Lovin' it for a whole year now...
I bought this TV a year ago (November 2007). I have yet to be over at somebody's house and think, "wow, that TV looks better than mine." And that's saying a lot, because I'm the guy that friends, neighbors and relatives ask for home theatre advice.
I bought Sharp on the advice of a master repairman who told me that Sharp has never delved into plasma TVs. All their research & development $$$ has been devoted to LCD. And he, a guy who repairs all manner of TV, projector & audio equipment, said Sharp is very easy to deal with regarding warranty issues and parts availablity.
The colors are sharp, the motion does not blur, and I haven't seen any banding. I have an upscaling DVD and it looks excellent, especially with a well-shot movie like "Children of Men". Still waiting for the perfect Blu-ray player to come out, but I have borrowed one and it looked noticeably better.
Only two small cons (not big enough to reduce this to a 4* review): 1) The DVI-I input only accepts up to a 1600x1200 analog resolution. This means if your laptop has a VGA output, like mine, and you set it to 1920x1080, the TV can't display it. However, using the same input's digital side, with my wife's laptop that has a DVI output, I can send the TV its native resolution with no problem. And wow, does that look crisp. 2) There is not a direct access button to any input. To switch inputs you have to scroll through them or select from a list. This makes it impossible to program a macro thoroughly on my receiver's universal remote.
All in all, I'd buy this one again. As a matter of fact, I am suggesting it to a relative who wants to move up from her rear-projection TV this month.

Good, but not impressive
I bought this TV on Jan. 22nd 2009 for, I believe, a very good price ($1600) The picture on this Sharp looks watery; one could see the pixels moving and not the actual object. It's hard to explain but I'm not that happy about my new TV. I went to a Best Buy store and watched few other brands and I realized this model I've got (LC52D92U) might not be one of the better ones. Spend a little more and get a Samsung or a Sony Bravia

Awesome for 18 months now
I thoroughly enjoy my tv for 18 months now. I have no issues such as banding at all. My set is hooked to an upconverting dvd player and a good high powered yamaha receiver with a 4 way jbl center speaker and a 350 watt jbl subwoofer with 2 infinity towers. I never even put on the tv speakers due to comments I read. I set the yamaha to simulate 7.1 channels (it is 7.1 capable but can simulate it with 5.1) and I am in movie nirvana. I paid 2800 or so plus 350 fedex shipping 18 months ago ( good deal on ebay) it is cheaper now if you do your homework. BE ADVISED: SHARP WARNED ME WARRANTEE DOES NOT COVER THE SCREEN GLASS AND UNTIL YOU POWER IT UP THERE MAY BE SPIDER CRACKS. Some internet places will not guarantee replacement if you do not make damage claim at the time of delivery and you cannot see spider cracks until you hook it up and turn it on. I did protect myself and was fortunate not to have any issues anyway. It was a major concern. I am totally thrilled with the setup. First rate A/V.

Awesome TV
I waited to write this review. It has been 9 months and THIS TV ROCKS. That sounds simplistic, but I don't know how else to convey how happy we are. The price on Amazon was amazing. It was our first purchase on Amazon so I was skeptical (of the price) but everything was great. The studios hate us because we haven't been to the movies since. Why bother? 52" and surround sound in your own home? LOVE FOOTBALL SEASON!

Great TV!
Like a lot of people, I was scared to order such a big expensive item online. Although I'm sure there are horror stories, mine was a great success.
The TV arrived quickly, undamaged, and in perfect condition. From what it looks like it came direct from the manufacturer.
The TV's Auto Contrast feature was a bit annoying to me (it's on by default), but it can be turned off. So if you're wondering why your colors keeps changing, it's the Auto Contrast feature.
Be aware that you might want to read the online sellers return policy. I didn't need to return the item, but I saw that I couldn't even if I'd wanted to. You have to go through the manufacturer warranty to have it repaired. If these types of limitations concern you, you may want to think about going through a retail store (and paying about twice as much).

Christmas Present for my daughter
The TV is very nice - I got it for my 18 year old daughter for Christmas. She uses it to play music channels and games on the XBox 360. The sound quality is ok, but becomes degraded when it's turned up louder.

My 2nd Sharp HDTV
I already had a 42" Sharp Aquos for my main tv at home, so when I saw this 22" incher going for $239 at the Navy Exhchange, it was no brainer...it is great for my office, and the picture is a serious upgrade from my sdtv 13" I had before.

Customer Review :
Buyer Beware!!!
Purchased a Sharp LC-26SH12U approx. one year ago. Couple months ago, I noticed the picture would turn black for no apparent reason. No picture, just sound. Short term fix is to turn TV off, leave off for few minutes, turn back on until it happens again. Happening more and more frequently now (every 30 minutes or so). I talked to an independent technician who diagnosed it as a bad back-light. $350 estimate for repair. Needless to say, I'm not going to to get it fixed. Thus, after one year, this unit will end up in the recycling bin. Looking for replacement now and I guarantee it won't be a Sharp!

Question : what is wrong with my TV? I have a Sharp LCD tv (LC-15SH7U) and it will not turn on.?
When I push the power button the red light turns on for 3 seconds and then turns off and the TV does not turn on. What is wrong with my TV?
Answer:
It is indicating a fault, and it is in the fault detection self-protection mode. If there is an internal fault or component defect, it would have to be professionally serviced. Is the set still under warranty? If so, contact Customer Service as instructed in the owner's manual to get warranty service. If it is not under warranty, try this procedure before taking it to be diagnosed/repaired. Note: This procedure sometimes works for some digital TVs to reset it to factory default settings if the TV's memory got "wiped" due to a power surge or fluctuation. It will not work if there is an internal fault, defect or component failure.1. Unplug the TV from AC power and leave it unplugged for at least 10 minutes.2. After that time, and before plugging it back in, press and hold the TV's main Power On/Off switch (button) for about 10 seconds. Release the power button.3. Plug the TV back in. Press the Power On/Off switch as you normally would to turn on the TV. If it powers up - great! If not, try pressing and holding the Power On/Off switch for about 10 seconds or until the TV powers up, whichever comes first.4. If it still will not power up, this indicates that there is an internal malfunction. It could be a blown fuse or power protection circuit, or a blown power filter/surge capacitor, or it could be worse. There's no way to really tell without troubleshooting the set to determine the cause of the fault condition.

Question : How do i add a digital antenna to a 46 inch sharp lcd tv?
How do i add a digital antenna to a 46 inch sharp lcd tv?
Answer:
(This answer assumes you are located in North America)You connect it just like a old analog antenna. That's because all TV antennas are digital antennas. On most DTVs there is only one antenna input for both analog and digital broadcasts. The idea that there are special "digital antennas" is just marketing BS.You just connect the antenna and go into the DTV's menu and have it scan for digital antenna channels. (Note: You have to have the DTV scan for digital channels, it probably will not find them automatically like it does analog channels.)

Question : is it economical to buy a 32 inch lets say sharp lcd tv from the middle east compared to buying it in india?
please let me know the price diffarence
Answer:
Yes of course it is economical to buy a 32 inch LCD TV from Middle east than buying from India even if officially u calculate the customs duty @ 37.5% on dutiable items after considering 25,000 INR duty free electronic items. So you can proceed to carry LCD TV along with you in India.just 2 days back I have come from india and compared the prices of LCD TV which is in india 10K to 15K higher price.I hope this will serve your purpose.Ishwar.M.G

Question : Why does my sharp lcd aquos tv black out the bottom half of the screen sometimes?
If I change the channel or hit one of the display buttons it returns to a normal full screen. It only started doing this in the last 2 day. I am wondering if it will get worse. I have only had the tv about one year.
Answer:
Black out, if the picture completely gone in the bottom area something wrong with the scanning process for the bottom area. But if it just get darken in the bottom area, the backlight for the bottom is fail to lead (small possibilities).

Question : Sharp LCD TV has hardly any sound. Why?
I just bought my first HDTV, a Sharp 26" LCD. I have the volume on full blast but it's barely audible 20 feet away. Is this because these new TV's are designed to be hooked up to a home system? I have a little shoot-ash portable TV that makes more noise.
Answer:
maybe the audio is not set right. set it to stereo.
