Redefining the standards for viewing quality, energy-efficiency and home entertainment decor, the Samsung 6000 Series LED HDTV deliver unparalleled picture quality and enhanced connectivity while also helping you reduce your carbon footprint with the reduced power consumption of the LED screen. Using Light Emitting Diodes (LEDs) as its primary light source--rather than traditional Cold Cathode Fluorescent Lamps (CCFL)--this cutting edge HDTV also offers the benefits of an ultra-high contrast ratio and a slim depth that allows for a more artful design.

Awesome!

Great tv. Have had it about a month and watch ten times more tv than I use to just because it looks so good; watched football in HD on my old plasma (purchased 3 years ago) and was shocked at how much better the quality is on this tv. Very glad I spent the extra money. Highly recommended.

AMAZING.... sometimes. Love- Hate

What's great about it: Light Weight, Looks Stunning, Great Features
What's not so great: Off angle viewing, dark scene viewing, corners glowing, backlight is not uniform

"I WISH I LOVED THIS TV!

After being a plasma fan for years, I gave an LED-LCD a chance. Set-up was great. Features-a-plenty! Picture quality... AMAZING!!!.... sometimes. I played 'UP' on blu-ray. It blew my mind! Full screen, and bright colors; you will not find a tv with a better image. There is a definate sweet spot for viewing. Which leads me to my first complaint.

-Viewing angle: When your in the sweet spot. It looks great! When your one couch cushion over, you start to loose it. Contrast is lost, and dark images turn into a washed out blueish color. I was used to the viewing angle on my Samsung plasma, and deeply missed it after setting up the LED.

- Low Light: This is a Great TV for daytime viewing. Colors stand out. At night, in a dark room? Not so much. You start to notice that the blacks are not as black as they were during the day. Also, you will notice the corners of the screen starting to light up with a bluish tinge. Extremely distracting especially when watching a movie or show with a 1.85 or 2.4 aspect ratio.

-Backlight uniformity: What uniformity? In a very dark scene, you will really start to notice hot spots and cold spots when it comes to backlight. On an all black screen, it looks like black and blue camo. I even noticed Hot Spots during the olypics in very white areas. Again, distracting. This is most likely due to the side lighting as opposed to the full array lighting.

OVERVIEW! When you find that sweet spot, and play somthing full screen or with a native 16X9 resolution, the picture will blow your mind. But when you stand up, walk around, watch in a dark room, or watch movies that are matted on top and bottom? You will really start to notice a dissapointing amount of distracting problems.

I wish I didn't have to return it, but unfortunately I am going back to plasma."

Short cord, one speaker, great picture

The first thing to understand about LED TVs is that they are actually LCD TV that are backlit with LEDs. You still aren't going to get true blacks and whites without getting a heavy and power sucking plasma. That being said, the picture is amazing! We've owned several LCDs and plasmas, and this is an outstanding product.

In my house, we don't particulary care for the Auto Motion while watching TV shows. For games and sports, it's great, but it seems almost unnatural while watching some shows. We bought this model because we knew that we weren't going to use the 240 Hz Auto Motion anyway.

I have a few things to point out about this TV though.

First, the power cord is incredibly short (At least the one we received from Amazon Warehouse Deals, it was.). This is a very important thing to know if you are mounting on the wall or above a fireplace that doesn't have a highly mounted power outlet.

Second, there is only one speaker, and it is in the back of the TV. This isn't particularly a problem for us because we use an A/V receiver, but don't expect the TV's audio to sound good on its own. Another thing concerning audio, is that it does not have Audio Out so that you can plug your components (DirectTV, XBOX, Blue Ray, Computer...) into the TV and have the audio be sent out to a stereo.

BE PREPARED TO BUY AN A/V RECEIVER.

Great TV, greate purchasing experience!

This is an awesome TV despite some of the negative comments you may read. I have to mention that Amazon offers quality products, same as your local store (Best Buy, Sears, etc.) but at much more cheaper prices. Their service is excellent, super fast shipping and no surprises as far as the product condition and/or description, you can rest assure that you get right original product every time.
Back to the TV, looks beautiful On or Off. The contrast ratio is AMAZING, super blacks and pure whites, the quality of the image is superb! Just make sure you have HD content available to really appreciate the picture quality. No problems so far with corner light issues, you will have to be extremely picky and force yourself to find this type of issue. Samsung has the best design in the market, so thin, lightweight and energy efficient, it produces NO heat whatsoever.
Perhaps the only negative is the speaker sound, it's not great but good enough for regular TV programming. However, this is not a problem to me, I have always used a home theatre system for music concerts or movies with all the TV's I have owned.
The 120Hz motion effect is very cool; it may not work with all types of programming but for nature or sport events is pretty neat! The good thing about it is that you decide when to turn it on or off or how much of it you want.
I will definitely recommend this TV.

AMAZING TV!!!

Had to recently return my 50" Samsung plasma TV (PN50B860). Although the quality of the plasma TV was breathtaking the excessive buzzing was a deal breaker. This TV is bigger (by 5"), lighter (by 10 lbs), cooler (plasma got burning hot), quieter (zero noise) and more energy efficient (40% more efficient than LCD which are already more efficient than plasmas). Again the quality of the LED is not as superb as the plasma but it is still fantastic (black levels are actually blacker in a lit room). VERY happy with my purchase, would recommend to anyone.

Very good HDTV for modest price

Have had this HDTV for several weeks and am using it in our kitchen. We have a pretty small cabinet space for the TV, so I needed to purchase one this small. That said, it is probably just a bit small for kitchen use (we have a combined kitchen and dining space, so not infrequently we are 20 feet from the screen.

I am happy with the TV, but will still be looking for another bigger one with dimensions that would still fit our cabinet.

What I can tell you is that the picture is very good, but has the limitations of all LCD TVs--if you are viewing at an angle the picture deteriorates. This is not a fault of the brand, just a fact of life for these very inexpensive LCDs. We use it connected straight to our cable provider (no cable box) and it works perfectly.

The TV was easy to set up and has operated flawlessly.

My biggest criticism is the audio quality, it is pretty bad. We have in fact added some inexpensive desktop computer speakers (using the included earphone port) and this has greatly improved the sound. This tells you something because these computer speakers aren't great themselves. I suppose the problem is the TV is just so small that they can't build in decent speakers.

I took off one star due the the poor audio. Otherwise, this is a very nice TV for very little cost.

Good TV for kitchen, etc.

Decent TV, good price. Picture with HD is very nice, Standard def picture is not too bad. Sound is perfectly fine, as long as you are not trying to drown anything out with the TV's speakers.

Excellent Customizable Picture Options,Picture as Good as LED

I bought this TV from Amazon in Feb. 2010. First let me tell everyone about the shipper. Amazon uses a third party Company named Pilot, in the Pittsburgh area. I had to contact them to even get a Delivery date, then they forgot about me. So I ended up getting the TV the next day, that was fine. The company however is not set-up for home deliveriers, they are a commerical Company of heavy operator's of goods and services. They ship things UPS and FEDEX won't. Ok, This Samsung LN46B630 is a great tv. I researched for about a month before I deceided to purchase this Model. You will need 2 people to put the base on properly, it's not as easy as eariler models. It is very sturdy though. It comes with a string, so if you are using the stand, you can anchor it to the wall. Peace of mind knowing it wont go anywhere, I did use this feature cause I have 2 small ones running around the house. Picture quality is top notch. It was set to vivid which I switched to standard along with several adjustments which improved the picture greatly. (I am using it as a monitor, which runs through my Denon AVR4310CI. It has the Anchor Bay Video processing chip which upconverts all signals. It does a great job converting our cable service, Comcast to 1080P. With the vast array of adjustments from the Receiver and the TV, The Picture Quality can Rival some LED HDTV's with ease. Also this is a 120HZ set but runs at 60HZ alot of the time,(You can select between 4 Auto Motion Plus 120HZ options, Off, Clear, Standard, Smooth, Custom & Demo.I have Mine Set to smooth.) When you click the info button, the top let corner tells you picture quality and HZ. I have not noticed much jitter at all, and we watch alot of sports as well as play alot of video games on the PS3, (Which looks like you can step into the picture and join in!) I can say that about cable TV as well, some programs just look to good. I've played Blu-ray's, DVD's and even VHS and all sources were very detailed. It has plenty of inputs 4 HDMI-CEC. Which means they will control your other devices. You select the input for PS3 it will turn it on for you, or shut it off, pretty cool feature. The screen is a matte black, which is alot better since we have a high light living room with lots of windows. On really black scenes, you noticed a little pixel junk. Which I only saw in the lower left corner. It didn't really bother us and is only noticable with a good eye. As far as the sound goes, I'm not sure as we have a HT set-up. So we don't use the audio from the TV-SET. Also this set has Internet capabilities. Samsung calls it info Link, which there is a one touch button on the remote for this feature. You get news, weather and sports. I gave this HDTV 5 Stars because of the great features and ease of use with the remote. As well as an Outstanding Picture Quality, and a Great Price.

Great TV

I recently purchased the Samsung LN46B630 and love the picture quality. This is the second Samsung LCD I have purchased in the last year with the first being a 52". The only downside to the 46" is that the volume control increments are actually too small meaning that it takes a little longer to adjust the volume (i.e. when commercials crank up the sound. The sound quality though is above average. Also, I orginally bought a 40" in lieu of the 46" but found it to be too small for the room I had it in. Amazon had no problem with the return and handled it quickly and efficiently. I had my replacement in a few days.

Excellent HD TV for a great price!

I've been shopping since before Thanksgiving in local outlets and researching sources like Consumer's Report and this Samsung 46" HDTV w/1080 and 120hz is the top rated unit. I ordered this through Amazon and it was shipped timely and flawlessly without any damage. The carrier delivered the unit and set it up in my living room-- took about 15 minutes. The HDTV itself is as advertised and thus far works perfectly with great screen definition, excellent audio and no problems to date. I can't say enough about the quality of the unit and the fantastic price that Amazon offered. No complaints!!

excellent picture, beats my Sony Z series

having always been a Sony fan, my first HDTV was a Sony Z Series 1080p 240Hz 100k:1 contrast (a notch below Sony's top of the line XBR series), i took a chance to purchase this Samsung B series priced very competitively. The TV's picture quality, sharpness, color richness, smoothness, quality build etc ... outright beats my pricier Sony. I'm exceedingly pleased, highly recommending this set.

on a less upbeat note, CEVA the "white glove" carrier refused to deliver my TV on the day promised, and could only schedule a delivery 4 days later! I couldn't wait so I drove 45 miles to pick up the set. Amazon acknowledged the problem and issued me a 5% credit.

Amazon...you're the BEST!

I bought the Samsung LN46B550 originally and I was happy with it until I discovered the "60hz vs 120hz" difference. The B550 was only 60hz and I found out the higher model B650 is at 120hz. Wow, big picture quality difference!!! So I called Amazon customer service to return the B550 for the B650. The service was amazing. After one week, they picked up the LN46B550 and delivered the LN46B650 the same day. They refunded my original tv purchase within 2 weeks.

See this is one of many reasons why I buy everything through AMAZON. Returning an item w/ no problem - 5 stars!!!

Great TV at a great price

I got this television yesterday afternoon and had it hooked up to a blue-ray and Xbox 360 within an hour. The picture quality is absolutely amazing! The red TOC - though not great for everyone fits perfect in my room. The picture while watching SD channels is garbage, but any kind of digital or HD channel the picture is perfect. I noticed a few artifacts while watching an HD movie on a fast moving scene, but it was brief and did not distract.
I have not hooked up the internet with the set as of right now, but look forward to doing so soon.
The sound is perfect for my room.

In all, I am very happy with my purchase of the TV.

Great Tv

Considering that I am what most people would consider to be a tight wad, it took a considerable effort for me to spend $1300 on a TV. After living with an 18" TV for 11 years, about 2 of which half the time I had to unplug it because it would not turn off, I decided it was time to get a new TV. I began by looking for used ones on Craigslist but finaly decided to bite the bullet and get a new one. I spent months comparing reviews online and comparing in stores. I had it narrowed to the Vizio SV471XVT, mainly because it seemed like a lot of bang for the buck, the Sony Bravia KDL-46V5100 and this of Samsung LN46B650. I had pretty much decided on the Vizio but, if I was going to spend around $1000 on anything, I wanted to see one in person. This turned out to be a futile effort. I found lesser and smaller models at Wal Mart and Costco, but not this one. This made me begin to look at spending the extra money for the Samsung or the Sony. Again I spent hours staring at these Tv's in Best Buy, Sears, and Fry's. Even though the sales people were all pretty much in agreement that the Sony had a clearer picture, I fell in love with the picture on this TV. It is simply fantastic. I do believe that part of the great picture comes from the glossy screen, so this should be kept in mind when looking at this TV. I ended up putting good quality curtains in my living room to fight reflection. It is still worth it. The picture is that good. I also like the fact that the set up of all the settings, there are many, is fairly intuitive and I was able to figure it all out in an afternon. I realy like all of the customizable settings. If there is anything that I could say that could be improved on this TV, it is the automatic volume control that is supposed to level the volume of comercials. I have found that, with this feature turned on, movies or shows that have a wide range of volume levels from action to dialogue, it tries to level it out and it can be a bit annoying. My only other thought is that the inputs on the back of the TV and the power cord should be on the same side. This would make hiding the cables when it is wall mounted a bit easier.I also decided to spend the money on the Monster Home Theater PowerCenter(tm) HTS 1000 MKIII with Clean Power(tm) Stage 2 that has line conditioning. I actualy got this before my TV was delivered and noticed a better quality picture even on my old TV. And besides, if I was spending $1300 on a TV, spending $100 to protect it seemed very reasonable.

Question : I need help with my new Samsung LCD TV and my Comcast HD box?
I have a new 22 inch Samsung LCD HDTV. It is widescreen. Now, when I go to an HD channel and watch the HD shows, it fills the entire screen. But, whenever I go to a non-HD channel, I have black bars on the side of the screen. I have an HDTV downstairs, and whether it is on an HD channel or not, it fills the entire screen. Can anybody help me with this?

Answer:
There are TWO aspect ratio settings....one on the cable box and one on the TV set......Set the TV to FULL or STANDARD.....Set the Cable box to 16:9 or Wide.....but be careful to NOTE that some cable boxes have TWO settings in them also.....One setting for 16:9 pictures and a possible SECOND one to select the size of a 4:3 picture coming from the TV station....if that second setting is set to normal and not STRETCH then you get the pillar boxes......And some of these damn TV Stations think it's COOOL to lock in a 4:3 picture onto a 16:9 FRAME so you can't remove those damn pillar boxes.....Local TV stations do a lot of that.....They SUCK! And all you can do is Call them and complain until they get so overwhelmed by so many upset customers, that they switch to WideScreen Video.....That's how you get things done....

Question : How do I play my ps2 on my 52-inch Samsung LCD TV?
I hoooked up my ps2 to my 52-inch Samsung LCD TV and the picture is blurry? like I'm talkin very blurry, is there some kind of setting I have to use to play ps2 clearly on the 52-inch?

Answer:
Might be that your playing an old game with standard resolution and/or you have it connected to your TV with a mediocre (standard) video cable. You can use component cables; Sony has one for the PS2 and there is also 3rd party ones but obviously you want to go with the Sony brand. Some games support progressive scan (with component cables) and they look better than regular definition games played on a composite and/or S-video. Also some HDTV's (like LCD's and Plasma's) make your PS2 games (that do not support progressive scan) look worse than a regular TV, specially if they're bigger than 42in. This also happens with (most) regular standard/non digital channel programing (though HD channels obviously look great -also with component or HDMI cables hooked up) . DLP HDTV's don't suffer from this problem(s) but is an older, less popular technology because most DLP TV's (if not al)l are not flat (body wise not screen wise) and therefor bulkier (not to mention a lot more heavier) and consume more space and energy.Like I said try component video cables (they have a green, blue, red, white and red connection tip) they improve the picture quality and are built for HDTV's and forget those standard composite cables (with the yellow, white and red tips) since these cables video input/output was meant for standard (non HD) TV's.

Question : can i connect my desktop computer to samsung lcd tv?
i have desktop computer.. and samsung lcd tv with HDMI port.. now can i connect my computer to my tv.. please let me know as soon as possible..i am trying this for video conferencei have tv tuner card both internal and external..is it possible with that?

Answer:
If you want to use the HDMI port on your LCD HDTV to connect to your computer, your computer must have either a DVI or HDMI port.If your computer has a DVI port, you use a DVI-to-HDMI cable. If your computer has HDMI, you use a standard HDMI cable. If your computer only has old analog 15-pin VGA, then you cannot use the HDMI on your TV unless you upgrade your computer to a better graphics card with DVI or HDMI (assuming your computer has an AGP or PCIExpress 16x slot to accept the better graphics card).Hope this helps.EDITED TO ADD:Nope. That TV tuner card is absolutely irrelevent. It's for receiving a TV signal to capture video onto your computer, not for connecting to a display.

About the best you can do with the PS2 is 480p (enhanced defenition) via a component cable (red, green ,blue) and at the same time the game itself must support 480p, God of war 2 for example. You will get a pretty good picture this way.
