great Amazon Service

The Freight service that Amazon used to deliver the 40 inch Samsung TV was outstanding. They called the day before delivery to confirm their delivery date, then they called on the delivery date to confirm a two hour delivery period. The gentlemen who delivered the TV took it out of the box, set the TV up and disposed of the box. Top notch service. The TV picture and sound quality are outstanding. Couldn't be happier with my purchase; the price, the value for the money and the quality of the television have all met or exceeded my expectations.Samsung LN40C630 40-Inch 1080p 120 Hz LCD HDTV (Black)

This tv rocks, had it two months now

Wow is all I can say, I have a small living room and this 40 inch is amazing. Looked at a bunch in this size range and nothing beat it for clarity options and the price was ok, there were cheaper but the 80000-1 contrast sold me, the others had all the same stuff mostly but this one had this and more HDMI connections and my games are rocking on it. Cant go wrong in my opinion and when i move this is bedroom bound and ill get the 46 or larger version of this guy for sure.

Happy tv hunting

All the research leads to Samsung!

I haven't bought a television in 13 years and I wanted to make sure I got one that would last me at least another decade without breaking the bank. I did my homework and waited patiently for a price dip on a Samsung, which all the reviewers say are the best. I picked this one up for just over $600 and I'm so happy with it! Personally, I'm not interested in the technology race--I just want great picture quality and a set that is reliable and easy to operate. That's precisely what this is, with a fair amount of bells and whistles to boot.

This is an awesome and affordable LCD TV

I purchased this TV in Jan 2010 and have been using it for the last several months. All I have to say about this TV is that it has perfect picture quality. All of my friends like this TV when they see it. Great job Samsung!

Samsung = Superb quality!

Amazing quality picture @ 100,000:1 contrast ratio.
The sound quality is OK (i have mine connected to a surround sound system) but the sound that comes with the TV is actually pretty good.
If you're a gamer you can play games with no noticeable lag (I play rockband and Modern Warfare 2 with no issues at all).
If you are thinking in buying an LCD HDTV, its a no brainer...choose Samsung!

Top of the line picture

I bought this tv about a yea ago. It was my first HD tv and I did my homework before buying. I knew I wanted a Sony or Samsung. I am thrilled that I went with the Samsung LN46B650. The picture is amazing. The colors are brilliant! A friend of mine has a top of the line Sony which is very nice, but every time I watch his lcd, I always notice that it does not have the picture quality of my Samsung. I love this TV so much that I ordered the Samsung LN46B750 for my parents. The only reason I did not get the 650 is that it was not available at the time. Since then, I have since purchased a LN52B750 for my basement. The specs on the 750 are slightly better than my 650, but the difference is not noticeable. In my opinion, Samsung is the leader in LCD tv's.

Ok TV for the price but there's better

Bought this TV for my daughters room. It's acceptable for what it's used for but the picture is washed out or a bit fuzzy compared to other small LCD TV's in the house. If I had to do over again I would have spent a few extra dollars for a set with a better picture.

Major Flaw Spoils All

Size, speed and features are great here, but clouding/fading across the enire lower 40 percent of the screen wreck this big picture experience.

I have a 55 inch LED backlit Samsung TV in my home theatre and enjoy some of the same features on it that this monitor has, but the cloud of white/fading across the almost entire bottom half of the screen is glaring. If you look at a continuous corner in the border of a web page, the defect is most apparent as you can see the color fade as border descends goes across the bottom perimeter (as compared to its color across the top perimeter of the page).

I tried everything for a week to correct this problem, including calibration. But after fidgeting with the on screen display controls and features like MagicBrite and MagicColor every night, I finally checked with CNET: It reports the same clouding/fading problems across the line with these monitors as I experienced, and also with this monitors sister, P277OH.

This monitor, which is LCD backlit (NOT LED), is being returned today. I'll wait a few days before picking up a Samsung LED backlit 23 inch model in the hopes that I won't miss, too much, that vast 27 inches of real estate.

Bottom Line: If you make a bad picture bigger, it gets worse, and that's what the P2770HD does with it's flaw when spread across this big screen.

Really sweet monitor

This is one stunning monitor, it took me about 20 minutes to get it all working correctly, had to tell my laptop I was sending the video to a LCD TV, once that happened I was able to set the screen resolution to the highest setting for the monitor. My laptop has a HDMI out and that is how it is connected, I hooked up a real nice set of speakers (Logitech) and the remote control adjusts the volume and turns the set on/off.
FYI:
If the picture does not fill the screen then your screen resolution is not set high enough, your video card may need the newest driver to set it higher, I downloaded the latest driver from Intel. In Windows 7 you should have an option on your taskbar next to the clock for hidden icons, one of these should be for your video card, that is where you tell it your sending the signal to an LCD TV, once you do that the monitor on the laptop should turn off.
After you have done that you will still need to change your display setting to the highest available.

Excellent Monitor and HDTV

After researching alternatives, I purchased the P2770HD to replace dual four-year old HP 19" LCD (4 x 3 aspect ratio) monitors running at 1280 X 1024 resolution.

I calculated that 27" (at 1080P) was the maximum screen size that would retain the resolution quality of my previous monitors.

I'm exceptionally pleased with this unit. The size is just right for displaying two full-size windows simultaneously, side-by-side. Graphics and text are sharp and colors are great.

I was a bit apprehensive about some of the negative review comments. However, I think that negative comments (that are mixed with many positive comments), are often a result of an individual user's incorrect set-up or other factors relating to his/her unique situation.

So I moved ahead because of the many highly positive reviews and my confidence in Samsung based on previous experience. I'm glad I did.

Noting the comments about adverse effects from using HDMI connection for monitor use, I used a DVI cable. The resulting images could not be better.

My use is almost entirely as a monitor, but I concluded that the flexibility of having a hybrid unit such as this was well worth the small additional cost.

The TV function is as good as the monitor function. I can receive the local network channels in HD, without another cable box that would be required for HD reception of all other channels.

I also have a TV tuner card (standard definition) in my PC that enables me to have a small window open with, e.g., CNN playing in the corner of the screen, while in PC mode. Using the same graphics card as previously, and even in standard def, the picture is superior to what it was on my previous monitors.

The sound from the integrated, invisible speakers is just fine for both PC and TV use in my home office. There's even an equalizer function built into the monitor. I'd long been using external desktop speakers and a subwoofer with the PC. I'm happy to now be able to remove that clutter from my desk. (I didn't expect the sound to be similar to that from the multi-speaker surround system in another room, and it doesn't need to be.)

So, if you're considering this unit but are concerned about some of the negative comments, give the positive reviews more weight. You'll be glad you did.

GREAT PC MONITOR --- Please READ!!!

Ok, I'm one of those who always want to get a product that can be used for different purposes and Samsung P2770HD LCD TV sparked my interest. This review is for those who keep saying this is not a good PC monitor (I can tell you right now that you are WRONG). I bought this and hooked it up using HDMI. I was initially surprised the reviews are right. Text seemed blurry but I DID NOT GIVE UP because I saw tons of MENU adjustments so I played around with it. I'm telling you once you do this, you will love this monitor and get it over its 2770H (no TV tuner) brother or any other dedicated LCD monitor.

----------------------------------------------------------------
I repeat, this unit is perfect as a PC Monitor using HDMI cable!
----------------------------------------------------------------

*** Before you read on, I'm assuming you have connected this to your PC using HDMI cable and you have the LATEST video card drivers for your PC. Don't even bother with the SAMSUNG drivers yet. You don't need those at the moment. Set your resolution to 1920x1080 before starting (if your video card can support it, most does!)

Here's what you do: (and you can do this while you're PC is ON up so you can see the display change right before your eyes!)

1. Open MENU
2. Go to "Input"
3. Select "Edit Name" to open up the "Edit Name" sub menu.
4. Scroll down to "HDMI" and select it, (watch carefully)
5. Now assign "PC" or "DVI PC" to the HDMI setting and voila!!!
*** I'm not sure what this setting is for, I thought it was just to give it some "name" assignment. But somehow changing this corrected the blurry/blocky text effect.

After this, your PC display should be perfect. If text is still blurry, check if the display/resolution fills the entire screen. If not, this has to do with video card scaling option which can be easily adjusted from the video driver configuration. If you are using an ATI based video card, do these additional steps. (NVidia based video cards should also have an equivalent for this).

For WinXP
*********
1. Open up Catalyst (video card configuration tool)
2. Go to DTV or DTV (DVI) menu on the left.
3. Select sub menu "Scaling Options" and set slider to "0%" towards "Overscan"
4. Done! PICTURE IS PERFECT!!!

For Windows7/Vista
******************
1. Open up Catalyst (video card configuration tool)
2. Pull down Graphics menu
3. Select "Desktop & Displays"
4. Right click on the monitor icon at the bottom of the screen that appears.
5. Select "Configure..."
6. Change the scaling options same as the above.

Note: I'm not a MAC user so I don't know how the video configuration looks like for ATI in MAC. Probably any one of the 2 above.

Enjoy this monitor!

I can switch input sources PC/TV, turn the unit on and off and the picture is ALWAYS PERFECT.

For those who gave this unit poor reviews as a PC monitor, I'm sorry but you just gave up on one solid product that can be both a TV and a damn good PC monitor. Those who complained about dead pixels or backlight leaks (that is of course another story and you may have gotten a bad unit). Sound is reasonable for me. Just get a good external speaker (cheap) and you're done! You have 2 choices for audio out anyway (3.5mm and optical out). For it's price, this simply gives you more bang for the buck.

Working great and I like it

Purchased the LN32C530 for the living room a couple days ago and am loving it.

Have not had any problems / noticed anything I don't like.

Hooked up an Mac Mini to the HDMI port. For the audio from the computer to the tv, you just connect a 1/8" (3.5mm) Stereo Male to 1/8" (3.5mm) Stereo Male cable between the computer and TV. (The tv doesn't have an digital/toslink audio out port).

Loving it so far.

6-14-10 Update:
One thing I don't like is once a month or so, using the remote I accidentally put the tv into shop/store mode.

Wish there was a way to figure out what I was pressing that was doing it. I think it has to do with my holding down the volume button for long periods for one thing.

The Samsung LN32C530 TV has an important advantage

I recently purchased the Samsung LN32C530 TV and I love it. We installed it in the bedroom, and it has a feature that is a big advantage for us: the "timer on" to wake us in the morning. We use it as our alarm clock to awaken us. Almost all TVs have a "timer off" feature or a "sleep timer", but Samsung is one of the few TV manufacturers who offer the "timer on" advantage.

Also, I become amused by a review that complains that he had to put 4 screws into 4 screw holes to install the base. Is he joking? We installed the base and had it operational in about 10 minutes with no problems, and I am a senior citizen.

This is my 2nd Samsung TV purchase this year, and they offer a superior picture at minimal price.Samsung LN32C530 32-Inch 1080p 60 Hz LCD HDTV (Black)

Looking for a great cheap 32inch HD, THIS is the one to get!

I got this TV a little over a month ago, and have not once regretted the purchase. Before this TV I had a 32 inch Sony KDL-V32XBR1 for over 5 years, and finally decided now was going to be the time to get my own as I am moving out of my house. I did some research and found that Samsung was definitely in the lead in terms of quality and price, and finally settled on this model. I got it for 499 on sale at Best Buy, and the difference was incredible! This monitor is BEAUTIFUL, especially for 500 bucks! You might want to do a little tweaking with the color settings, but it usually does a very good job looking great without any help from you. I have HD Cable, a Xbox 360 hooked up via Component, and a PS3 hooked up with HDMI. The TV automatically senses which ports are active and only switches between the ones that have an incoming signal going to them, which is really convenient. It also has a power setting which defaults to on which will detect the ambient light and lower the back-lighting on the monitor to save power. I personally found that it lowered the light too much, as I like my movies bright and colorful, so I ended up turning it off, which I would recommend to anyone who doesn't mind spending a little extra power on their picture.

IMPORTANT NOTE: I originally had a hard time with ghosting showing up on bluray like another reviewer, but it just didn't make sense and unlike the other reviewer, after a little research I found that Digital Noise Reduction filters cause all the ghosting with HDTV's these days, so once I turned that off in the TV's menu, everything was back to being incredibly sharp and quick! Just make sure to turn that off when gaming or watching High Def movies, and you will NEVER look back on getting this TV. It has an incredible amount of BANG for the buck.

I did a lot of research and comparisons before making this purchase, and this came out the winner. The price is terrific for a 32in Samsung. The picture and sound are amazing right out of the box. The cosmetic of this TV is lovely. Setup was easy, and everything else is pretty much self-explanatory. No problems with it yet. Samsung won again! Yay!

I'm not a TV expert but...

First off, let me say that I don't know a whole lot about TVs, nor have I owned enough of them to judge how well this TV compares to other LCDs. My previous TV was a 27" Sony tube set which I had my xbox360 hooked up to. I basically casually watched TV, played games and streamed video from my xbox to it. Moving from an SD tube TV to an HD TV is like night and day in terms of my xbox gaming and video streaming. It looks amazing, but as I said, this is in comparison to my old TV so I really cannot say for sure if this is much better than other comparable LCDs but nothing stands out negatively to me at least. When playing a game, make sure to set the source to game mode to avoid latency problems. I did not do this initially and found when playing online I suddenly seemed much worse at FPS games than on my old TV, I couldn't hit a darn thing! But this problem was rectified by setting the source to game mode.

Other people have complained about the fact that the remote does not have a dedicated source button that cycles through all the components that you have plugged into the TV but instead has a menu you must scroll through to select the source. All I have is my 360 connected via HDMI (I do not have surround sound either). The remote does have an "HDMI" button and thus in one press of the button, I am ready to game (the "game mode setting" or any other viewing setting appears to be saved by the TV so whenever I which to HDMI1, which I selected to be named "Game," game mode is automatically enabled to so I do not have to navigate through the settings to enable it every time I want to play a game.

The sound on this set is pretty good, obviously it's not going to be as good as a surround sound system but I've had it turned up pretty loud with no issues, sound is nice and clear to me and of course is much better than my old Sony tube.

I was a little worried that this set was 60hz while the more popular ones were 120hz...I did some research into this and found that apparently for many people, viewing TV shows or movies is perfectly fine in 60hz. I don't have any issues playing games either...but again I have no experience with 120hz sets... All I know is that at the very least, if you have not owned a 120hz LCD TV, then you'll be very pleased with this TV.

I didn't think I wanted to shell out the extra $$$ for HD cable service (all I really wanted was to enjoy my 360 and movies in HD and I don't watch too many TV shows) so that factored into me getting a TV this size as I figured anything much larger might not view SD content so well. After messing with a few settings such as turning off the edge enhancer and switching to 4:3 instead of 16:9 (SD content seemed too stretched out to me and I just couldn't get used to it) standard def stuff looks fine, as long as you don't mind the picture being more the size of what a 32" tube TV would be. All-in-all, I'm so far very satisfied with this purchase.

Rating :

It's Ok.

I was expecting a bit more from this TV. Using the TV on standard def I noticed some ghosting and poor color quality. Picture quality on a high def signal is good.

Insultingly poor customer service

This product was shipped without a power cable, rendering it useless. Amazon directed us to contact Samsung, who said over the phone that the cord would be shipped to us. Four days later, Samsung called again to say that the proper procedures had not been followed, and the order to ship the power cable had been cancelled. They want me to print and fax details of the order, which is inconvenient and time-consuming, and will delay the process further. All this time, our very expensive new TV has been useless, because of a mistake made by Samsung and Amazon, which we are being forced to put right. If you're thinking of buying a new TV, I would suggest you avoid Samsung and / or Amazon.

Questions & Answers
Question : How do I play my ps2 on my 52-inch Samsung LCD TV?
I hoooked up my ps2 to my 52-inch Samsung LCD TV and the picture is blurry? like I'm talkin very blurry, is there some kind of setting I have to use to play ps2 clearly on the 52-inch?

Answer:
Might be that your playing an old game with standard resolution and/or you have it connected to your TV with a mediocre (standard) video cable. You can use component cables; Sony has one for the PS2 and there is also 3rd party ones but obviously you want to go with the Sony brand. Some games support progressive scan (with component cables) and they look better than regular definition games played on a composite and/or S-video. Also some HDTV's (like LCD's and Plasma's) make your PS2 games (that do not support progressive scan) look worse than a regular TV, specially if they're bigger than 42in. This also happens with (most) regular standard/non digital channel programing (though HD channels obviously look great -also with component or HDMI cables hooked up) . DLP HDTV's don't suffer from this problem(s) but is an older, less popular technology because most DLP TV's (if not al)l are not flat (body wise not screen wise) and therefor bulkier (not to mention a lot more heavier) and consume more space and energy.Like I said try component video cables (they have a green, blue, red, white and red connection tip) they improve the picture quality and are built for HDTV's and forget those standard composite cables (with the yellow, white and red tips) since these cables video input/output was meant for standard (non HD) TV's.

Question : What indoor antena to get for samsung lcd TV?
I am getting Samsung LCd TV "LA26B450" and i dnt have any cable point for antena in my room. I have been looking for a antena but seems confusing aboutt the reception they get. What kind of indoor antena should i get? I am located in australia. Thanks

Answer:
In order for a indoor antenna to work you would have to live fairly close to the stations you want to receive (20 miles max) reliably. If you have a local store like "Radio Shack" they can advise you what kind of aerial you would need for your area and provide same for you. I would probably buy a cheap set of rabbit ears first and try them. If reception was acceptable I would stop there. If reception was unacceptable I would then go to a local knowledgeable source.

Question : How to repair my samsung lcd tv sound working but no picture?
My samsung lcd tv suddenly didn't show any picture on screen but nothing happened to the audio.Someone please helpme how to repair it.

Answer:
If you have no volume bar or menu showing on the screen, then it cannot be anything you have wired wrong.to see the picture on an lcd tv, you need to have back lights. the light shines through the lcd panel and you can see the picture. I suspect that you have video on the screen, but you cannot see it because the back lights are not lit. To prove this simply turn the tv on in a very dark room and tune in a channel so you can hear the audio. then with a powerful flashlight, point it into the screen and look around the edge of the flashlight for evidence of video. Be careful not scratch the panel with the flashlight as you place it on it..Back to your problem, the back lights are tiny florescent bulbs and a ballast to run them, similar to the ones in a shop light. If the lights go bad or the ballast fails them you will get your symptom. Many times if the lights fail then not all of them will fail all at once, so the others will start up and then after a second they will cause the ballast to quit trying. In this case when you first start up the tv, you will see a slight glow on the screen (if the room is really dark). Many times you can see which light isn't working, there will be a darker horizontal stripe. This usually means the panel must be replaced, and unless it's cover with a warranty, you will probably not fix it due to the costs. If it never glows slightly, then replacing the ballast may fix it. On some set this board is not available separately, but many have now been released. And on newer sets the ballast is part of the power board, and they have issues with a diode shorting so the part is cheap. With out a model number, I'm spit balling. The last thing that can happen, is there is a slight back glow and no picture is being displayed. This is almost alway the fault of the lcd control board. Like the ballasts, many of these boards are now available without buying the whole panel. At any rate, you know what to expect, there is nothing you can do, because a technician will need to fix it.

i have kef speakers and whant to put them to my tv. but do i need an amp and how do i connect the amp to my tv?

Answer:
you will need a amp/receiver the Sony STRDG510 is a good choice at £199.99 at richer sounds if you can afford it go for the onkyo tx sr605 at £399.99 both have hdmi inputs and outyou better off getting a good amp/receiver to make use of the kef floor standing speaker to its full potential. I have the Kef Q7 floorstanding connected to the onkyo 605 and they sound superb.as for hdmi connect 1 from your dvd/blu ray player to the receiver then hdmi out to your tv.some amp/receivers will need the hdmi and optical cable to get picture and sound. The onkyo do both from the hdmi. Also banana plugs to attach the speaker cables to your receiver. Cost about £5.00 a pair or go to ebay you will get some good ones on there 10 plugs for less than £7Good luck with your choicewww.richersounds.co.uk

Question : how do i set non cable channels on my samsung lcd tv?
im trying to set the channels on my new Samsung 32" Lcd 720p Hdtv and i do not have cable. I keep getting weak or no signal.

Answer:
Get an antenna, connect it to your tv, run the over the air channel scan as outlined in your owner's manual. If you still can't get a signal, you can try moving the antenna closer to a window, and then try an antenna with a signal booster, if all that fails, an outdoor antenna could work. Or you may be too far from any broadcast towers to pick up over the air signals and will need cable.
