Beautiful HDTV

For what I need, this is perfect. Plenty of plugs on the back for everything of yesterday's and today's world. I only use it for my 360 and a movie/tv show via my laptop occasionally, but I sit about 5 ft away and it's plenty big enough.

I recommend this one to anyone who wants good quality from Samsung or who needs a smaller TV for their room but wants HD and a decent sized screen.

Powerless when power button malfunctions

Our LN32B360 last almost exactly 2 years with minimal use, when power button ceased working. After web research, it seems that many owners have experienced the same failure (see CNET reviews). The repairs will involve work on the power board--most often replacing bad capacitors, costing from $150 to $300.

I gave this product one star since there is no option for "zero" stars.

Good Value

I've had this for 3 months now and love it for the price. I would recommend to anyone looking for a reasonbly priced HD TV (I paid $380, looks like thats not available anymore). I also have a SONY XBR 46" in 1060 which naturally has a more crisp picture, but this 720 is quite crisp for the price. Easy to setup too.

Samsung LN32B360 32-Inch 720p LCD HDTV

This was not the 32 inch that I wanted but by a convenient event I got it. After setting it up and watching it for a few week now, I am not sorry. The picture quality using standard definition connections is amazing almost HD quality. The color is brilliant,The blacks are black and the whites white. There is no fading from side viewing and the sound is above average. The one draw back here is the number of available standard definition connections the set have. 1 component and 1 composite. There is no S-video. This I find is room for improvement because if you have more than 2 older pieces of audio video equipment then you need to purchase a multimedia scaler or something like that to use them with this TV.

That aside the TV is a really great purchase for a small room like a bedroom or small family room. 4 stars and not 5 because It should have had another 1 or 2 standard def connections. If that's not a problem for you, then this is a splendid deal for the money. You will be very pleased.

Terrific TV at a great price

This is my 3d Samsung, and at this point I would buy no other brand. The picture is crisp and clear, and the sound is as good as my 46" Samsung. The menu system and remote are superior to even my older Samsung units.
Terrific product at a great price - way-to-go Samsung and Amazon!

SyncMaster T240HD

I have had this HDTV/Monitor for about a year now and as i expected, Samsung delivered. I have my PC and Xbox360 connected to this and the picture quality is really great. Although default monitor brightness is way too high!!! I would recommend this to a daily user who wants some style as well with a HD display.

Samy TOC makes an excellent monitor

I initially purchased this as a TV/second monitor hoping that it would be reasonably good with color for editing photos. As it turns out, it's even better than my NEC 19" that was the top rated consumer monitor for editing photos on a couple of years ago. The color fidelity and contract are great. Its really crisp at full resolution and photos from my Canon 5d II really look fantastic on it. I won't swear that it has quite as good of color gamut as the NEC but it's at least close. Video and pictures look great on it at all resolutions and it runs pretty cool compared to the NEC which is less than 3 years old. It has plenty of ports and gets decent TV reception too though I rarely use it for that.

There are a couple of down sides. Its speakers are pretty lousy, even for a monitor. The headphone port is in a covered, recessed side panel and quite difficult to use if the plug on your headphones is small, you practically need pliers! Thought the viewing angle is generally pretty good, it does actually take on a yellow tone when you move too far from side to side; the vertical angel is pretty decent. All in all for the price, it's pretty hard to beat this one for photos and general video; especially if you have good speakers already.

Almost 1 year later, and I still love it!

I live in NYC, where space is always a luxury. I bought this monitor because it can multi-task as a monitor AND TV. I LOVE MY MONITOR/TV. It doesn't take a lot of space, and the picture quality is wonderful. That said, here are a few issues:

As a TV:
Lighting > this monitor, when used as a TV needs to be adjusted accordingly when watching non-HD channels. I understand that almost all channels are currently HD, but some aren't. And this is where you'll need to adjust the settings. I also need to adjust the settings when using my Wii as the images come across way too bright if I don't.

There is also the fact that you cannot adjust this monitor- so either you place it at the correct angle, or you can buy the wall mount to be able to adjust.

ten out of ten$$$$$$$$$$

I gave this to my parents, and really want one for myself now. They have cable but I connected one my HDTV indoor antennas and BAM, we were watching all the digital HD channels provided in the area over the air waves for FREE. Toss out cable and get TV for free. Quit funding the cable or satellite services at $100 a month/$1200/yr.. Maybe you would visit your neighbors more often with airwave channels. Well, maybe not.

Tv looks sharp, has plenty of hook ups for ins/outs, state of the art tuner capabilities, very simple yet functional remote, and a super sharp picture. Connect a computer or laptop. Would be great for a kitchen or bed room set. This set will give full HDTV 1080p. There is a bonus channel on the air waves that you don't get on any cable service, THIS channel. All they play is the entire MGM catalog of movies 24/7. These are movies that you will never see on AMC or TCM anymore. AMC is too contemporary now for old stuff. TCM might have some.

I paid about three hundred for this and is a great deal.*****

Best 32" on the market

Got this baby about a week ago from BeachCamera. Ordered it in the afternoon around 4pm, the FedEx guy was at my door before 1pm the next day. As for the TV itself - I've always been a SONY fan, I love everything SONY, but when it comes to TV's I think Samsung is the way to go. This LCD is perfect for a bedroom and even a smaller living room. The colors and contrast are amazingly deep, blacks are black, period. It's really a pleasure to watch DVDs on it and kill me but I can't seem to care for 1080p, and Bluray and all that new fluff that everyone's crazy about. It delivers a great picture and that's all that counts for me. So on the whole:

PROS:
-amazing clarity and saturation of color, great viewing angle
-sleek and stylish design that brings class to the entire room
-swivel stand makes it easy to rotate the tv instead of having to move it
-sound is decent and has numerous equalizer settings to play with
-all the inputs and components you could think of are standard
-extremely easy menu to navigate through
-remote is kind of cool and innovative and has lots of nifty buttons for fav channels etc.

CON: - the only thing I had trouble with was the stand, the screws that go into the back of the tv fit perfectly but the ones that go into the tv stand took a lot of pushing till my hands literally were aching. I still don't think this is so bad and even gives you a peace of mind because you can be sure that with screws this tight nothing's moving unnecessarily and the stand is gonna be sturdy all the time.

OVERALL: Not a single bad thing about this TV, Worth every single dollar

Sucks-Sung

I bought an Ln550 and had it almost two years. It does not turn on now. It just clicks like a clock. A simple search on all samsung TV's shows that they use cheap capacitors. They swell and burn out. You will have it happen right after your warranty is up. Samsung knows about the problem to they outsourced the costumer service to a place that is rude and hardly speaks English. With this name, you do not expect this but it is true. TV's lasted 25 years. Now they seem to have a hard time making it to two years. Never buy Samsung.

Incredible LCD for such a good price!

At the time I bought this TV for $950, Best Buy was selling it for $1300 (which would've actually been $1420 after tax). That makes it the best bargain I've ever got. Thank you Amazon. The quality of the picture is amazing and it's so lightweight compared to other TV's sold for similar prices last year. My only problem is that it tends to tilt forward. The angle views are amazing too.

Samsung 40" LCD HDTV

We love this TV! The picture quality is outstanding, though we need to take the time to read the manual and really understand all its features. We compared it to other well-known brands at a store and we liked it best. I don't think you can go wrong with a Samsung TV.

Great value, great TV!

I'm going to keep it short but I really like this TV. I still haven't got to all its different functions, but the main thing is the picture is beautiful. If the specifications and inputs match your needs, I don't think you'll go wrong with this one.

Fantastic value

I found this TV locally on clearance for $699 so the retailer could make room for the new 2010 model LN40C630. Even at Amazon's reasonable price, I think this TV is a much better value over TV's several hundred dollars less - a cheap piece of junk is still junk in the end, no matter what. You're better off banking that money in savings until it accrues enough interest to make up the difference between the models!

This TV has two sets of component inputs, which makes it more legacy compatible for those of us that can't afford the latest gear, and the upscaling processing I think is really nice. Closeup comparisons of my Xbox 360 running over component show that the TV's upscaler provides a sharper picture than running the Xbox at 1080p directly.

I spent about an hour in the store subjectively comparing this TV to a Toshiba model and a Panasonic model flanking them that both had decent reviews, and every time I'd change a setting, I ended up liking the picture on the Samsung more than any other model. Even if the panels in the sets are identical as my salesman claimed they were (so why not buy the cheaper one!), Samsung's image processor seems to have a lot more refinement than other less expensive brands, and I think that it really justifies the slightly additional cost of this TV. There is more color and detail subtlety viewable in the image on this Samsung than in its competing TV's, and the color is better and more naturally represented, even in the (tacky and over-bright) Dynamic mode.

The same retailer had a LN40C650, which has more features than the 630 model TV. I have a PC hooked to this TV as well and so fancy internet features hold no interest for me, but moreover the 650 models have a glossier screen which I actually do NOT prefer over the semi-matte finish of the 630. If I am trying to watch the TV in any type of light, the glossy screen increases reflections significantly, and I would rather take a minimal hit on the real-world-unattainable contrast ratio instead of hating my TV every sunny Saturday afternoon.

If you are not going to calibrate the TV, I'd recommend setting it in Natural mode. It was too dim viewing in the store, but most retailers have lights that are exactly one hojillion times brighter than in your home. If you view especially in the evening or in dim rooms, the brightness level is set very good by default in this mode, and I (subjectively) feel that the color balance is the most realistic. Rendered content doesn't 'pop' as much without the oversaturation, but isn't bleeding color problems the reason I got rid of my old CRT in the first place?

With regard to Digital Noise Reduction, the 120Hz processing, and other features: I do not see a huge difference, personally. None of the content that I have viewed so far on my TV has shown me much different sitting 11 feet away. My suggestion is to play with every setting, and find the viewing preferences that suit you. Each persons preferred content will play a role in what settings are best, so I will not suggest any. Just know that you can always say "Reset Picture" and start over if you muck them up too badly!

Thanks for reading.

Question : What indoor antena to get for samsung lcd TV?
I am getting Samsung LCd TV "LA26B450" and i dnt have any cable point for antena in my room. I have been looking for a antena but seems confusing aboutt the reception they get. What kind of indoor antena should i get? I am located in australia. Thanks

Answer:
In order for a indoor antenna to work you would have to live fairly close to the stations you want to receive (20 miles max) reliably. If you have a local store like "Radio Shack" they can advise you what kind of aerial you would need for your area and provide same for you. I would probably buy a cheap set of rabbit ears first and try them. If reception was acceptable I would stop there. If reception was unacceptable I would then go to a local knowledgeable source.

Spoke to Samsung and they werent sure so I'll pop into a local Samsung repair centre to ask if they knew what it could be. Tv suppports 1080i nd HD sp I dont know what it is?Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

It could be that you have the settings set too high for the TV. Go to sound options and set them to the lowest (Stereo 44.1kHz) your TV should be able to play this.

Question : Is there any way of connecting a Playstation 2 to a Samsung LCD TV via HDMI?
And if so, would the picture quality increase? Also can you suggest the best way to connect a playstation 2 to a LCD tv giving the best picture possible!

Answer:
About the best you can do with the PS2 is 480p (enhanced defenition) via a component cable (red, green ,blue) and at the same time the game itself must support 480p, God of war 2 for example. You will get a pretty good picture this way.

Question : Will I be able to use my roof top antenna with my Samsung LCD TV after the digital transition?
I have a 32" Samsung LCD TV. I can view HD channels with my roof top antenna presently. I am assuming that means that I do not need a converter box, however, if I am wrong please advise me otherwise. Will I still be able to use my roof top antenna after the transition to digital. We don't want to pay for cable or Satellite. We like local television.

Answer:
Yes you will. That tv has the digital tuner built in it. Don't worry You are good to go!!

Question : Which is the best and cheaper model in 32" Samsung LCD TV?
I am planing to buy 32" LCD Samsung. I have 2 choices.. LA32A330J1 and LA32A450C1. Does any owner of these LCD TVs can comment on their experience and their performance?

Answer:
Just go for Samsung LA32A450C1 without any second thought. It has got an excellent design and stunning picture quality. In my one year experience with it, I've found absolutely no problems. The sound is a bit mediocre when you listen in the built-in speakers. The sound get distorted at higher volumes. It is perfectly fine when I connected with multimedia speaker system. Other than this, the tv is apt for one who is looking to buy an HD Ready lcd tv at a low cost. Don't go for the first model as it has lower contrast ratio (higher the better). LA32A450C1 has more connectivity options like 3 HDMI ports, VGA, PC input, S-Video input and a headphone jack etc., so that you can connect more devices to it comfortably. The remote is a pleasant surprise with a glossy finish and larger buttons with hot keys for easier navigation. It has a better reponse time of 6ms with which you can watch fast moving pictures without any flicker. It has got a numerous picture settings, so that you can have a lot of tweaks if you wish to have. So go buy this tv, it's a lot worth for the money you spend. Hope I helped...

Question : When I turn on my Samsung LCD tv, I occasionally notice the screen is filled with red dots. Is it going bad?
When I restart the tv, the red dots disappear. Doesn't happen every time, but have noticed it the last few mornings.

Answer:
yes you have to change some parts inside it is called caps, i can not tell you value because we dont have the model number, but smasung take 2200uf 16 volt, or 1000uf 10 volt, in some models you have to change the compunation of both, just open the back cover, look at the power supply they should be in the upper right corner, the bad one will be bufft out, another symptomes of thes parts going bad on you they will make the tv take longer time to turn on spacielly when it is cold

Question : How to repair my samsung lcd tv sound working but no picture?
My samsung lcd tv suddenly didn't show any picture on screen but nothing happened to the audio.Someone please helpme how to repair it.

Answer:
If you have no volume bar or menu showing on the screen, then it cannot be anything you have wired wrong.to see the picture on an lcd tv, you need to have back lights. the light shines through the lcd panel and you can see the picture. I suspect that you have video on the screen, but you cannot see it because the back lights are not lit. To prove this simply turn the tv on in a very dark room and tune in a channel so you can hear the audio. then with a powerful flashlight, point it into the screen and look around the edge of the flashlight for evidence of video. Be careful not scratch the panel with the flashlight as you place it on it..Back to your problem, the back lights are tiny florescent bulbs and a ballast to run them, similar to the ones in a shop light. If the lights go bad or the ballast fails them you will get your symptom. Many times if the lights fail then not all of them will fail all at once, so the others will start up and then after a second they will cause the ballast to quit trying. In this case when you first start up the tv, you will see a slight glow on the screen (if the room is really dark). Many times you can see which light isn't working, there will be a darker horizontal stripe. This usually means the panel must be replaced, and unless it's cover with a warranty, you will probably not fix it due to the costs. If it never glows slightly, then replacing the ballast may fix it. On some set this board is not available separately, but many have now been released. And on newer sets the ballast is part of the power board, and they have issues with a diode shorting so the part is cheap. With out a model number, I'm spit balling. The last thing that can happen, is there is a slight back glow and no picture is being displayed. This is almost alway the fault of the lcd control board. Like the ballasts, many of these boards are now available without buying the whole panel. At any rate, you know what to expect, there is nothing you can do, because a technician will need to fix it.
