TV has been the notorious lip-sync issue. I am glad to say that I didn't experience any problems connecting either the Blu-ray player or the WD TV Live media player using HDMI cables on hand. I do want to make clear that I don't subscribe to cable or have a complicated audio setup.
Here are some general observations:
PROS: + No visible motion blur. This TV streams sports and fast action sequences beautifully. + Four HDMI connections. + Interface that auto detects activated device like a Blu-ray player and prompts you to switch to that input device. + Better contrast ratio than my previous LG LCD. + Very detailed picture adjustments. The picture adjustment menu seems to go on and on. + Variable energy savings mode.
CONS: - As others have commented, the sound is probably the biggest drawback, but one can always supplement with a surround system or even just a soundbar using an optical cable or HDMI connection. - No accompanying menual. Only an enclosed CD with pdf documentations.
Overall, I am very happy with the purchase. Hope this review helps those people who are sitting on the fence because of the lip-sync issue.

It doesn't get much better for the $$
Nice TV, crisp picture, colors are vibrant with streaming action (1080i/p mode). When it comes to the refresh rate, I could not tell the difference from the 120Hz model so I'm not convinced there's an improvement. The on-screen menus are intuitive and easily accessible. Predefined viewing modes make it easy to adjust for lighting conditions without going through the tedious process of manually adjusting backlight and color levels.
Overall a great buy.

LH55LH TV
I looked far and wide to try to find a TV that comes close to the features that this LH55LH has for the money. Amazon.com was far and away the lowest price when everything was considered. I even went to the local dealer to look see what I was buying and gave them the price I could get on line, with free shipping, delivered to my home and the owner informed me that he paid more than that for the ones he sells in his store and that there in no way any one can sell for that price and he would guarantee me that I cannot buy it for that price either, because when I submit the order, they will add this and that and other things to the price. The price quoted is the price I paid and it was delivered in a timely fashion to my living room and brand-new in the factory box. How you do it, I don't know, but keep up the good work and I'll use you again when I need to purchase something else. Amazon.com is amazing!

HDTV
Ww have been using this HDTV for some time now and found the picture quality better than our other HDTV. Controls are a little odd at first but easy to use. It is just the right size for our living room. It blends well with the decor without overwhelming the atmosphere. When people talk to each other they actually look at each other, not some monstrous screen. As with most HDTVs you enjoy the movie much more and notice things that you never see on the older analog sets.

Fantastic buy
This was my first HDTV and I couldn't be happier with it. I have owned it now for 3 months and I am still amazed at the picture quality. It looks as good as Samsung or Sony to me and is much cheaper. I got the 120 hz version because I watch a lot of sports, but I don't really use that setting much. Sports, so far, have looked great without turning the TruMotion on. And, when it is on, other programs look like soap operas - so I generally leave it off. I can't really comment the quality of the audio, as I hooked it up to my surround sound on day 1. I'm not fond of the gloss black frame, but that's just a personal preference - I'm not too fond of shiny/glossy stuff. I'd rather it be understated. The picture quality is all that really matters at the end of the day, and that is spectacular. It also has a nice feature (maybe most HDTVs do, I don't know) where you can set the picture ratio to change with the program to it's optimal/intended setting. That way, you don't get the stretched out images that I see on a lot of people's HDTVs. The High-Def channels look amazing and the other channels (I have cable) look great as well. Movies on the DVD player (standard, not Blu-Ray) look really good, too. The only thing that looks crummy are some of the locally produced commercials - and I don't care what the commercials look like, personally. I would highly recommend this TV to family, friends and anyone else in the market.
Also, I bought this through Amazon, and the delivery guy offered to help me set it up, which was nice. I declined, but it was nice to have the option.

Good tv and delivery service
Was hesitant to order such a expensive product on line and did not know what to expect with delivery. Because it was under 40inch thought the lcd would have just been delivered to the door and that was that. Instead the delivery company called ahead of time to set a delivery time and hooked up the cable to make sure all worked. Very happy with the lcd and really happy with delivery. Plan on ordering my second tv from Amazon

Fantastic Television!
I could not be happier with this LG 37-inch 1080p 120Hz television. I did my research for a long while before making this purchase, and the price was unbeatable for all of the features that this model offers. The 1080p was a priority for me, as well as the 120Hz. I watch a great deal of sports so this feature was a must-have! The picture quality is terrific, and the overall appearance of the television is sleek and stylish. The set-up was very easy as well. The 37-inch is hard to find elsewhere, and it is perfect for the size of my living room. I would recommend this television without hesitation!

Excellent HD TV
My 37" LG HDTV arrived promptly and was cleverly packaged for protection in shipping. The shipping agency used by Amazon delivered the box by appointment so there was no chance of loss. Assembly was simple: only a few high quality screws to insert and secure to attach the base. The set operated perfectly from the moment it was plugged in. It comes with multiple in-puts, and the type of input is changed with a clear on-screen menu. The picture quality was outstanding without any adjustment at all. If my experience is typical, LG deserves the highest praise.

Awsome LG TV
This is my first LCD Tv but I have owned a Sony Vega HD for several years. This one is mounted over the fireplace and I could not ask for a better picture. Yes you get a little edge issue when the room is completely dark but that was expected due to the reviews that I had read. It is a must to turn off the Motion technolgy. Great buy!

LG TV should be a top consideration for LCD shoppers
I got this TV for my bedroom, mainly because I got the LG 55LH40 55-Inch 1080p 120Hz LCD HDTV, Gloss Black for the living room, and it was awesome.
Both TVs have a beautiful picture, and the sound is fine (to me) without attaching a surround sound system. I think I'm going with LG products on TV's and Blu-ray players for the foreseeable future, as the quality appears to excellent. Hopefully, they won't become like Sony and after many years let everything go to pot. I can't bring myself to buy anything Sony anymore, with all the products that I've had by them more recently that fell apart far too soon.
Just a word about the delivery if bought through Amazon -- it was a wonderful experience with the first one, the 55 inch. I was able to schedule a delivery time range, and when they brought it, they took everything out of the box, set it up, and took all the trash away, so no TV box out for trash pickup advertising to everyone what we got. However, on the 47 inch, it was a one-man job through a different delivery service, Pilot, and it was not white-glove -- he just left it with us inside the door. Regardless, I would buy a TV from Amazon again in a heartbeat, if I need one. The savings is too good, with prices better than local and no tax usually.
I would also suggest the LG BD 370 Network Blu-ray Disc Player for those in the market for a Blu-ray player, especially with Netflix streaming.

Great quality and price.
I've owned this for about 8 months and everything has been great. The only complaint would be the built in speaker sound is weak but I guess it is the case with all flat panel TVs. You would need an external speaker system if you want a decent sound quality but I mainly watch TV shows over the air so it is (barely) fine for me.

No Ordinary "Entry Level" HDTV
To begin with, though I'm an ardent film collector, this LG television is my first foray into the HDTV market. It's replacing a 27" RCA CRT, a six year old television that still functions perfectly. However, after finally aquiring a PS3 Slim and attempting to get into gaming, I found my poor CRT was simply out of its league. Also, now that many Blu-Ray prices are dropping (particularly on older titles), I thought it'd be great to have a system capable of handling proper Blu-Ray transfers of favorite films like "The Road Warrior", "Outland", and "Barry Lyndon" (all of which never had a proper restoration on DVD, and two of which are sadly still unavailable on Blu).
For those who have no idea where to begin understanding what to look for in a HDTV, CNET is an invaluable research resource. Their in-depth reviews of various models are some of the most helpful out there (though they do not have one for this particular unit). Also of interest are their articles that explain in detail what difference certain features make and what HDMI cable you should buy (seriously, don't spend more than $10). After doing my due diligence, I decided this LG model struck the absolute best balance between low price, huge screen size, and abundance of higher-end specs.
Setup was a breeze, all that's required is a screwdriver to screw in the included base. I was able to install the base and setup the TV myself, but considering this unit weighs around sixty pounds you may want someone else to assist (the delivery driver will usually help). Then it's just a simple matter of plug-and-play. There's also a cover for the bottom stand hole in case your unit will be wall-mounted. The menus are very user-friendly and easy to navigate, and there's even instructions included directly on the TV. There is a small setup booklet included, but the bulk of the manual is on an Abobe Acrobat file in the included CD-ROM. No issues with the remote either, the buttons are nice sized and well mapped-out.
A fatal error many frugal yet selective television consumers make is buying a cheaper entry-level HDTV like this and expecting it to somehow perform like a $3500 plasma unit. It's just not going to happen. However, considering the gorgeous picture on this model and the relatively low price tag, it's difficult to justify paying more for a "better" LCD or a potentially problematic plasma. For instance, I considered some of the new LED LCD models, many of which offer a refresh rate of 240. But I simply couldn't make a discernable distinction when compared to this model (which has a rate of 120), and the image simply wasn't impressive enough to warrant the massive price tag.
The Blu-Rays I've tested (which included "Quantum of Solace", "Mongol: The Rise of Genghis Khan", "The Phantom", and "Glory") all looked - in a word - incredible. The sheen of clarity on each print was jaw-dropping (though "Glory" has a good deal of grain still present). DVDs look great as well, just not as sharp as Blu-Rays. My wife and I spent an entire Saturday going through the extended edition DVDs of the "Lord of the Rings" trilogy on this model, and I simply have no complaints to report. The screen is large enough to provide a cinematic effect (especially in a bedroom), the movement onscreen was fluid, and the colors leaped off the screen. Even a series like "Battlestar Galactica", where the picture was intentionally degraded to give it a 'grittier' feel, looks gorgeous on plain-jane DVD.
The TruMotion feature isn't the failed experiment so many reviewers claim it to be. Under the correct circumstances, such as a high definition NFL game, the effect works wonderfully. Films, however, aren't quite built for this sort of thing. The TruMotion feature effectively removes the atmospheric sheen on the film print to the extent that it causes certain scenes to look amateurish, as if shot on home video. It's difficult to explain without example, but if you visit a floor model at a local store, many retailers will let customers toggle with the settings.
Also, regarding the infamous "lip synch" issue, I've watched hours of cable in addition to multiple DVD and Blu-Rays and I haven't had a single problem. My model was manufactured in February 2010, so it's possible they've updated the firmware on the latest models. In fact, I really can't find any serious faults with this model, it's as if this unit was made specifically for my needs. Perhaps the greatest compliment I can pay to this model is to say that I don't feel as if I bought an "entry level" television. For now, it's five well-earned stars, I'll update later if any issues arise.

47" LCD LG 47LH40 -- Screen Issues
Ordered from Amazon.com on 7 April, was delivered on the 14th. "White-glove" installation team unpacked the TV, mounted on it's stand, connected all the cables, and took the packing material away. A+ on delivery. That being said, once the TV was in place and powered on, the left half of the screen was very gray and bright, while the right half was perfect. In addition, the left side had significant "ghosting". I called LG support, who ran through a number of suggestions, including unplugging, holding the power button for 30 seconds, re-calibrating, all to no avail. LG contacted a local technician, who promptly called, listened to the symptoms, and promptly told me that I would likely be better off just returning this for another TV, although they'll still send someone out to inspect next week. 4 out of 5, however, as otherwise, the TV installed and configured very easily, and all features appear to be as advertised. I look forward to having a functioning unit to enjoy.

LG's Top-of-the-line LCD HDTV series delivers superior picture quality, including a 5:000,000:1 contrast ratio, in an ultra-slim design (less than 1" at its thinnest point). Unlike LCD LED HDTVs that use "edge" lighting technology, LG's LHX uses a full array of LED backlights with local dimming technology for precise picture control-resulting in deeper blacks and a wide color gamut. And, because it's wireless, the LHX allows for greater room design flexibility.
Customer Review :
Wireless makes my TV look great over the fireplace
The number one reason why I got this unit was for the size and the wireless HD capabilities. I hang this unit over the fireplace with Sanus VMPL50B wallmount. The TV is about 60lbs, so you will need a friend to help you hang it up on the wall. The screws for wall mounting was already attach to the TV which was great. Once I have on the wall and after I plug in the power behind the TV, NO MORE other wires are needed. I put the wireless media box which came with the set about 10 feet away with no direct line of sight and was able to show HD tv with great clarity WIRELESSly... this is a great feature.
I have wireless phone, internet and head sets which did not cause any interference with this TV.
The 55LHX's lg logo on the TV is where the TV's receiver is, so if you stand right in front, you will see some static or no picture as you are no blocking the signal. But, I will know to avoid to stand right in front of the TV :)
The viewing angle is good, I tilt it downwards about 12 degrees for less glare. The TV screen do not reflect much, but the black frame does.
Just a note, with the 240HZ True motion on, sports looks very life like; but on movies it looks 3D ish, so shut I had to shut it off. Now I know why a 240Hz tv can possibly view 3d movies.
I have a Pioneer plasma which still looks way better than this TV, but this TV is as good if not better than my sharp Aquos. So, maybe its a settings thing.
There are lots of settings, but I have yet to find the best one, so please leave me a comment if you know what the best settings are....
GL.

Great TV but too expensive at Amazon
This is a perfect HDTV set with a great wireless media console which avoids the necessity of having a million wires going up to the screen unit. The wireless connection to the screen works flawlessly with absolutely no interference-induced flickering, but I have my console right in front of the set. Come to think of it, where else would I put it when I want to control the television set while I am watching it?
The picture is sharp and bright, and it has loads of wonderful features. It is backlit with local dimming, and this set really does have "blacker blacks." The contrast ratio is 5 million to one. Setup was a breeze.
The only thing I want to mention is that Best Buy is selling this same HDTV for $2999.98 including delivery and setup, five hundred dollars cheaper than Amazon is offering it. That is a surprise to me, because Amazon normally has the lowest prices.

My first HDTV
This is the first HDTV I have ever purchased. It certainly won't be the last. I thought I would have to buy a new stereo system to go with it, but the speakers are incredible. The picture is awesome, as well. Shipped quickly, and was easy to set up. The only complaint I have is that it doesn't "agree" with some of the settings on my cable box. Think it's more the fault of the cable box, and I still get all of my HD channels on the settings that do work.

EXCELLENT TV!!!!!!
This is a great tv!!! I shopped for over 3 months both on the internet and in stores to make sure I was getting the best for my money before I made my purchase. I am very glad that I ultimatley chose this LG 47LH30. The HD looks amazing on this tv and the price is fair for an upper echelon brand like LG. If you are in the market for a new HD tv, I really think you should have a look at this one because it is 5 star quality all around. Be confident when purchasing this tv, it's worth every dime.
Rating :
For the price it can't be beat, period.
I consider myself an information hound. I am the type of person who researches model numbers and such before buying just about anything. The first thing that caught my eye about this LG LCD was admittedly the price. $750 for a 47inch lcd, are you for real? Then I was concerned that this was an older model with less features or substandard specs for this price. However after reading several reviews and debating the pros and cons we decided to go ahead with the purchase and I will say am very pleasantly surprised with the product.
First off I will say that Amazons shipping service was very quick and timely. The shipper gave us a contact number and communicated very well during shipping. The tv was delivered on time as promised and in superb condition with nare a scratch on the box.
The tv itself is a snap to set up, slide it out the box, put the base stand in it, tighten 4 screws and behold, you are done. 3 hdmi inputs were perfect for my cable, dvd and Wii and other connections are available as well. One thing i will say, ****if you are hooking this tv up to a home theater system, PLEASE make sure to purchase an optical audio cable, there are NO "AUDIO OUT" jacks on this tv. I bought one also here on Amazon for about 5 bucks and it sounds AMAZING with our Kenwood HT system. Otherwise you'd have to connect your audio through your dvd player and wont be able to watch regular "tv" in surround sound.
The television itself has many many options with regard to adjusting the picture and I suggest taking the time to do so. I spent maybe 30 minutes doing this and the time was well worth it. My dvds look flawless, my HD cable channels are clean and my nintendo wii is a heck of a draw with that big beautiful 47 inch screen.
The set does seem to attract dust rather easily and does come with a cloth for cleaning. The stand seems a bit wobbly and my wife was concerned with our little ones running back and forth in front the tv but so far everything seems to be just fine.
To sum it up, this is a great great deal for the price. No you are not getting top of the line electronics or materials, but LG has built a reputation on making good looking and well sounding televisions and this one is no exception. Well worth the money and a beautiful product that me and my family are enjoying to the absolute fullest.

Bait and switch
When they first made this TV and when every profession review of this TV was made, it was an awesome TV. Then without telling anyone, LG switched panels from their own LG made high quality IPS panel to a AUO non-IPS middle of the road panel. It was still a good TV, but not close to the earlier ones. Then right before I bought this TV, LG switched out the panels again to a very low quality, bottom of the barrel Chi-Mei panel. Bad colors, bad blacks, smearing, ghosting, and bad response time. The original panel had bad blacks as well, but excellent colors and one of the lowest response times for a TV with no smearing or ghosting.
Don't buy this TV expecting a high quality TV like the profession reviews say. Only buy this expecting cheap low quality TV. The only way to tell what panel you have is to shine a flashlight through the back grills of the TV and look for a sticker that says LG, AUO, or Chi-Mei.
I can't comment on the sound quality as I've only had it hooked up to my PC so far and I used my PC speakers.
Rating :
Great quality picture - lacks the sound without a boost
This set is extremely easy to use, has all the right parts and truly looks great when fired up. The sound is a little lacking, but thats only because I am still running stock sound. Other than that, I am extremely happy with this purchase and would buy another LG in a heartbeat.

Question : How can I remove a scratch from the screen of my LG LCD tv ? PLEASE MY HUSBAND WILL GO NUTS !!?
Please help me ! My kids sorta scratched the screen and my husband is gonna go NUTS ! Is there anyway I can remove it or make it unnoticable ? Please I appreciate it !!
Answer:
I would try a cleaner for lcd tvs and a microfiber cloth. Rub in small circles without pressing too hard. You may be able to buff it away if it is just a surface mark. Don't press hard (you could really damage the lcd) or use a regular spray that could run.

Question : I have a LG Lcd tv and it has XD Engine, should I have it on or off?
some sites say about turning tv enhauncements off?
Answer:
Everything I've seen on the feature seems to imply its going to be more personal taste than anything else. Like in theory it should be improving the image and so it kind of should be on. But some people dislike the manner in which it works and after having tried it, felt turning it off gave them the better overall image out of their LG. So you should do the same. Leave it on at times and off at times and see how your eyes find its impact (positive or negative). Either choice you make is equally valid. The key is that its your choice. Its your TV, not someone else.

Question : How to you hang a 42" LG LCD tv on the wall?
I am trying to help do this for a friend. I understand that first you have to remove the TV from the stand, and have a wall mount for that size of tv. However, it doesn't seem to be the type of TV that this made for mounting on the wall. Is there something I am missing. I confess, projects like this aren't my specialty. Do yourself a favor and pay someone to do it for you. This is the reason they have professional installers.

Question : How to connect Foxtel to an LG Scarlet LCD TV?
Just recently bought an LG brand 'Scarlet' LCD TV, flat screen, thin affair and I can get tvs and dvds on it, but not my Foxtel! I've tried reading the manual, but it's more confusing than helpful really, I'm usually okay with this sort of thing, but the new technology has even me baffled. Is it a channel tuning thing or might I have a plug mis-connected?
Answer:
ok i will try to explain this as simple as i canlook at the back of your foxtell back you should see audio and video out ..connect them to you "in" to theck of your tv.. one will say cable or componte 1 2 3 etc on might say attena on or to will say AV1 and AV2connect to one of those then go to your remote click your input and then highlight the one you hooked it up to and click enter them it will should workhas a LG LCD

Question : How to replace a Main Board in a LG 32" LCD TV?
I have a 1 year old LG 32" LCD TV. When turned on it has sound, back light, & power just no picture. The Lg service center said it was the main board. Now I have a replacement board and was wondering if it would be hard to change it myself or should I take it to a service center???
Answer:
Changing is simple..no problem..but when it doesn't work even after change there is the problem..so it's better to leave the job the service center..by doing that may be can get at least a six months repair warranty..

Question : Questions about features of LG LCD TV?
Hi, Just bought a 37" LG LCD TV. The instruction book is absolutely useless. You get a huge directory of a thing then you find out that only ten pages are in English.Anyway, just wondering how I can get my devices that are plugged in via scart leads to come up automatically when I turn them on. They did it on my old TV but now I have to switch the thing on then go into the menu etc. to get it up.Also, just flicking through the menu I found a feature called "Auto Volume" in the sound category. How does this work? Model No. 37LC46-ZCThanks.
Answer:
You gotta do what you gotta do.The auto volume keeps everything at the same level so you don't get blasted out of your chair when a commercial comes on.
