Amazing TV
Not much to say. Great price. Great picture quality. Not feeling the 120hz. It looks sped up and gives me a headache. I turned it off. Other than that, it's awesome! Buy it now! :)

Better than I expected
Before I start I like to state that the ware house sent me a updated model. From A630 to a B630 for the same price that the tv cost due to low inventory. So I got a good deal. By far the tv is wounderful it's terrific playing blu-Ray and playing video games on my PS3 slim. Now the only issue that I will complain about which at first but not anymore because the problem is fixed now. I did noticed when I be watching a movie at 24hz or 24 fps. I saw alot of ghosting going on in action scenes in movies. But I fixed this problem. What I did is very simple I went to video settings and turned off the bluray 24hz. So that way the PS3 can play the movie at 60hz. This will eliminate the ghosting effect by 2/3rds maybe more. Now I don't see it anymore. So I can watch my movies in 120hz by selecting the motion sensor on CLEAR. Standard or Smooth is to much. I recomend this tv or the later series Samsungs is a great brand.

TV is fabulous! Color, HD picture, ease of use, all great. Easy to set up. I have surround sound so never really paid attention to sound without it. Delivery was right on time and in home. Great TV. Great price.

TV is shot in less than two years
We originally bought this TV because of its good reviews (purchased at Sears). We have been satisfied with it till recently, although I felt it was overpriced - very little difference from lower priced brands. However, a couple of months ago the TV developed four white lines across the screen, for about the first half hour after the TV is turned on, along with ghost images and text on the screen. They eventually go away after half an hour. The TV is half a year past the warranty period. We live near a small town, a long way from qualified TV repair centers. We will probably just run it till it quits (which judging from the picture, may not be long). We will never buy another Samsung product and recommend you don't either. $[...] bucks down the drain!

AVOID THIS TV (and Samung Products in general)!
I purchased this TV on 11/24/2008, Amazon shipped it on 11/25/2008, and Samsung said the TV was manufactured on 11/30/2008. I was happily using this TV for 584 days, until the screen suddenly washed out and went photo-negative. There are SEVERAL other commentators who have also had this problem, yet Samsung doesn't acknowledge it as a "known issue". There is a video on youtube describing and documenting this issue.
To sum up why you should avoid this TV (if not this brand): Here's a list of others experiencing the same issue: http://www.amazon.com/review/R24FSO8X9GFL83/ref=cm_cr_rdp_perm http://www.amazon.com/review/RF457ADE5OTBV/ref=cm_cr_rdp_perm http://www.amazon.com/review/R1P2NBXAOH9E7C/ref=cm_cr_rdp_perm

18 months - Negative Problem
We've had this TV for about 18 months, conveniently just outside the warranty. All of the sudden we started having the negative image problem. We've taken excellent care of it - never leave it on for extended periods of time. The repair quote was $200. Called customer service and they didn't help at all - terrible. Spend your money on a better brand with that offers better customer service.

Garbage, literally, after 18 months.
Sound was always horrible--had to add speakers. The picture was good, but now there is no picture. Just a white screen.
If reviews were written down the line, instead of right after purchase, it would help more people. A $700 TV, garbage after 18 months! Ironically, I researched like mad before buying this.
When it comes to electronics, I guess a one-year warranty is standard but it shouldn't be. We live in an expensive, disposable world. Now, I'll have to pay to bring it to a recycling center, to add injury to insult.

White Screen/Photo Negative/Night Vision Problem
We're having this issue: [...] Google and youtube turn up others who also have this problem.
Local repair guy reports that the problem is a circuit board that is internal to the panel (i.e. the screen) touching a metal part of the inside of the panel. Other HDTVs have spacers around the circuit board to keep this from happening. This TV does not.
I would strongly advise against buying this TV.

Disappointed with the TV durability!
I bought this model in Jan 2009 for its apparent picture quality. For an year I had no issues with the picture/sound quality. It worked like a charm. The picture was crisp and colors were vibrant.
Just after over an year it I started seeing issues with the display where I kept seeing photo-negative like images on the screen. Its as if the TV knew to wait till the warranty expires ;-) This started as a temporary issue and used to go away after shaking the screen every time I start the TV. As if that was annoying enough one day even the shaking stopped working. Now my TV screen looks like a photo negative image. I contacted Samsung and they would fix it for a hefty sum. I am really disappointed by the quality especially since I bought it for the same reason. This really reduces my trust in the Samsung brand. I would stay away from this model. Heck, youtube even has a video of the exact same problem someone else is facing for the same model. Search for "samsung lcd tv photo negative".

One Major Flaw
A great TV in most respects but there is one major problem. The Picture will at times, suddenly freeze and large boxes will appear before it vanishes and the regular picture returns. This only happens a few times an hour and usually only in a portion of the screen. This is NOT the typical pixelating that you will see during high speed sporting events etc. either. This is an actual stuttering of the picture and very large boxes then cover and distort a portion of the screen before vanishing and the picture returns to normal.
This has happened with two of these units. One I purchased online and returned in less than a week. In that unit, the PC input did not work. I just replaced it with another unit yesterday and this time around while the PC input works, the same problem with the picture exists. I would guess that there is a problem with the tuner and that this is going to be a chronic problem with many units that have this same tuner.
I am going to return this unit as well and try a Sony.

Great purchase!
I bought this a few weeks ago. Normally its good to have a review be at least six months after the purchase, but seeing that this TV doesn't have any yet, I will put one in. So far, we couldn't be happier. The picture is great! No problems no matter which device we play from, or what channel we watch. The sound quality is decent, but of course you will want to export sound to a better audio system if that is important to you. The menu structure is very intuitive. Hardly had to look at the manual to figure out how to set it all up. Was very easy to navigate through the V-chip settings, picture settings, channel settings, etc. The remote control is also very nice. It is large, with large easy to press buttons. This TV has all the ports that we will ever need and more. Very easy to plug in the Flash/USB drive to view picture files or video. This purchase was well worth the money compared to other brands we researched and considered. We would definitely purchase this TV again if we had to do it all over.

Good product..horrible delivery
The SamSung was a disaster to order, the first TV I ordered the LN46A550 and I was awaiting for my TV and then on the afternoon I took off work for delivery I was emailed and told my TV was back ordered so I called and they offered the next model up which I accepted and told it was expedited so when it showed up a week later I was excited except the TV as damaged and if you read the fine print any TV bigger that 40 inch is not covered by insurance so I was lucky that Electronic Expo accepted the information from SamSung's certificated repair shop in town that I took the broken TV to or I would have been out of $1000 so they sent me another TV which I took another afternoon off work to get the TV delivered and they lost it someplace so here is the second day I took off work and no TV. I finally did receive the TV 4 days later and I love the TV but I will NEVER order anything like this online again.

Samsung 46" LCD HDTV broke after warranty expired
Had the $1250 46" LCD TV 1.5 years and the TV started turning on and off repeatedly one day while playing the Wii. Then when we turned it back on, no picture. Looked online and found out it's a common problem. Samsung would not cover the repair since the 1-year warranty expired. We had to go out-of-town to find a repair shop that works on out-of-warranty repairs because all the local shops were inundated with defective Samsung TVs that are still under warranty. The LCD panel itself was defective and costs $640 to fix, so we bought a new LG. Will not buy a Samsung TV again. Samsung's customer service did not care and just referred us to a shop that wouldn't even take out-of-warranty tv's. Disappointed.

Samsungs, great TV's very nice
I needed a new TV, I did my homework for a month and purchaced the Samsung 46 inch 1080p current model, and of course it turned out excellent. If you are looking for a great 1080p TV, the Samsung fits the role perfectly.
Lightweight, sturdy, excellent picture and durable the Samsung brand is one of the best names for high-def TV viewing. It does have some drawbacks, such as weak speaker quality and so-so repair support, but who really buys a 46"+ TV and uses the TV speakers. And Samsungs aren't known for their fragileness and poor worksmanship so you won't be repairing much of them.
Now, a side note when ordering. I purchaced it from Amazon at a great price, well below competition prices, and had free delivery with the purchance. The problem is Amazon uses a 3rd party shipping company that isn't that great at delieveries. You can easily find many complaints against them and their procedures. I rate Amazon and Samsung as top notch with their products and service, I rate the delivery company poor. 10 days after ordering I hadn't received my TV nor heard from the delivery company so I called them. Seems they never contacted Amazon to get my delivery info, so the TV was just sitting in their warehouse. I had to CALL THEM to get the TV that I had already purchaced delivered. They also didn't set up or unpackage the TV, they sent 1 person, but the TV is very light and I could handle it easily, but a smaller person might not.
Overall, a top notch TV bought from a top notch company, delievered by a not-so-good company. Still a great buy. As a last word, do your homework. Make sure to get the current year brand of the TV, and if you want to test drive it, go to your local TV store and check them out, THEN order it online and save quite a bit of money. When I bought the TV from Amazon it was the new year model and cost 1700 dollars. Best buy was selling it for 2300.

Samsung
We bought this August 2008. We loved it. We just started getting a problem where the TV does not turn on. It just keeps clicking. A google search brings you to thousands of related issues. Samsung knows about it. Their customer support sucks. Never buy one of these things. You dream of your first widescreen HD TV then it breaks so fast. Who can afford one of these a year?

Samsung LN46A550 turn of and off every 30 sec.
I own the Samsung LN46A550 LCD TV for about 16 months. The TV suddently turns on and off automaticallly every 30 seconds. I contacted Samsung Service dept. and was told it is out-of-warrenty. I have to pay the service charge on my own. It is a known manfacture defect and Samsung does not stand behind their products. I have talk with CS superisor and Customer Relationship and they all used the same excecuse that the product is out-of-warrenty. So watch out for the problem and I will never buy another Samsung TV. It won't take long for you to notice how beautiful the LN52B530 is. With a sleek, black bezel and new transparent bottom edge, its the perfect addition to your entertainment space. 1080p resolution produces the highest quality picture on the market and blacks and shadows are strikingly superb, thanks to the 60,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio. Buyer Beware!!
I was quoted at returning this tv at a completely different price then they charged me. I was told I would be charged of return fee of 129.00 which I was willing to live with but I needed to return the tv. A few days later I get an email saying they are charging me 220.00 dollar return fee. When I called and asked them why they are charging me so much they just responded that was their return policy and there was nothing they would do. So I wrote a bad review about them and that's how I got a hold of Bruno who told me they would return the difference for me and sorry about the inconvenience. Well that was 2 weeks ago and I haven't even been able to get a hold of him never mind seen a penny of my money. They deal in shady business and I would not recommend you spend any money on their products.

JUNK! CRAP! CHEAP! BROKE! RETURNED, and bought a BETTER MODEL
Yes, there are some good reviews, but none that have had this TV for a long period of time. You can take the chance in buying, HOPING you won't get a DUD, but the chances are slim as I hear Samsung has not fixed this problem yet. I bought this from Walmart a week ago and the picture was beautiful, BUT THESE ARE KNOWN FOR THE BACKLIGHT GOING OUT and that is what mine did....A WEEK LATER! It is a circuit card that goes bad, and Samsung has never fixed them. I will NEVER buy a Samsung again. Looking at Sony now!
UPDATE: I did buy another Samsung (I'm probably an idiot) from Crutchfield, and it is the LN52B630 model. It (Unlike this model) has 5 STARS (BUT I will say SAMSUNG CUSTOMER SUPPORT SUCKS!!!!!!). Pretty much the same TV, but updated, without all of the problems, more options, lighted remote, With an ETHERNET cable, you can get Stocks, weather and the latest news right on the TV screen, and so on. PLUS it is 120hz which gives a smoother picture! NICE OPTIONS, NICE PIC, and I will update later if it is NICELY built if it lasts. If it does not last, I am going straight to SONY!

Question : how do i connect some kef floor standing speakers to my samsung LCD TV?
i have kef speakers and whant to put them to my tv. but do i need an amp and how do i connect the amp to my tv?
Answer:
you will need a amp/receiver the Sony STRDG510 is a good choice at £199.99 at richer sounds if you can afford it go for the onkyo tx sr605 at £399.99 both have hdmi inputs and outyou better off getting a good amp/receiver to make use of the kef floor standing speaker to its full potential. I have the Kef Q7 floorstanding connected to the onkyo 605 and they sound superb.as for hdmi connect 1 from your dvd/blu ray player to the receiver then hdmi out to your tv.some amp/receivers will need the hdmi and optical cable to get picture and sound. The onkyo do both from the hdmi. Also banana plugs to attach the speaker cables to your receiver. Cost about £5.00 a pair or go to ebay you will get some good ones on there 10 plugs for less than £7Good luck with your choicewww.richersounds.co.uk

Question : What indoor antena to get for samsung lcd TV?
I am getting Samsung LCd TV "LA26B450" and i dnt have any cable point for antena in my room. I have been looking for a antena but seems confusing aboutt the reception they get. What kind of indoor antena should i get? I am located in australia. Thanks
Answer:
In order for a indoor antenna to work you would have to live fairly close to the stations you want to receive (20 miles max) reliably. If you have a local store like "Radio Shack" they can advise you what kind of aerial you would need for your area and provide same for you. I would probably buy a cheap set of rabbit ears first and try them. If reception was acceptable I would stop there. If reception was unacceptable I would then go to a local knowledgeable source.

Question : What should I do with a broken Samsung LCD TV?
I have a 40 in. Samsung LCD TV that has a blank picture but sound works. It broke 3 weeks after the 2 year maintenance plan expired :( . I'm afraid this will cost $300-$400 to fix.. I hate to throw something away that visually(outside/not picture) is in great condition and might be fixable. Any suggestions?
Answer:
People don't realize the things they can do with broken TV's. I know some people who make fish tanks, do things with the wires, and I even saw one guy who made a calculator with a recycled TV.I personaly, have no idea what to do with it. But take it apart and see if you can find something you can use! However, if you want to keep it as a TV and see if someone can fix it, ask your local tec-wiz or look up for some people in the phone book. If you look hard, you'll find someone who will be able fo fix it.

Question : How To Watch HD 1080 content from Computer to SAMSUNG LCD TV Series 3?
I have HD1080 movies on my pc and I want to watch them on my SAMSUNG LCD TV Series 3, but I can't understand how to connect my PC to LCD TV to watch High definition content. Please help.
Answer:
You will have to get a PC with a HDMI OUT port on it. You will then have to connect the cord to the HDMI IN port on the Television. Only some computers have HDMI out port on them, so if you don't get a VGA cable and connect it to your Television. The port of a VGA had a sign that looks like I D I that sorta. 'The HDMI port is a lot smaller then the VGA port. All depends on the computer you have. good luck!

Question : Why does my Samsung LCD TV screen have a blue tone when I connect peripherals using component cables?
I have a 19-inch Samsung flat-screen LCD TV. When I connect peripherals (DVD player, XBox 360, etc.) through the component ports, everything has a blue-ish tone to it. I know it's not the component cables themselves because I've tried 3 different sets of component cables and they all have the same blue tone result. So I'm guessing there's something wrong with the TV itself. If I connect things through other ports (S-Video, Composite, DVI, etc.), everything is fine. Could I possibly have changed a setting on my TV by mistake to make everything blue when connecting things through the component ports? Or is this just an issue with the TV itself? Thanks in advance for the help.
Answer:
Sometimes a Samsung LCD can push blue if you have your color settings on "Cool" - and for that matter, ALL TV's have a color push out of the box.If you want to reduce the blue push, try changing from "Cool" to "Warm" in your picture settings. Also, check to see if you're receiving blue as a result of your component settings not receiving a "red" or "green" picture. Sometimes it takes a moment to notice, but blue will be pushed because red or green aren't transmitting from your source content (DVD player, or whatever) to your TV.If that doesn't help, try calling Samsung's toll free phone number - 800-SAMSUNG during M-F normal business hours. That number connects you to one of the three offices in the United States, which is cool that you aren't being rerouted to India.Good luck to you!
