Worst TV mistake I made
Have had this set for about two years. The sound quality is horrible. I have to turn it up to the highest level most of the time and still can't hear everything especially if there is any thing else going on. What's the point of having the TV if you can't hear it while you are on an exercise machine or my son is playing on the floor.
Now, the picture turns off for no reason. The screen just goes black like you have turned it off. Not gray, black. Sometimes, it returns to normal after you switch the TV off and on about five times. The sound still stays on though. It drives my 3-year old son crazy especially if he is watching his favorite show.
Whatever you do, spend your money on something else. This TV is not worth the headache. Now if I can just remember if I had gotten the extended warranty.

What Audio Problem?
I bought this set to hang on the kitchen wall. The convenience of a combined DVD was a major factor in the purchase decision. I'd read the reports criticizing the audio but decided to take a chance and buy it anyway - and I'm glad I did. The audio seems OK to me. Half-volume at 13' away across the other side of the kitchen is more than adequate. Audio quality is also fine. Anywhere near full volume is way too loud. I really don't know what the complaints are about - volume? audio quality? or both? The picture quality is also superb as is often the case with Sharp and the DVD is so user-friendly it's a pleasure to use.

Major defect on this model
After six months of ownership, this TV began turning itself on randomly. The main circuit board was replaced. The TV still turns itself on. (However, the sound is now improved significantly!) We expect to have the TV replaced. No one seems to know why it turns itself on. The circuit board took four months to be delivered after the initial complaint. We were told the part was backordered. Maybe our complaint is a common one?

Big dissappointment!
This review is not for this model exactly but the LC-26AD22U which is the equivalent (I think) in the Aquos line. This is my seventh flat screen (LCD or plasma) that I have purchased and the 3 stars are for the picture quality, I took off 2 stars for the poor audio quality. After reading other reviews- I thought - that others might be asking too much from the audio section of a TV that for most it was not going to be the main TV (I bought it for my daughter's room), How bad could it be? .. well, this HDTV has (so far) the worst audio section of any TV I have owned (I have/had Samsung, Hitachi, Sylvania, Dynex, Westinghouse) It is incredible low, thin and "flat" sounding (words of my daughter and spouse). So my advice to others is that if you don't care about the audio quality because you will hook it to an audio system then go for it but if this is a stand alone HDTV and you want a good sounding one then you better skip the brand completely (and least in this size) and check others. I sincerely don't recommend it and I am going to return this one. Thanks for your attention.

Cheap, easy sound workaround; Sharp LC-26DV22U
Sharp LC26DV22U 26-inch LCD TV with Built-In DVD Player I too was disgusted with the poor quality/quantity of sound from my new Sharp LC26DV22U TV. So, I pulled the back cover off the set and installed a female 1/8 inch stereo phone jack (Radio Shack part number; 274-0246). I wired it directly to the TV's speakers using bell-wire (from an old telephone cord). Then simply plugged in a PC sound system I had laying around. It works wonderfully and it was easy to do. Just use the wire diagram on the phone jack package and connect to the marked terminals on each speaker of the set. I didn't disconnect the set's speakers, so the TV will still work with or without the PC speaker system plugged in.

Sharp LC-C46700UN combines its legendary AQUOS LCD panel technology with a newly developed, proprietary Full Array LED backlight system to create picture quality that is second to none. The LC-C46700UN again illustrates Sharp's LCD technology leadership while also demonstrating its LED engineering advantages.Sharp's UltraBrilliant LED System illuminates the TV to extremely high brightness and contrast levels and enables significant environmental benefits such as a longer life expectancy, no heavy metals and lower power consumption. At the same time, the new X-Gen LCD Panel utilizes an ingeniously devised pixel design that permits more light to pass through even while minimizing light leakage, with the result being the deepest black levels that AQUOS has ever achieved. Overall, the LC-C46700UN shows that with Sharp, it's not just LED, it's AQUOS LED.

Now THIS is a picture!
Have had this for about a month - wanted to wait to see if there were any downfalls before reporting back. The picture, oh what a picture!!! We found ourselves watching things we don't usually watch just to see the clarity. Golf for instance (I hate golf), it's like standing 15ft behind the golfer with a plate of glass between us. BTW we have an antenna, if you cable people want to see true uncompressed 1080 HDTV like it was intended, get an antenna.
I've seen complaints that it's a 10 second wait after turning it on? Really now, to those people I say "get a life". The fact that it uses something like a 10th of a watt while it's off comforts the cheapskate in me. BTW, LED lit screens are actually cool to the touch - I know that heat and electronics don't get along... this has to extend the life of this TV. Sharp gives the LED's a 100,000 hr life - hope you get the one you want cuz thats 45 yrs at 6 hours of viewing time a day!
Movement shows like sports have no ghosting, shadows or trails. The remote is a good size meaning not too big and makes sense.
My only complaint is related to antenna service. I would take one star away if any other TV had a better viewers guide (EPG) than this Sharp (they don't). Regardless of price, all HDTV's have a dismal record in this one area. The FCC requires an EPG to be broadcast, seen in all the digital to analog boxes that everyone bot for the digital conversion. Unfortunately they don't require the manufacturer to show it. Could this be a cable company conspiracy? Signed, Elvis.

Customer Review :
Amazing quality and perfect size
I bought this unit because I wanted a television that would give me a home theater experience without converting my basement family room into a media room. It's the perfect size for that...large enough to view movies and play video games with astonishing definition and theater presence without overwhelming the room. I'm amazed myself I'm saying a 65 inch television doesn't dominate the room but that's how far we've come in the last 10 years regarding what we expect from a television experience. I don't know anything about refresh rates or response times...I have a plasma..a 47 inch in our bedroom and the picture quality is no different. The only complaint I have regarding the change from a plasma to an LCD is that at angles to the viewing screen, some definition is lost with the LCD. Other than that, I am completely satisfied.

Review of purchase of Sharp TV from CSBUS via Amazon.com
I purchased a Sharp 65" LCD TV via Amazon.com from the seller CSBUS in December 2009. The TV performs well and I would recommend it to others who want a TV this size and price. However I have problems with the seller. When the TV was delivered, I realized that it was not new as promised and that it had a couple of cosmetic defects. I called the seller CSBUS and they told me that the TV was purchased as part of a bulk buy by a large organization, but it was never actually used. However, in the process, the base was damaged. They offered to find a replacement base and send it to me, but they never did. When I asked why the warranty page in the manual had a stamp on it that said the warranty wasn't valid, they told me not to worry about it, that the warranty was valid. I admit that I got very busy during the holidays and didn't follow up to get the warranty issue resolved. Now I am asking Amazon.com to discuss this on my behalf with the seller CSBUS and make good on the warranty that comes with new Sharp TVs, which I thought I was buying.
Thank You,

What a great TV!
I got a great deal on this TV! I was hoping it would go on sale again here on Amazon but it has been unavailable for awhile now, but I happened to be shopping over the weekend, and saw this TV as a "Open Box Deal" that had been a floor model. I paid $1,599 for it, and bought a extra 3 year warranty for $400. I would be currious if anyone else got it any cheaper that that! thats about the same price I bought my 46" LCD in my bedroom awhile back.
I have not seen any banding issues or dead pixels, and I am using settings that someone posted on AVS forum, and it looks allot better than I was able to get it. If anyone is interested I can post those settings here.

INCREDIBLE PICTURE !
I recently purchased this television for my restaurant and have recieved rave reviews from all of our patrons. The picture quality is the very best for a 65 inch LCD. This Sharp Aquos television deserves a solid 5 star rating. Great for watching sports!

purchased 4 of these monitors for work. The set up menus are a little funky but are the same as all of the other sharp LCD's in the same class of monitor. Very good picture quality for the money.

Great picture, even better price!!!
I have a living room with 15 windows in it. During daylight hours I have zero glare on the TV! I didn't think it would be possible. The speakers on the TV are very bad, so I run the sound through a surround sound system and I turn the volume all the way down on the TV. I ordered the TV on a Saturday and by that Friday it was in my living room ready for me to set up. Very...very easy to set up. Great TV, great price.

Excellent Value for the price
I've had this TV for a little more than a year, it does everything well - can't get a much better value for the price.
Pros - Everything except for the speakers
Cons - None, you should expect to hook up a TV like this to a Surround Sound System
Rating :
A great value
This TV is a great value. Quality at a reasonable price. The sound could be better but hooked to a good home theater system it is great.

Sharp 52"
For bang for the Dollar, this TV is a great deal. The picture quality is really good. The sound isn't that great at all, but when you hook it up to surround sounds, it works great. I haven't played too much with the features, but it seems to have the basics.

AQUOS blinking power light
I received my new TV and turn it on, and after about 15 seconds it shut down. It did this 2-3 times again. The power light blinked about once per second. After looking on the internet, I found the factory reset--unplug the TV, press and hold the channel down and volume up buttons while plugging the TV back in. After, that it turned on and stayed on, so (fingers crossed) it will continue to work.
UPDATE: still powering off. Sending it back.
It is a nice TV. I will leave the picture review, etc. to the previous posts. I also have the 40 inch AQUOS model for another room, and it has the same basic connections and setup.

If I change the channel or hit one of the display buttons it returns to a normal full screen. It only started doing this in the last 2 day. I am wondering if it will get worse. I have only had the tv about one year.

Black out, if the picture completely gone in the bottom area something wrong with the scanning process for the bottom area. But if it just get darken in the bottom area, the backlight for the bottom is fail to lead (small possibilities).

Question : Do you see different brightness bands on your Sharp Aquos LCD TV?
I am reading reports of "banding" on Sharp Aquos LCD TVs. I want to know if any of you noticed it on your TV.
Answer:
Many people have found "banding" on Sharp Aquos TVs. It has been a topic of discussion on the AVS forum for some time, but it has died down. Apparently some sets are ok, but many are not. If you can look at the TV before it is delivered, you can check for banding by looking at picture with large uniform areas of a light blue color. If you can see it, ask for another set. If you can get a set without banding, reports are that this set has the best HD picture around.Seehttp://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?p=10506896#post10506896andhttp://www.avsforu m.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?p=10400759#post10400759Don't try to read all, but scan through some of the later comments to see what some people have found.

Question : Sharp LCD TV has hardly any sound. Why?
I just bought my first HDTV, a Sharp 26" LCD. I have the volume on full blast but it's barely audible 20 feet away. Is this because these new TV's are designed to be hooked up to a home system? I have a little shoot-ash portable TV that makes more noise.

maybe the audio is not set right. set it to stereo.

Question : Sharp Aquos LCD TV: Can I do anything about the delay when switching channels?
I bought a Sharp LC-32D40U. When I switch channels it takes 2-3 seconds before the image appears. Quite annoying. Is there anything I can do about that? Are there any LCD TV's which have a better performance?

Yeah alot of the newer TVs have Very sensitive tuners. So what happens is the TVs are thinking and deciding what format to display it best. Some TVs are better, such as the Sony Xbr series LCDs and also the new Samsung like the LNS3251D.
