exceptional clarity
Even after a month I am still amazed at the clarity and vivid colors, easy to use remote. The only down side is the speaker system on the set. Don't even bother, it needs an amplifier or other surround system. Definately worth the money spent.

blurring, pixelation and reflects room lights..
I actually bought the samsung 7100 55" led tv at my local Frys. The only difference between the 7100 and 7000 is the red touch of color around the bezel. it seems this TV suffers from the downside of both LCD and plasma. there is blurring and pixelation in fast moving scenes like a LCD TV and the glass reflects room light/windows like a plasma. why Samsung did not go with a matte finish is beyond me. power consumption is very low and picture looks good (close to a plasma) as long as the scene is not fast moving. I have comcast HD and it appears most channel still don't broadcast in 1080p (as of july 2010). in my opinion a 720p panasonic plasma is the best value out there if you want to upgrade to HD.

Great if you only expect it to last 5 months
I really loved the TV, but it quit working only after 5 months. This is the second Samsung TV that I have owned. The first was a 46 inch LCD TV and six months after the one year warranty a row of dead pixels appeared in the middle of the TV. That cost me close to 800 bucks to fix. I decided to upgrade to an LED TV. There are plenty of other manufacturers of LED's but I purchased another Samsung because of the picture quality and the reviews. The picture was great, but it only lasted 5 months. I don't know, but I have owned two Samsung's and they both broke one lasted 18 mo and this one 5. Buyer beware! If you buy this be sure and get the extended warranty!

Love this TV
Stunning picture, incredible clarity. Like looking through a window. Flashlight effect visible when there is no picture on the screen, but otherwise not noticeable. Not worth grading down. Super happy with my purchase.

Definitely a great TV
I research for 3 months for a new tv and after checking out all of the TVs for myself and reading all of the review this TV made the most sense for the money and what I needed. I have a 6.1 sound system xbox 360, PS3, HD DVR and everything runs through my receiver via HDMI. This TV has a great picture and provides many options. I would suggest if you calibrate it you custom your 120 b/c it makes it look soap opera like. If you calibrate it right it gives you a clean finish like a plasma. The only things is it does get a little blury at times when watching sports, but then you can turn it back on. Also it has an automatic drop to 24 hz when watching bluray which is its native resolution. This gives you a much cleaner look. All in all I am very happy with my buy...and I am a very picky shopper. The only thing I don't like the fact that you have to pay extra for the wireless internet adapter....which I don't even use that much b/c they don't offer Netflix. Hope this helped...

Great for use as both a TV and Computer Monitor!
I bought this tv on sale at Costco a couple of months ago. I LOVE it. I'm a college kid and just rent a room from someone, so this is the only tv I have and works perfect for everything I need. I love hooking it up to my macbook pro (the back of the tv has a built in computer vga cable input) and using it for streaming things from the internet, or just to have some extra desktop space while doing big graphic design projects. The picture quality is great - clear, bright colors. The sound isn't just incredible, but is great for a small TV. I'm considering getting some external speakers though for when I want to boost the bass - but the built in speakers do the job well and are plenty loud for everyone in the room to hear (I NEVER have to turn it up all the way). The interface for switching between Computer/TV/Wii works great - I enjoy the menu gui that is semi-transparent while still showing whatever you have playing behind it. Aesthetically speaking, this is a beautiful machine... I adore the red "rose black" color with the clear see-through framing (and pedestal) around it - very fun. Overall I highly recommend this TV. Perfect size for dorm/kitchen/bedroom use, and not so small that you couldn't use it in the living room if you want to have a nice quality tv on a lower budget.

Customer Review :
Very sharp image and no noticable blur
I looked at a LOT of HD TVs before I bought one, and long ago decided I wanted 120Hz because the 60Hz ones were so blurry during motion. I had decided I liked the Samsung ones feature-wise, but didn't at all like the touch of red bezel on the models I liked. I watched the prices and features of TVs for over a year. When I saw Amazon's price for this TV, and it had 240Hz, and was touch of grey ... I just couldn't wait any longer. I bought this TV as my first HD TV to replace an old 32". So I can now watch the digital and HD versions of the network stations I get with my very basic cable. They look great, but I will say that the sound from the internal speakers isn't great. Fortunately I always have my TV hooked up to my 5.1 surround stereo for watching movies, so it isn't an issue for me. It looks awesome watching DVD movies, but today I watched my first blu-ray movie ... and it is so sharp that at times I'm distracted because it is so easy to pickup on details that make you see that the movie is filmed on a set. I guess I'll eventually get used to that. Another thing I don't like is that the bezel is soft plastic ... my cat likes to chew on things like cardboard boxes, and for some reason he is attracted to the TV, there are now scratches in the corner. One last thing that is annoying, I live in a rural area and the power flickers sometimes during wind or storms. I have it on a VERY good surge suppressor, but this TV turns itself on when the power flicks off and on quickly. Not fun to be woken up at night because I was last watching the news (i.e. volume turned up as opposed to 0 volume when watching movie and using stereo).

GREAT tv, dead after 3 months!!!
First off, i'm not going to berate Samsung quality as all my previous LCDs have been Samsung and they've worked wonderfully. I'm extremely disappointed that this tv only lasted about 3 months before i got the infamous "tv turns on and off repeatedly" issue. I spent months researching my next TV only to be out of luck during the Memorial day weekend, the TV failed me on Friday (what luck!). When the TV is working, it is GORGEOUS. The fact that i can plug in my external HDD and play MKV files straight from the USB port is a real Godsend. I really regret buying this from Amazon and not somewhere like Best Buy, where i can walk in and get a replacement on the spot. I'm really torn about the TV, it is by far the best TV i have ever owned but i'm deeply disappointed it lasted for only 3 months. Samsung has been great with me and they're going to come and pick it up in 2 days, i would recommend this tv if you can get it at Best Buy where they would exchange it if something happens to it.

Nice TV, TERRIBLE service
I purchased this TV in July of 2009, and it worked flawlessly until May 2010. During that time, the TV was excellent. Great Picture quality. Also of note, Amazon's delivery and service were exemplary as always. Unfortunately this is where the good things I have to say about this TV end.
I have had a defect with my Television where it acts as if it is constantly receiving input from the buttons or remote. The light is blinking constantly and the TV changes input sources randomly, rendering it unusable. Over the last month, I have had it repaired at the expense of Samsung twice. Neither repair fixed the problem and now Samsung wants to schedule a 3rd repair. I told them that I am not interested in waiting around for another repair (if it's like the first two, it will be another two weeks) because I have already had a broken TV for over a month. I told them that I would like an exchange for a new TV instead, and they refuse to cooperate. I have now filed a complaint with the BBB and will have to see how this plays out, but I cannot recommend a Samsung TV simply because of their service.

Incredible picture with nice features
Okay, I've only had this TV for about 1-2 weeks so this will be a first impressions review. I'm stepping up from Westinghouse TX-42F430S 42-Inch 1080p LCD HDTV that I purchased 2 years ago, so this is a HUGE difference for me.
Picture: This TV is beautiful. Going from 60 Hz to 240 was a huge jump for me and a lot of my shows just look so much smoother now. You can manually adjust these settings too, although I haven't gotten into that much yet. The contrast is insane and the colors are bright and vibrant. I am still in the process of tweaking the colors to my liking, but I know I'll get it soon. Side note: I usually use the THX optimization for TVs and I tried it with this TV and was not happy at all with the outcome. I felt that the default settings of the TV were much better, aside from being overly bright and contrasty. I'm going to give it another shot soon with a buddy so I have a second opinion.
Sound: The sound is one of the main reasons I'm giving this TV a 4 star. The sound is crap. What you hear is certainly clear and crisp and better then my previous TV... However you don't hear everything. For instance, when I'm playing Call of Duty on this TV, I have to keep the volume around 15 (as opposed to the 25-30 for TV watching). When I'm in the menus of the game, I can BARELY hear anything (from the music to the clicking of the menus), but when I get into the game the gunshots and air support are incredibly loud. Watching a movie I have the same problem. The TV doesn't kick out mids well at all. However I have surround sound speakers coming in next week, so this isn't a big deal to me.
Features: This TV comes packed full of widgets and internet games and weird stuff. I honestly haven't played with them much, but I'm sure some people would enjoy them. Between my phone and my laptop and the program I use to run my HTPC, I've got all my internet features covered tenfold.
Menus: Easy to browse and full of great features. There is a game mode which I've really enjoyed for online gaming. It apparently lower the picture quality some and speeds up the refresh rate... Personally I don't see much of a difference in picture quality, but I definitely notice the better refresh rate.
CONS: - There is NO picture mode button. This is really bothersome to me since I use a Harmony remote and would like to map a key to swap between picture modes easily for movie watching, gaming, or general TV watching. Every other Samsung TV I've come across has an "e.mode" button and I don't understand why they got rid of it. I even borrowed a friend's remote and every single button on his remote worked perfect with my TV aside from the picture mode button. - In addition to that, there is NO game mode button. It's not even in the picture mode menu, it's in the setup menu (why? who knows). This is another thing I'd love to map to my remote (although it would be easier to include it in the picture modes of the TV, and then only have 1 item to map to a remote), but no dice. What's annoying is that I read on the [...] description that Game Mode is 1 button away, but yea it's not. - The sound. I already mentioned about this above. - The screen is high gloss. This is great for the color of the picture... However it certainly reflects any bit of light onto the TV at night. You definitely need to either watch movies in no light, or position some low lights in a spot where the TV will not reflect them.
So far, this is my review on the TV (I may update later on, if my opinions change). I purchased it open box for a STEAL from Best Buy, so I am very happy with it despite the few cons. I walked out of the store with this TV and a 4 year warranty for a grand total of just over $1100, including taxes. I am definitely VERY happy with the purchase. If I bought it for full price, I may have thought twice about some of the cons.
Rating :
Love it!
I am not going to pretend to be a tech junkie or expert but as a common man customer who does plenty of research before buying products, I love this TV. It's clarity and definition are fantastic and simply said, I have loved it!

Very high Failure Rate for samsung touch of red HD TV
Many people are facing a black screen and TV repair bills as soon as 3 months after purchase due to poorly engineered power on circuits. These are basically the same failures from 70's to current TVs that use super-cheap capacitors to boot up and commonly fail. Worst problem is the Samsung customer service who will supposedly have it replaced "for free" (the 10 cent part) but only by their one authorized vendor at a substantial $$$ service charge. Buyer beware.

BEAUTIFUL in every way. Awesome TV.
We have had this TV for about two months, and love it to death. We got a steal on it at a local electronics store chain, and my girlfriend brought it home one day just as a spontaneous purchase because of the price she got on it. It's our first ever Samsung purchase too. I have to say that the picture on this TV is literally stunning. Perfect rich color and pitch black blacks. The screen is a bit reflective when it's off, so I was concerned that we'd have window and light reflection, but once it's on there is no reflection what so ever. A HUGE plus over some of the TV's I've seen that reflect light like a mirror. Don't understand why people spend thousands of dollars on TV's like that... but none of my busienss. The "touch of color" is a nice touch too. This TV works great with everything component we haven connected to it. Never really needed the manual because it's really easy to navigate the menus and set up. It's a GREAT and welcome addition to our bedroom. We had a 20" LCD in there previously, now it's in the kid's room for video games. Everybody's happy. It's really one of the prettiest, most easy to use, but also one of the most powerful 32" TV's I've seen as far as performance, options, and features go. 100% satisfied with it after only two months, and since we BABY our electronics almost to a fault, I'm expecting to be ejoying this one for a long time! Exactly what you're looking for when you spend a couple hundred dollars on a TV. You want options, ease of use, performance, and NO HASSLES or GLITCHES. Samsung hit the nail on the head with this one, hands down.

black screen after 13 months of moderate use... !!!AVOID!!!
Took a chance on this hdtv and regret the decision... people were reporting reliability issues with loss of picture. To be on the safe side, I purchased the set with a three year extended warranty from a local vendor.
You can now add my set to the list of failures with the screen failing to black after 13 months of modest use - just outside the Samsung 1 year warranty.
This will likely be my last Samsung. The picture quality was great while it lasted, but the demonstrated lack of reliability outweighs image quality.

samsung 32 inch flat screen
I was concerned about. Swivel feature is very nice and unexpected. It is the perfect size for my bedroom, and I'm glad to hear about the lower power feature for late night watching, as another reviewer mentioned. In general I couldn't be happier with this purchase. If you are thinking it over, my advice is go for it! There are lemons out there no matter what you do or where you shop, as I see has happened to some of the folks here, unfortunately. Will update my post in a couple of months hopefully with more great news! Let's just say, I'm keeping the box! Hey, you just never know). I just received this tv today so I have not had a chance to see or use all of the functions. So as far as a plug and play review, I have nothing bad to say about this set, and I think I am a harsh critic, personally. I did my research before buying and found this 32" set to be the clear winner. Amazon had the best price by far and shipment was faster than expected. This is my 2nd HD tv and this one is superior to the others, especially the sound quality, in my opinion, which is something

We have a ps3 connected to a samsung lcd tv via a HDMI cable. The sound settings are to HD but the sound keeps going off and on. Any ideas?Tried that Jaguar but the ps3 has to be on for the hdmi connection to be highlighted? Maybe it's a dodgy cable? Are HDMI cables that sensitive?Still playing up! Spoke to Samsung and they werent sure so I'll pop into a local Samsung repair centre to ask if they knew what it could be. Tv suppports 1080i nd HD sp I dont know what it is?Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

It could be that you have the settings set too high for the TV. Go to sound options and set them to the lowest (Stereo 44.1kHz) your TV should be able to play this.

Question : What should I do with my 32 inch Samsung LCD TV box?
Should I just put it out with the trash? What if one of the neighbors sees the box and thinks it is a nice TV and decides to break into all the apartments one by one until he finds it and steals it. Or am I being too paranoid?Should I take the box off and dispose of it myself? Should I sneak it out in the middle of the night so nobody sees me? What should I do?

If you live in a bad part of town... You have the right idea! I suggest folding it down carefully, cutting it up into squares, and just throwing it out. Or, if there's a dumpster nearby, like behind a store, just chuck it in there.

Question : Is there any way of connecting a Playstation 2 to a Samsung LCD TV via HDMI?
And if so, would the picture quality increase? Also can you suggest the best way to connect a playstation 2 to a LCD tv giving the best picture possible!
Answer:
About the best you can do with the PS2 is 480p (enhanced defenition) via a component cable (red, green ,blue) and at the same time the game itself must support 480p, God of war 2 for example. You will get a pretty good picture this way.
