Good TV - WHEN IT WORKS

This unit is great, but expect to replace capacitors within a few months. A common problem (Just Google "LN-T4061F clicking") in which the TV will not turn on and will emit clicking sounds, sometimes for hours. Unless your unit is under warranty, Samsung will not remedy this widely-known issue. Fix it yourself for about $10, or a few hundred for a technician.

WARNING DO NOT BUY SAMSUNG TVs :designed to breakdown after using it for 1 year

I purchased this TV for my office and never used it for one year because no one at the office had time to watch TV. We started using it occasionally during lunch time/ breaks for 1 year, it started making clicking sounds when we tried to turn it on. I called samsung and they asked for model number and when I told them they immediately responded by offering to repair one time for free. They took my information and told me service tech will contact me to schedule a repair. No one called for one month. I called again and they said they assumed I had fixed the problem myself. When I told them I had this problem with TV, they were very familiar with it and again took down my information. Do I think they will fix my TV by next month?
Well all I can say is SAMSUCK!

happy again

With some trepidation, we ordered this tv from Amazon in January 2008. We received it quickly and with no problems whatsoever. Great service from Amazon and we fell in love with the television. It was easy to install and set up, looked fantastic and had a great picture. Our love affair continued until January 2010 when it started clicking on and off several times before staying on. I checked the internet and sure enough, there appeared to be a common problem with the capacitors. We were very unhappy to have a problem with a 2year old tv. We called Samsung customer service and they issued a repair order for a local service person to come check the tv. They said if the problem was capacitors, they would handle the cost. The repair personnel came on the 3rd day, put in a new board and left. Problem solved. We are extremely happy with the support we received from Samsung and it makes us feel better about the Samsung refrigerator that we purchased in November 2009.

Still a great Picture!

This TV has given me nothing but enjoyment. I got it for a great price 2 years ago and it's still going strong. So far I've only noticed 2 dead pixels after 2 years of mass usage. The only semi-bad thing I can say is the audio quality while playing DVDs or Blu-Rays isn't the best. The sharpness and brightness of the screen is still going strong. Great TV.

Planned Obsolescence

I bought this just when it came out and the TV was pretty good while it was under its warranty. There were some issues with the sound where the speakers muffled and the volume on different channels would sometimes be astoundingly higher than others. But none of that really bothered me too much, if you want a nice HDTV you should probably pony up for surround sound anyways. The thing that really irks me is the cheap capacitors that Samsung used, which all blew out one month after the warranty expired. Now when I try to turn the TV on, it clicks for a few minutes with the red light blinking and when it finally powers on, I get a picture filled with blue and purple pixels. This is the same issue that has been documented by thousands of other owners of this TV online. Just do a quick Google search.

Question : How To Watch HD 1080 content from Computer to SAMSUNG LCD TV Series 3?
I have HD1080 movies on my pc and I want to watch them on my SAMSUNG LCD TV Series 3, but I can't understand how to connect my PC to LCD TV to watch High definition content. Please help.

Answer:
You will have to get a PC with a HDMI OUT port on it. You will then have to connect the cord to the HDMI IN port on the Television. Only some computers have HDMI out port on them, so if you don't get a VGA cable and connect it to your Television. The port of a VGA had a sign that looks like I D I that sorta. 'The HDMI port is a lot smaller then the VGA port. All depends on the computer you have. good luck!

Question : Will my European 40" samsung LCD tv work in the United States?
My wife and I bought an LCD tv overseas and we heard that it might not work in the U.S. Something about the refresh rate or something. We have a step up transformer. Anyone know?

Answer:
NO ! unless you TV is Multi Systems. i don't think so.because all Multi SYSTEMS TV work Auto Voltage AC 100-260 V ( like all Laptop ).since you need steps up transformer ,is will be only 1 ) TV from Mose of EU countries is PAL systems.DVB tuner . 2 ) from Germany and Holland IS only DVB - T digital tuner . 3 ) from France is SCEAM systems and IPVP digital tuner. // is never work with USA ATSC digital Tuning systems ( non of EU countries use or going to swift to ATSC ) . even you cant work for AV playback ,source from USA DVD/VCR/PS3 video out are NTSC signals . .

Question : Why does my Samsung LCD TV screen have a blue tone when I connect peripherals using component cables?
I have a 19-inch Samsung flat-screen LCD TV. When I connect peripherals (DVD player, XBox 360, etc.) through the component ports, everything has a blue-ish tone to it. I know it's not the component cables themselves because I've tried 3 different sets of component cables and they all have the same blue tone result. So I'm guessing there's something wrong with the TV itself. If I connect things through other ports (S-Video, Composite, DVI, etc.), everything is fine. Could I possibly have changed a setting on my TV by mistake to make everything blue when connecting things through the component ports? Or is this just an issue with the TV itself? Thanks in advance for the help.

Answer:
Sometimes a Samsung LCD can push blue if you have your color settings on "Cool" - and for that matter, ALL TV's have a color push out of the box.If you want to reduce the blue push, try changing from "Cool" to "Warm" in your picture settings. Also, check to see if you're receiving blue as a result of your component settings not receiving a "red" or "green" picture. Sometimes it takes a moment to notice, but blue will be pushed because red or green aren't transmitting from your source content (DVD player, or whatever) to your TV.If that doesn't help, try calling Samsung's toll free phone number - 800-SAMSUNG during M-F normal business hours. That number connects you to one of the three offices in the United States, which is cool that you aren't being rerouted to India.Good luck to you!

Question : Any one buy the Samsung LCD tv with 120 mhz?
I'm looking to buy a LCD tv and have the Samsung 550 and 650 in mind. The biggest difference between the two that I can tell is that the 650 has 120 mhz and the 550 doesn't. I have read that the 120 mhz comes into play when watching fast action scenes or sports and prevents blurring. My question is, is it really with the extra money and will i notice the difference? Thanks!

Answer:
LCD technology produces two artifacts with on screen motion. 1) Motion Jitter - this is the most obnoxious of the LCD motion artifacts; it produces shaky, jittery trailing edges on moving objects. Best seen with scrolling credits at the end of a movie.2) Motion Blur - stretches the moving object out behind the image, best seen with high contrast between the moving object and the background.120 Hz does a good job with the removal of jitter. 120 Hz does a poor job on the removal of motion blur. In fact, the 120 Hz motion compensation co-processors do not have the processing power to complete their calculations under all live sporting event and movie scenes. They can and often do produce their own artifacts called halo (incomplete background processing) on the trailing side of moving objects. I find halo artifacts to be as obnoxious as jitter and recommend that you turn 120 Hz OFF during a movie, therefore, 120 Hz will be of some limited benefit during sports programs and gaming. Is this feature worth the price and complexity? That is subjective and a decision that only you can make. Come into my shop in Crystal Lake, Il. and I would be more than happy to show you a demonstration of jitter, blur and 120 Hz operation and then you could make-up your own mind as to the effectiveness of 120 Hz. Most of my customers are shocked when they see the truth!

Question : How do I stop ghosting and temporary burn in on my Samsung LCD TV?
I have a Samsung LE26R41B 26" LCD TV.However, I notice 'ghosting' on dark pictures (like in some games, night times in films for example). Also, temporary burn in happens a LOT, like for leaving a picture on for 5 minutes sometimes! Can these be stopped or reduced?

Answer:
make sure all connections are hand tightend and the less amount of games, vcr/dvd players it goes through, the better the signal, unless, which i do, use rca connections for ur games and vcr/dvd player, or an s-video cord.

Question : How do I play my ps2 on my 52-inch Samsung LCD TV?
I hoooked up my ps2 to my 52-inch Samsung LCD TV and the picture is blurry? like I'm talkin very blurry, is there some kind of setting I have to use to play ps2 clearly on the 52-inch?

Answer:
Might be that your playing an old game with standard resolution and/or you have it connected to your TV with a mediocre (standard) video cable. You can use component cables; Sony has one for the PS2 and there is also 3rd party ones but obviously you want to go with the Sony brand. Some games support progressive scan (with component cables) and they look better than regular definition games played on a composite and/or S-video. Also some HDTV's (like LCD's and Plasma's) make your PS2 games (that do not support progressive scan) look worse than a regular TV, specially if they're bigger than 42in. This also happens with (most) regular standard/non digital channel programing (though HD channels obviously look great -also with component or HDMI cables hooked up) . DLP HDTV's don't suffer from this problem(s) but is an older, less popular technology because most DLP TV's (if not al)l are not flat (body wise not screen wise) and therefor bulkier (not to mention a lot more heavier) and consume more space and energy.Like I said try component video cables (they have a green, blue, red, white and red connection tip) they improve the picture quality and are built for HDTV's and forget those standard composite cables (with the yellow, white and red tips) since these cables video input/output was meant for standard (non HD) TV's.
