Awesome buying experience!

This was a terrific buy! The T.V. couldn't have been a better deal and the quality of picture is unreal! The T.V. was delivered exactly when they said it would be, the delivery man was profeesional and made sure everything was totally functional when he delivered it and we have been in big screen digital heaven ever since. If you can find a better deal than this, you deserve a medal.

I purchased the Samsung LN52A630 52-Inch 1080p 120 Hz LCD HDTV with Red Touch of Color TV in June of 2009 for $1,765.33 and have loved it ever since. This is my first time buying an LCD TV and I don't think I could have done any better. The price was great and the quality of product exceeded my expectations. I would definitely buy a Samsung again.

This Tv is by far worth my money. I look forward to coming home and using it. The 120hz automotion plus makes HD movie viewing 100 times more enjoyable and is so chrystal clear. It feels like I'm actually there. It works great with my blu-ray player.

I Can See Clearly Now !!!!

WOW what a great picture!! I will never go back to tube tvs again. As a matter of fact, I am looking to order one for my bedroom now!! This is a great HDTV for a living room. Crystal clear picture and not too hard to learn everything even though I am still learning. The sound could be a little bit better but is good. I highly recommend this tv for the price it goes for now. I got it 7 months ago and the prices have come down as much as 300 dollars!!!

Power Board Burned Out in 3 years

In fall of 2006 I paid $1150 at Best Buy very excited about the new technology. I also thought at the time like televisions of the past, it may last more then 3 years. Or that it could be fixed if it broke. After the second year the power board acted up. The tv blinked on and off instructions said it over heated. It resolved itself a few months later, but the warranty ended 6 months prior. Keep in mind I have the best Monster Surge protector. It had the features and benefits before broadcast went digital. I was waiting for broadcast tech to catch up to my LCD TV. 2008 TV goes digital, I got 18 months of HDMI television and the power board burned out. Dead. I took it to Stanton Repairs, self proclaimed the honest guys who fix TVs. 2 weeks later these guys are stumped. It can not be fixed. I am shocked. A TV has such a short life span? I am a fan of Samsung but they don't stand behind their product. The disclaimer I got from customer service said in 2006, the technology was so new we gave you 90 days plus one year parts and labor. After 3 years of normal home use, Samsung had no idea what would fail. Stanton had my TV for 2 weeks with no phone calls or no news. I was told maybe 1 day, 2 days, 5 days. 2 weeks later I got the phone call. Buy a new TV. I will never ever buy a Samsung LCD TV.

I'm not a TV or game nut. I use Phillips rabbit ears and watch what I need from local stations. I had to buy a new tv cause the old CRT one quit. I got the 2641d partly based on an Amazon reviewer's good luck on an air antenna.
I wanted a light tv cause I live on the gulf coast(evacuating). That said, I started looking for an LCD, built in dual NTSC/ATSC tuners, PC monitor capable. The 2641d has them all and is light weight.

When I set it up, I just plugged it in and clicked on all the local channels I knew of. Some were OK and some snowy/bad. This made me buy another bigger(more expensive) antenna--It worked no better than Walmart's Phillips so I returned it.

I figured I'd have to live with what I had, but one night I was playing with the auto set up and let it go through the channels and wow!
Don't know what I did?, but now I get two or three signals from each channel, analog, HD, 480, weather and such. ex: ch 5 is CBS analog; move up to 5-1 and same program but HD, 5-2 is weather, and 5-3 is 480/720.
On my PBS channel I get 4 different programs. 42,42-1,42-2,42-3. One is HD others are clear as can be too. Forgive me if most of you already know about this, but I told you I'm not a TV watcher and this feature blew me out. The 3000:1 contrast ratio is one of highest too.

Lesson is: read the manual and let the tv select the programs through the auto mode. Best thing is that either the digital station is great or it won't pick it up. I live nearly 40 miles from the broadcast antennas.

This TV works great on air antenna signals. Price was reasonable and picture is amazing. Can't imagine seeing it on satellite or cable. Now I'm playing with the favorites, PIP(PC+tv--not multi tv channels), and other stuff. Highly reccomend it.

I think we got a lemon. We really enjoyed this TV, but after less than 2 years of use the LCD screen died. The repair price is $500-600.

Excellent HDTV

This TV is excellent. It does everything I want it to do. The picture is amazing and the sound isn't to bad either and it also has all the hookups that I need. I mainly purchased it to replace my old JVC LCD TV, because it was having problems. So far no problems and I have had this one for a few months now. Like I said, this TV is excellent. Highly recommend it.

Very pleased

I was very pleased with this purchase and haven't had any problems with the unit (I've owned mine for 9 months as of this writing). It seems very intuitive and easy to use.

When I was researching my purchase, I was concerned about the glossy finish causing glare or being easily damaged (I have two small children) but I selected this unit based on the specs and aesthetic look. I definitely recommend looking at actual units in stores (I used Circuit City and Best Buy for my comparison shopping). Anyway, the glossy screen hasn't been a problem for my home / use after all.

I had also planned to mount this TV on the wall (to keep it safe from the little crazy people who live with us). After setting it on our console I was surprised at how stable it was and decided that the wall mount was unnecessary. I may still decide to mount it someday but since we already have a console that we use to store our A/V components in I don't see a need to.

Nice TV, as long as it lasts...

The TV is a nice unit, except that it has a 'birth defect'. Within 18 months of purchase it started clicking and not powering on right away, and eventually stopped working. This is the second Samsung I own which had the same problem. A few hundred dollars later, a TV repair shop replaced the power supply board and got it working again. I wrote a more detailed report for the LN-T4669F model. Samsung will completely ignore you because the 12 month warranty has expired. Buyer beware!

Best TV I've ever owned

This is the best Tv I've ever owned. While that isn't saying much, this TV is excellent. I bought it used off craigslist and made sure to do my homework before I bought it. With all the reviews on amazon and everyone raving so much about it, I couldn't pass it up for $600! I haven't mounted it on the wall yet, but that will come soon. I have everything hooked up to this tv, my satellite, my xbox 360, and I use it as a second computer monitor for watching netflix and movies. I have had no problems whatsoever. Wonderful tv and wonderful picture.

Beautiful picture. Great TV.

Absolutely beautiful picture in HD on OTA. I bought this TV for my parents and they are blown away. The SD looks alright on it as well. My parents will be soon switching to DirectTV's HD programming because after watching HD they do not want to go back. The one star I take away is I tried to update the firmware and once it scanned the USB drive on the back the TV shut off and never came back on. Don't know if that is an isolated problem but I called Samsung and within a week had a new main drive and power supply put into it.

We purchased the Samsung this past Christmas and are very happy with it. We read so many reviews and went to different stores checking out the competition. It seems that many people thought the sound was less than what it should be but we think it is fine. We are around 60 so it has taken us awhile to figure out what is what but other than that we are very pleased. Gayle

Samsung LN37A450

I received this LN37A450 as a replacement to the previous model, which would have been a horrible review in itself! I have only had the LN37A450 for three months.

I have encountered a lot of problems with the "mura effect" also called "clouding" It has made it difficult to watch movies with a dark background because of the "mura effect" in the corners. I also see the "clouding" when changing channels. Recently I started hearing a buzzing sound when the channels were changed (the Samsung tech who came by this weekend, said that some people have been experiencing that). The tech replaced the screen/control panel to no avail! Now the voices often come across as buzzing/vibrating sounds. Not good when you are trying to watch the NFL Playoffs!

This LCD has been a lemon for me, along with my previous version of this LCD. Between the two LCD's I have had 5 visits by Samsung for various problems!

I have requested that Samsung refund my money.... I am waiting for that call from the highest department (I should be getting that call by tomorrow). If I do not get the refund, I will "try" to talk with the Office of the President of Samsung.... For the money I spent on the LCD it would be worth a try!

****Update****

The call back has still not happened.... 1/21-I was told the e-mail to a case manager was sent marked as a priority. 2/12- I was told it was in the que of a case manager and another e-mail was sent. 2/19-I was told to send a copy of my receipt to Samsung. So I am still waiting.......

Another Awesome Samsung HDTV!

First off I must say that I already own 2 other Samsung TV's one is a 26" LCD and the other is a 42" Plasma televison which I both love and have no complaints about! The LN37A450 LCD is no different exept that it does have more features than being that it's a more updated model. I was torn at first between the Sony KDL-37L4000 Model and this one..but as my wife said when we saw it in the store ( The picture is much better ).

The "Blacks" on this LCD rival the Plasma 42" that I own, and the amount of features for picture control is superb.

Features

Native Resolution: The Samsung LN37A450 has a display resolution of 1366 x 768 and scales all inputs for display at 768p. The HDMI inputs will accept 1080i, 720p, and 480p signals, while the component video inputs will accept 1080i, 720p, 480p, and 480i signals.

High Contrast Ratio/Brightness: The TV has a dynamic contrast ratio of 10,000:1 and a 450 nit brightness rating, providing a stunningly realistic picture.

Digital Natural Image Engine (DNIe): Samsung's exclusive Digital Natural Image engine dramatically improves the picture by enhancing the contrast, detail, and white balance, and reducing noise. Entertainment Modes: You can set the TV for the optimal display and sound for different types of programs: Sports, Game, or Cinema.

Picture Sizes: You can choose one of the following picture sizes:

* 16:9: sets the picture to 16:9 wide mode
* Zoom 1: vertically enlarges the size of the picture and allows you to move the enlarged picture using the arrows on the remote
* Zoom 2: vertically enlarges the size of the picture more than Zoom 1 and allows you to move the enlarged picture using the arrows on the remote
* Wide Fit: proportionally enlarges the picture to fit the entire screen without changing the aspect ratio
* 4:3: sets the picture to 4:3 normal mode with pillars on the left and right of the screen
* Just Scan: see the full image with no resizing when an HDMI input (720/1080i), Component (1080i), or DTV (1080i) signal is used

Input Source Names: You can assign a preprogrammed name to each of the inputs. When input naming is completed, you will no longer have to remember which component is connected to each input when selecting a source to watch. Source names include VCR, DVD, Cable STB, Satellite STB, PVR STB, AV Receiver, Game, Camcorder, PC, TV, IPTV, Blu-Ray, HD-DVD, and Digital Media Adapter.

Channel Labels: Each analog channel programmed into memory can be labeled with a name up to 5 characters. Digital channels names are already assigned and cannot be edited.

Favorite Channel: You can create a list of your favorite channels and recall the list using the FAV.CH button on the remote.

PC-Capable: This unit has a 15-pin D-Sub (RGB) input that allows you to use it as a high-resolution computer monitor. The HDMI 2 input can also be used with a computer. The TV can be set to automatically adjust to the video signals received, or you can use the setup menu to adjust the screen quality and position. No cables are supplied for connecting the TV to a PC.

Digital Signal Strength Meter: The digital signal strength meter can be used to help you find the antenna position that delivers the highest HDTV digital signal strength.

Analog Channel Fine Tuning: The fine tuning feature allows you to manually adjust analog channels for optimal reception. A separate fine tuning setting may be put into the TV's memory for each analog channel.

Auto Volume: Auto volume automatically adjusts the volume of the desired channel, lowering the sound output when the modulation signal is high or raising the sound output when the modulation signal is low. This reduces the difference in volume when changing channels.

Automatic Sound Settings: You can choose from the following sound settings:

* Standard: resets the standard factory settings
* Music: for watching music videos and concerts
* Movie: for watching movies
* Speech: for watching a show that is mostly dialog
* Custom: adjust the 5-band EQ; 100 Hz, 300 Hz, 1 kHz, 3 kHz, and 10 kHz

SRS TruSurround XT: TruSurround is a patented SRS technology for playing 5.1 multi-channel content using only two speakers, it delivers a virtual surround sound experience through two speakers (internal or external), it is fully compatible with all multi-channel formats

Sleep Timer: The sleep timer switches the television off after a specified amount of time. The sleep timer can be set to 30, 60, 90, 120, 150, or 180 minutes.

On/Off Timer: The three On/Off timers allow you to program the television to turn itself on and off by selecting a specific on time and a specific off time. You also choose the On Timer's channel and Volume. The on and off timers work independently of one another.

On/Off Melody: A unique melody plays when the TV is turned on and off. The melody volume is adjustable, or you can turn this feature off if you prefer.

Anynet+: Anynet+ is an AV network system that enables you to control other components with your Samsung TV's remote. The Anynet+ system can be used only with Samsung AV devices that support the Anynet+ feature and are connected with HDMI 1.3 cables. The Anynet+ feature must be turned on in the menu to function. Anynet+ can support up to 12 AV devices in total.
Mounting Options

Detachable Stand: The LN37A450 comes with a table-top stand for easy placement on top of a counter or table. On the stand, the TV can swivel 20° left or right.

Wall Mounting: You can remove the stand and mount this display on the wall using an optional wall-mount bracket. The TV has four threaded screw holes spaced to accommodate many universal wall mount brackets. The hole spacing is 200mm x 200mm and requires four M6 (6mm) machine screws

Kensington Lock: When mounting the monitor in a public place, you can secure it with an optional anti-theft device called a Kensington Lock. This TV has a slot on the rear panel to accommodate a Kensington Lock device.
Remote Control

Remote Control: The supplied remote is pre-programmed to operate this unit, plus it has controls for other Samsung units (DVD, Blu-Ray players, etc.) connected via HDMI using the Anynet+ protocol.
Inputs and Outputs Notes

Side Panel Inputs: The LN37A450 features a set of jacks on the left side panel for easy connection:

* HDMI In 3
* A/V in 2 (S-video, composite video, RCA stereo audio)
* Headphone out (3.5mm), the TV's internal speakers are muted when you plug in headphones

HDMI: There are three HDMI terminals, two on the rear panel and one on the side. HDMI 2 can be used for a DVI-equipped component. It has a separate analog audio connection and a DVI-to-HDMI adapter will be needed. HDMI 1 can also be used to connect a computer. The HDMI jacks accept 1080i, 720p, and 480p signals.

PC: This input consists of a stereo mini-jack and an analog RGB (D-Sub 15-pin) jack.

Component Video Inputs: The 2 sets of component video inputs will accept 1080i, 720p, 480p and 480i signals. One of the component video inputs can accept a composite video signal by plugging the yellow composite video plug into the green RCA jack.

Digital Audio: The optical digital output on the rear panel will output Dolby Digital (when available) or 2 channel PCM.

Ex-Link: This jack connects to an optional powered Samsung wall mount bracket that will allow you to adjust the TV viewing angle using the television's remote control.
