Customer Review :
THIS TV DOES NOT WORK IN ANY SYSTEM!!!
I both this tv last year and have just installed at home, in Brazil. For my surprise, I got only black and white colors. I found out that the propaganda does not consider the Brazilian system PAL - M when it says that it would work in any system. Now, I hope I will get support from the store or Sony on finding a solution to my problem.

If your set is rented and I had the repair call on. it would be debriefed as sco (service change over recommended) and on to next job. Sucking air through teeth ,Sorry sounds like a workshop job. Flashing led's not usually a quick job. Try where you bought it from. Best of luck

Question : LED vs LCD sony TV advice needed for purchase?
I am Looking to buy and really good TV that has good SD quality and 1080p i have seen 2 the first one is Samsung UE40B8000 40" Full HD LCD TV and the 2nd is Sony KDL40Z5500 SNY KDL40Z5500 i not sure which is better for long lasting and quality?can anyone please give advice?
Answer:
An "LED TV" *is* an LCD TV, just with LEDs for the backlight instead of fluorescents. ( No, there are no "pure LED" TVs - i.e. direct view of the LEDs - unless you're talking about the giant outdoor displays like the ones on the Las Vegas Strip. )You can prove this easily. Go up to an "LED" TV in the store and push on the screen with your finger. You'll find the image will "ripple" out from the pressure just as it does on any other LCD TV. The picture is no more "clear" than any other LCD - you're still looking at an LCD, after all. Nor is there a difference in maximum size - this again is determined by "how big can we make the LCD panel", not by the backlight. If anything, fluorescent-backlight LCDs will remain at the large sizes because LED backlights are more espensive, and the cost difference goes up as the size increases. An LED LCD TV will be thinner than conventional LCD, because the LEDs don't need as much in the way of diffusion. It will produce less heat. It MAY give better colors, but LCD's color issues are in general not caused by backlight issues. An LED LCD TV that uses backlight dimming can do better at shadow detail than a fluorescent backlight without, and an LED LCD that uses selective dimming can do even better (and this can't be done at all with fluorescent), but this tech is not in all LED LCD TVs. LED backlighting does not help with LCD's view angle issues, nor with motion ghosting. LED-LCD will probably last longer than conventional LCD, partly because the set will run cooler, and partly because the backlight inverter in an LCD is a very trouble-prone component - on the other hand it is a cheap and easy repair.

Question : How do I hook up my Dell Laptop to my Sony LCD TV?
I have a dell laptop and I would like to hook it up to my larger LCD TV, I think I need the blue cord thing that goes from my laptop to the tv for the screen (what is this thing called?) and how do I get sound to go from my laptop to go through my tv speakers? Thanks In Advanced!!
Answer:
There are many ways to hook your Laptop to a TV. First, you need to make sure your TV has the same and correct input and the laptop the correct/same output.1. S-Video - This is probably the most common method out there currently because an S-Video cable is cheap as heck and just about every TV under the sun has a S-Video port. You’ll have to make sure you laptop is equipped with this port. Remember, there are two types of S-Video cables: 4-pin and 7-pin. Most laptops and PC’s are equipped with a 7-pin port, so if your TV only has a 4-pin S-Video port, then this method will not work.2. VGA - If you have a HDTV, then you will be better off connecting using a VGA cable. It gives much better quality than S-Video and as with S-Video, the cable is very cheap. You usually won’t find a VGA port on regular TV’s though, so this option is if you have an HDTV.3. DVI - DVI stands for Digital Visual Interface with “digital” being the key word there. The digital signal will give a higher quality picture than either S-Video or VGA. Of course, your computer will need to have a DVI connection and your TV will need to be an HDTV. This cord is definitely not cheap, it ranges anywhere from $40 to $80.4. HDMI - Using HDMI will give you the best quality by far. No computers that I know of yet have HDMI ports, but you can get a DVI to HDMI cable to connect it to your HDTV. HDMI is compatible with DVI.5. Scan Converter Box - This is the last method that I could think of and it involves using a scan converter box, which takes a VGA signal and converts it into S-Video or component video.Direct quote from - http://www.online-tech-tips.com/computer-tips/how-to-connect-your-laptoppccomputer-to-your-tv/

Question : How do I connect a HDMI device to my Sony Bravia LCD TV ?
What TV settings do I need to change to get my HDMI device to be viewed on my LCD TV.
Answer:
Change your input. Usually TVs have several inputs and thus you have to press a button on your remote to scan through each one.

Question : I just got a Sony Bravia LCD TV, i wanta get surround sound for it, which is the best one?
i got SONY bravia LCD TV, i wanta set up a surround sound system, maybe i should get wireless speakers so i can put them in all sides of the room? whats the best company? and what set should i get?
Answer:
There is no "best one". You really need to research specs and prices and then evaluate yourself on the basis of listening with your own ears. Whatever anybody tells you is the best will be immediately countered by somebody else's opinion......

Question : What are optimal audio settings for a Sony LCD TV?
What are the best audio settings you can get with a Sony LCD TV with its built-in speakers? Specifically, a Sony KDL-32L4000, it gave me sound modes; Dynamic, Standard, and Clear Voice but I can't tell the difference and all I can adjust are the Treble and Bass. I can't put a surround sound system because there's not enough space for one. Any help?
Answer:
Effects you should be experiencing:Dynamic - greater difference between the quiet & loud sounds.Standard - normal volume range or slightly compressed between the quiet & loud sounds.Clear Voice - Bass and treble cut so that voice isn't too boomy or shrill.

I have a couple years old sony bravia LCD tv when i plug it in to regular cable i can't get the all regular cable channels like espn, and discovery although i get some hd channels. If i plug in a non flat screen or a different flat it works like a charm. Also i my number for the channels are like 22.2 instead of just 22. Any help would be most appreciated .
Answer:
I think you can do a auto search for channels they all will come easily.

Question : New sony LCD tv automatically dims when a dark scene is shown?
When a visually dark part of a movie is shown, the television dims, making it hard to see the scene. How can I fix this? The model number is KDL46v5100. Thanks! When I mean dims, I mean the backlight brightness decreases, as if less power were sent to the backlight.
Answer:
It is considered a FEATURE to give you better blacks, but it could be annoying. It is called dynamic contrast or something similar. Check the User manual or the menu options if you can disable it.

Question : how to play blu-ray dvd on sony vgnfz21m laptop thru hdmi cable to sony lcd tv hd ready?
Is it possible to overcome the block that sony have put on preventing the export of the blu-ray display from the computer. I assume they have done this to maximise sales of blu-ray players. I do not have any problem using the tv as a second monitor, it just won't take the blu-ray signal. I would be very grateful for any help with this.
Answer:
Your question doesn't make much sense. If your computer is connected to your LCD via HDMI cable then you should be good. Just extend your desktop to the second monitor. Drag Windows Media Player over to the second monitor and hit play. Anything displayed on your laptop can be moved to your second monitor.
