Razor Sharp Picture

Purchased this TV for master bedroom. Perfect size as room is quite large, 19' x 20', and you can easily see the picture and read the screen text from the bed. Colors and clarity as well as resolution are outstanding. TV arrived in a couple of days and setup was easy. Great value from Amazon....

Very good

Very good LCD Tv.
Escellent image, functions
The speakers' sound is too weak, but if you connect with a home theater it won't be any problem.

Superb TV - after 1 year of use.

I bought this TV in Christmas '08 for my wife for use in our Master Bedroom. After a year, I have nothing but good things to say.

I did a pretty good bit of research on this product, having owned a Panasonic 42" plasma prior to this. I got it in conjunction with another Panasonic 37" LCD for Christmas, and both are spectacular. The hue/green tone problems mentioned in the "most helpful negative review" just don't play out with our TV. The colors pop, the screen is bright, and the sound is very good. If I was sitting 3 inches from the TV with high-tech color calibration gadgets, could I uncover some imperfection? I suppose so.. but would it matter?

For everyday use, this TV delivers a crystal-clear image that is light-years above the CRTs of recent memory. If you have a nice source (such as DirecTV HD boxes), a TV this size looks great in 720p. There's just no need for 1080p unless you're getting above 37" - 42". For the price listed now, it's a steal. I spent about $300 more just a year ago.

Overall, another first-rate TV from Panasonic.

i can't say enough!

i bought this from a seller i found on amazon at christmas time and i dealt with them directly. i got this for $536.00 over two months ago after much research with no tax and free shipping. it showed up at my door 2 days later. i bought this for my bedroom and it's been played a lot! i could'nt be happier with it! the picture is stunning! a clear, crisp and sharp picture! the contrast ratio is only 10,000-1 so it looks better as the day wears on but i'm telling you the picture and clarity is first rate! you only need 720p for a hdtv 32" or smaller so my requirments when deciding on a bedroom tv were: 32", the $500.00 price range, a name brand, the best overall tv possible at the best price and a high energy star rating because i sleep with it on all night. after looking at sony, samsung, toshiba and others i decided on this one. panasonic has been building quality tv's for 50 years and this set proves it and it has the highest energy star rating in it's class. even the sound is good, not as deep and rich sounding as the 46" $3,000.00 hd/lcd samsung in my front room but for a $536.00 32" lcd/tv it is fairly good![it's a good stereo sound but with low amplification].........p.s. for your living room hdtv you would want a 25,000-1 contast ratio or more for viewing in all kinds of light. my samsung is 25,000 - 1 and it looks great morning, noon and night in any kind of light!............update 6/21/09...........after 6 months of ownership i couldn't be happier with this unit! has met and exceeded all my expectations. good job panasonic!.........update 2/11/10.........after all this time now with this lcd/tv being played between 10 to 12 hours everyday without ever skipping a beat all i can say is good job panasonic!

Great picture, Not enough connections

I'm only going to comment on the rear connections. Only one set of component in, which is fine because anyone who wants to use this great TV, should have updated equipment. But my cablebox ONLY has component, so I can't use any other outdated systems...everything else must be HDMI to take advantage of TV. Since this is a bedroom tv, not a big deal.

Next...audio quality is poor. Which is fine because most ppl who have a nice TV will support it with extra speakers. I bought the TVee Soundbar because it's simple and doesn't need a receiver. Well...the TV only has ONE audio out. and it's a digital (Toslink) audio out. Website says TWO audio out. I guess they're counting the headphone jack. Looks like panasonic got a little lazy and didn't bother to include support for older devices. Now I'm up a creek because I'll either need to buy a toslink to rca converter or take the dive and get a receiver....but who the heck has a receiver in the bedroom?!

Question : which is the best company for HD Lcd TV, SONY, PANASONIC, SHARP, LG?
hello friendz, please rate these companies product wise not rate wise...which is the best company FOR BUYING A FULL HD LCD TV, SONY, PANASONIC, SHARP and LG.

Answer:
Panasonic - makes amazing LCDs of 37" or smaller. Their colors and blacks are really tremendous; and their pricing is very competitive. For 42" or larger though, you should jump ship to the Panasonic Plasma line. In those sizes you will notice the advantages of Plasma, and get a far better viewing experience going that route.Samsung - typically considered the top dog in LCD manufacturing right now. They make the world's best panels. They make damn fine image processors as well. They should be in your consideration for an LCD of any size. I prefer the 4/5 series if under 37" and the 6" series if you break 42". And if you're going to cross above 50", I recommend going Plasma (Panasonic first, but Samsung makes decent Plasmas too) or going LED LCD from Samsung. That will cost a lot, but you need the benefits the technology provides at those sizes.Sony - tried, tested, and true. They over charge compared to competitors, but the quality is still there. You will get a good set from Sony that should last you for years to come. I like their L series in the 37" or smaller sizes. If you start going into their larger sizes then I would go with V, W, Z, or XBR series, and maybe just W, Z, and XBR. The V is okay, but I like some of the performance boosts from the other lines.Sharp - they make really good panels. So much so that Sony buys its panels from Sharp now. The ones used in the Aquos line are also used by Sony. Sony just adds its own image processor on top. I think Sharp's image processors are very strong as well. But I think they are just barely a nudge below Sony/Samsung. But can often be a fair bit cheaper. So I think there can be more 'bang for the buck' in Sharp, but for outright quality you might need to sneak up to Samsung/Sony (for an LCD that is).LG - I would consider a solid manufacturer. I think they make sets that people tend to be really happy with. Their prices are extremely competitive, which helps their reputation a lot. Outright image quality though, even their best sets, I think are more inline with say Sharp versus Panasonic (Plasma), Samsung (LCD), or Sony (LCD). But again, because of the price, they can offer a strong 'bang for the dollar' option for many people.

Question : I plan to buy a hdtv. Is Panasonic TH-58PZ800U plasma tv a better choice than a lcd tv? ?
I plan to buy a HDTV. Is Panasonic TH-58PZ800U plasma tv a better choice than a lcd tv? I had been reading reviews but those seem to be older reviews. ANY SUGGESTIONS PLEASE.

Answer:
Hi,Personally I would recommend to buy plasma. Plasmas give you more bang for your buck at the end, and while LCDs can give you better resolution, plasma still has the edge in terms of picture quality. Plasma and LCD panels may look similar, but the flat screen and thin profile is where the similarities end. Plasma screens, as its name suggests, uses a matrix of tiny gas plasma cells charged by precise electrical voltages to create a picture. LCD screens (liquid crystal display) are in layman's terms sandwiches made up of liquid crystal pushed in the space between two glass plates. Images are created by varying the amount electrical charge applied to the crystals. Both plasma and LCD sets produce excellent pictures. What advantages does plasma have over LCD?Apart from better contrast due to its ability to show deeper blacks, plasma screens typically have better viewing angles than LCD. Viewing angles are how far you can sit on either side of a screen before the picture's quality is affected. You tend to see some brightness and color shift when you're on too far of an angle with LCDs, while a plasma's picture remains fairly solid. This is steadily changing, however, with more and more LCDs entering the market with viewing angles equal to or greater than some plasmas. Plasmas can also produce a brighter color, once again due to light leakage on an LCD affecting its color saturation. What advantages does LCD have over plasma?Apart from being price competitive, LCD has the edge over plasma in several other key areas. LCDs tend to have higher native resolution than plasmas of similar size, which means more pixels on a screen.LCDs also tend to consume less power than plasma screens, with some estimates ranging that power saving at up to 30 per cent less than plasma. LCDs are also generally lighter than similar sized plasmas, making it easier to move around or wall mount.Consider to buy it on-line, much cheaper, and many vendors offer free delivery.Good luck!Check this link to see this plasma TV:http://www.caseyequip.com/p~p-43912610.html

Question : On my Panasonic LCD TV model TC-14LA2. the only one marked video output?
is the one marked component video out, may I used that as the normal video out connection?

Answer:
Hmmm.. not sure where you want to go "out" to, since normally video signals are always going "in" to the tv, but yes, if it is marked "video out" then that should work as long as whatever device you are going in to has in ports for component cables. Since component cables only carry picture you would also need to output sound. Without knowing exactly what you are trying to hook up I can't be of much further help.Good luck with it!

Question : I have a panasonic viera LCD 37in tv and an LG dvd/vcr combo and would like to know how to setup the remotes?
LG remote and Panasonic remotes only use on their own devices, how do i interlink them?....also how do i setup to record what is on Digital channels ?

Answer:
Open your owners manual for the tv and follow the direction of programming the remote to control the dvd/vcr. You'll need to connect the cable from the cable company to the vcr for you to record it on the vcr. You are not going to get the best picture out of the vcr, it is not a digital recorder.

Question : Can i hook up my compaq laptop to my panasonic viera lcd tv with a vga to rca cable?
I want to know if i can hook up my compaq laptop to my panasonic viera tv? Need help please

Answer:
A vga to RCA hookup would give a crappy picture even if you could find such a cable. How about vga to vga. You should have it on the tv and the laptop. Hook it up like a computer to a monitor. You may have to go into your display setting in your control panel and turn on display 2.

Question : I have a Panasonic tx32lxd85 LCD TV is it 50hz or 100hz?
Specs on websites say 100hz, but the instruction book says 50hz...Second, the instruction book says it can display 1080p wheras websites says it is not capable of this output...Can anyone enlighten me?Thanks in advance!

Answer:
It would help if you stated what part of the world you live in.It appears that this TV is not for the US market because it's a PAL system TV. Are you in the UK?Your TV is not 1080p and it will not support 1080p 24 mode, that just means it won't accept a 24 frames per second rate (the original frame rate of film) so it will probably do 1080p 30 frames. It is a 720p set with a resolution of 1366x768.The PAL standard has a refresh rate of 50hz, that's why it's mentioned, but it appears that like the US versions with doubled refresh rates (120hz) your set does appear to have a 100hz refresh rate.

Question : Is it bad to use my 42" panasonic LCD TV as a monitor for my PC?
I spent a fortune on this TV, and was wondering if the PC hooked up to the TV with a VGA cable would affect the health of the TV or anything, or just be bad for it?

Answer:
It will not harm the TV at all. Remember that VGA is an analog signal so it will not be in HD (if your video card is even capable of producing HD). You may have to adjust the resolution of your computer to match the TV set.

Question : Should i buy a 32 inch Samsung or Sony or Panasonic LCD TV ???? please help!!?
i am confused me and my friend Jen need help pleasewhich brand of 32 inch LCD tv is best!!

Answer:
Yor question is one of the most asked question on the internet.Samsung drives the brighter, deeper, darker images than any. When you buy a samsung, you buy a LED tv with a panel manufacturedby the company "S - LCD" which belongs to 50/50 % sony and samsung. The S - LCD company is fully driven under samsung engineering.Today, sony seems to buy their panels from "sharp corp" and trying toseperate from samsung due to the cold war (high competition ) betweenthem. You dont need to think about a Panasonic at all.Just go for the samsung UN32C6500 32" 1080p LED HDTV.Theres no better picture quality you can buy for 32".
