A great TV for me
I personally love this TV and the picture and sound that it gives. However I must state that the TV it was replacing probably should be in a museum. We have not as of yet upgraded to HD service and are still working on our usual cable service. love the picture which is a huge upgrade from what we had before. Personally the speakers are also great for me but again that is most likely because of where we started from before we got this TV. I love the fact that I am able to have both my DVD player and my Wii hooked up at the same time. The graphics when playing the Wii are great. The colours are crisp and bright. I would recommend that you change the colour settings to what you like as soon as you get it as it makes a huge difference. For the price I would say this was a great TV I am sure if you are worried about the specs etc then yes you could do better but you would also pay a lot more too.

Dead Pixel already
Just purchased this unit and have a blown pixel. I don't know if it came out of the box this way or if it just occured after 3 weeks of usage. In anycase, I looked this up on google and it seems to be a not so uncommon problem with some SHARP LCD's. I am a bit frustrated, but atleast the blown pixel is on the bottom right portion of the screen and not dead smack in the middle. I called SHARP customer service and was on hold for about ten minutes. The service rep was pleasant and responsive. She offered me a few options to fix my problem. We documented this problem and will request service if I see more dead pixels appear in the future. All in all, this television is good. Blow pixel seems to be the luck of the draw with LCDs. I also own a SAMSUNG 42inch plasma which I think is excellent.

Awesome HDTV.
This TV is my very first HDTV purchase, so to say my HD upgrade.
Sure, it isn't 1080p, but it gets up to 720p, which is, in my opinion, good enough for the money you'll spend on this TV. The menus are slick and simple to navigate and the inputs are all clearly marked. (Some of the inputs go in on the back, while others, like HDMI, plug into the side.)
To put it straight: If you are looking for a good intro or upgrade to HDTVs, then I'd really recommend this TV. It is perfect for a bedroom or for some living rooms. It is a sleek, good looking TV and is well worth the money spent on it.

"B+" LCD HDTV
I also have a Sharp 20 inch LCD HDTV (non-Aquos) which I have enjoyed for 6 months. I would give it an A-. The 20 inch was purchased to replace a 20 inch Sony Trinitron (analog tube TV). I really needed a bigger screen since I typically sit about 8-9 feet away from the screen. This new 32 inch LCD HDTV is just right. However, it seems to be MUCH darker than the 20 inch Sharp. I had to adjust the settings to get the screen where I wanted it. Now I feel the picture is just shy of a Samsung or Sony, but the Sharp price combined with the internal HDTV and QAM tuner pushed me to the Sharp. It is easy to use and the stand is quite strong (no wobbling). Overall I am very happy with my Sharp TVs.

Great TV, Beautiful Picture--Got mine at Costco, sorry Amazon
Unfortunately Amazon doesn't offer this TV at this time so I got mine at Costco for $3500, I am amazed at the quality with the Blu-Ray and my HD Directv DVR. Almost bought the 73" Toshiba DLP but looking back I am glad i didn't. Movies and Video games have never looked so good.

awsome tv
This TV is beond words after reading the other three review's I decided i'd try it noing amazon would take it back. Well the tv is on my wall and it's not going back. This TV is great and you could never beat the price or the extended coverage on it. I looked at Another store for a 58 inch that was running $5800.00 with extended coverage running $1000.00. To find a 65 inch for $3990.00 is greast if you have the room i set about twelve feet and even outside on my deck and watch the race and the Olympic's. best purchaes ever the Sharp 65d93u is out of this world. A+

outstanding TV, well worth the investment
First let's get the one big negative out of the way: If you use HMDI inputs, the tv will NOT output sound from the optical digital out, period. This means I have to buy a new receiver with more inputs so I can route all my components directly to my home theater speakers, rather than just using the tv's inputs, a major inconvenience. The Samsung 63" plasma I tried has a similar issue, so do your homework (I returned that for other reasons). The tv's own speakers are mediocre at best. That said, the picture quality is amazing. The biggest thing to keep in mind is that the source makes or breaks the image you get. SD programming depends on the channel and quality of the original image. Shows that were originally recorded in SD are going to be a bit grainy no matter which HDTV you buy. I have seen baseball, football and basketball on HD channels and the picture is clear and crisp, with no issues of pixelization when images move fast. On the other hand, watching wrestling does have that problem on certain channels. Again, the source determines the quality. Just remember, not everything on HD channels was FILMED in HD. In fact except for sports most programs on cable HD were filmed in SD and are being upconverted, which will never give the same quality (there is some silk screen effect and slight pixelization with fast movement but nothing bad). My upconverting DVD player makes my regular dvd's look just as good as they did on my Sony 35" CRT display. PS3 games are so clear and bright it's like I upgraded to a PS4, my jaw just dropped. But far and away the most stunning visuals came from watching Planet Earth on Blu-Ray. I didn't know such image quality could exist. I also watched Resident Evil Apocalypse on Blu-Ray, and everything was perfect: no grit, no blockiness during fast scenes or explosions. You can have sidebars when the source is 4:3 format, or you can have it stretch the image to fill the screen. While the feature is standard this model does it without the images LOOKING stretched. No fat heads or other such problems, everything just looks natural. There are no banding issues, with brightness always looking even. I've had the tv for over 2 weeks and don't have one bad thing to say about it. I was paranoid about having buyer's remorse when choosing a set this expensive and even with a very critical eye I can't find any problems. I got it from Amazon directly for $4K (must have been their last one because they don't offer it now) so I can only say Amazon was great as always and I know by experience they have the best customer service, bar none. When I returned the defective Samsung 63" Plasma I bought early this year they went out of their way to accomodate me, so buy with absolute confidence. Just know that other vendors who sell here have their own return policies and Amazon can't help you if you go that route. Sorry to write a short novel but I want to give as much info as possible. I will check the comments section for a while if you have any questions and answer ASAP.

New meaning to Home Theatre in an LCD TV
Great TV. A bit heavy, but less than one would think for its size. Mine is wall mounted on a 200lb rated mount so I have plenty of leeway. Bought the TV from amazon and it was delivered by a company called CEVA. First one came with a shattered LCD, but a replacement was soon shipped after refusing the first one. Second one came completely in tact. Very happy with the purchase, though I never would have thought I'd own a TV that cost 4x what I paid for my first car!!! Then again, I never thought I'd be paying as much for gas as I do milk, either. Guess that's life for you!!

Superior TV
The TV is superior to any other 60''+ tv i reviewed. The picture is flawless and leave your guests speechless when they watch their first HD football game! It comes with 3 HDMI connections, more than its competitors. Set up was EASY. MY only complaint was that the factory presets for color/brightness were poor. This was easily fixed by getting settings online. Although I received this TV from Amazon in a timely manner, it was extremely difficult contacting a live person at Amazon to address shipping and delivery concerns. After 2 days of emails and aggravation I was able to obtain the Amazon phone number. The price was excellent, although I see the price has increased significantly from when I purchased it in June 08.

Great LCD tv
Very happy with this purchase. Got it from Amazon for 850.00 shipped no tax, so cant complain about that! 5 hdmi inputs plus pc inputs makes this a very scaleable tv. People complain about pixels up close. Yes you will see some blocks up close (1 or 2 feet away) but from my sitting distance of 8 - 14 feet, the screen is crystal clear. HD looks amazing of course. Xbox360 in 1080 is fantastic. Speakers are garbage though, but you should expect that on any LCD or Plasma, unless you are dropping 1500.00 +. A word about LCD vs. Plasma. There are valid arguments for and against both technologies. For me it came down to 1 simple thing. Plasma generates heat, and heat and electronics dont mix!

Sharp Aquos LC42D62U panel problem
My Sharp Aquos LC42D62U encountered an LCD panel problem in only it's 3rd year of use. I purchased the product from PC Richard. I also purchased an extended 3 year warranty from PC Richard. When I encountered the problem, I had already moved outside PC Richard's service area so they refunded my money. Had I purchased a warranty direct from Sharp, maybe they would have covered the problem. I was not given the option of purchasing the warranty direct from Sharp by PC Richard so Sharp is not willing to accept the cost of the PC Richard warranty to correct the problem. They are only offering pro-rated cost to replace the TV. My next TV will not be a Sharp. So I guess the message here is buy the extended warranty direct if you can, and the product and service is likely to be better from Samsung, Panasonic, Sony, etc.

Fantastic TV - Great Image and Quality
We got this earlier this year, and have been very pleased with it! It has clear picture and is great to watch. We don't really use the volume on it as we have a speaker system, the sound is ok though without it. Amazon even set it up in my living room for me with the white glove delivery. One thing to note, if you turn on the light auto adujst it may interfere with your cable remote operation. We had swapped out 3 cable boxes to realize it was a setting on the TV that was sending out a signal that made the remote not work.

Terrible Warranty Specifications
STAY AWAY. I bought this unit from Costco. In my day I have owned Sony, Mitsubishi, Samsung and Toshiba televisions. This is my first (and last) Sharp television. Right out of the box the unit had a burned out pixel. After contacting Sharp they required a myriad of pictures to prove it (5-6 pictures, I am surprised that 1-2 pictures isn't enough). They also said that they would get back in touch with me in 36-48 hours; it took them a week after multiple emails. They emailed me back saying how this was "within our specifications". How does a burned out pixel qualify as within someones specifications on a high definition TV? Obviously thy have a standard well below mine. They refuse to act on the TV.
Other matters - the remote is underpowered; the set-up doesn't allow for in dependent selection of digital vs. analog channel screening; not favorites on remote; no multiple component operational capability.
I have multiple Samsung televisions. Their quality control has been unpeccable. I owned a Toshiba TV that has lasted nearly 10 years without any issues. Multiple Sony televisions in my arsenal have also been great picture, features and reliable. Even a 42" Westinghouse TV has operated flawless for many years. In this competitive market we have many choices and I will definitely exercise them in the future.

i have got a sharp LCD TV and my channels wont work because it always says database empty :S when i try the auto installation it just says carrier not found. can anyone help me please.....thanksof course i meant can anyone help me get my channels backis there anyway i can restart my freeview or sumart?. my freeview is built into the tvit was already working at the start and all of a sudden its gone like this. i havent changed anything
Answer:
Your TV is telling you that it is not detecting a signal, try putting the aerial directly into the TV after making sure that the wiring inside of the aerial plug is ok that the outer copper braid is not touching the centre wire, and re-tune again, If that works check out the VCR or DVD recorders as they may not be passing the signal. If it does not work, check out the aerial by trying say a portable TV on your aerial, a snowy picture will confirm your aerial is faulty

Question : Getting the best image on a Sharp Aquos LCD TV?
i just got me a 42" Sharp Aquos LCD TV...and, i have problems with the colors, on the brightness...i just can't seem to get a great quality picture. im trying to watch the NBA Playoffs, and the players look a little foggy, like when the camara zooms out, i can see the players numbres, but foggy, the court looks dark...what mistakes im making?? can you help me figure this out?
Answer:
You don't tell us what is the source: cable, off-the-air, satellite?SD or HD?Foggy video is usually a symptom of watching SD , analog cable, on a big TV. You will get the best quality with an HD signal or at minimum digital SD (digital cable or sat). You can certainly buy a DVD calibration disc (or try to find a DVD with the free THX Optimizer). Video Essentials is a good one and the ISF/Monster is also good. Then copy those settings for your TV port. (each port in an HDTV can have its own setup).

Question : sharp tv LCD screen help?

Answer:
Read the INSTRUCTION BOOK from beginning to end to become "acquainted" with your TV set....It'll be faster and better than "guessing" what is wrong here.....Yep, my first SONY back in the 80's was soooo complicated, that I spent 6 HOURS guessing why I couldn't get a picture.....THEN I spent ONE HOUR reading the setup part of the manual and it was FULLY Functional......Sheesh, why didn't I do that in the FIRST PLACE ?!!So, read your manual.....Fix it right the first time....

Question : Why does my sharp lcd aquos tv black out the bottom half of the screen sometimes?
If I change the channel or hit one of the display buttons it returns to a normal full screen. It only started doing this in the last 2 day. I am wondering if it will get worse. I have only had the tv about one year.
Answer:
Black out, if the picture completely gone in the bottom area something wrong with the scanning process for the bottom area. But if it just get darken in the bottom area, the backlight for the bottom is fail to lead (small possibilities).

Question : Sharp Aquos LCD TV: Can I do anything about the delay when switching channels?
I bought a Sharp LC-32D40U. When I switch channels it takes 2-3 seconds before the image appears. Quite annoying. Is there anything I can do about that? Are there any LCD TV's which have a better performance?
Answer:
Yeah alot of the newer TVs have Very sensitive tuners. So what happens is the TVs are thinking and deciding what format to display it best. Some TVs are better, such as the Sony Xbr series LCDs and also the new Samsung like the LNS3251D.

Question : is it economical to buy a 32 inch lets say sharp lcd tv from the middle east compared to buying it in india?
please let me know the price diffarence
Answer:
Yes of course it is economical to buy a 32 inch LCD TV from Middle east than buying from India even if officially u calculate the customs duty @ 37.5% on dutiable items after considering 25,000 INR duty free electronic items. So you can proceed to carry LCD TV along with you in India.just 2 days back I have come from india and compared the prices of LCD TV which is in india 10K to 15K higher price.I hope this will serve your purpose.Ishwar.M.G
