BRAVIA HDTVs represent outstanding performance from the top of the line right down to where it all starts - M-Series. M-Series HDTVs have just the right amount of features, style and performance to make them a great entry level choice. It starts with the 16:9 high definition LCD display panel including a fast panel response time and excellent 178? wide viewing angles. The 3D comb filter reduces dot crawl and color imperfections for fine picture detail. The right connections are to enable connection of the latest video sources. And then there's that famous BRAVIA style. A rich-looking space saving black cabinet wraps around the bottom mounted speakers and is accented by silver trim and mounted to the included silver pedestal. Now just about anyone can afford a BRAVIA HDTV!Designed for maximum versatility, Sony's BRAVIA M-Series Digital LCD TV line is equipped with a comprehensive range of input interfaces. The HDMI (High-Definition Multimedia Interface) is the first industry-supported, uncompressed, all-digital audio / video interface. HDMI technology supports enhanced or High Definition video, together with multi-channel digital audio to provide matchless image and sound reproduction. The HDMI and PC inputs offer easy connection to your PC, allowing you to use your high resolution BRAVIA M-Series Digital TV as a computer monitor.

Don't waste your money!
If you're looking for a flat-panel TV, go ahead and spend a few extra bucks and buy a different one. I've had problems with this one since day 1, and Sony is of no help.
The HDMI inputs on the television ended up getting blocked. Sony says this is a copyright issue, but I was unable to hook up my cable box to the TV using this. Then it started to happen while playing my Playstation. Minor thing I know, but it's annoying. So I had to use component cables for everything, which does lessen the quality of the picture a bit.
Less than a year after purchasing the TV the picture started to lag. It was almost as if you were watching everything in Slow Motion. Another phone call to Sony. The techs told me everytime that happens to just power down, wait a few minutes, then power back up. It seemed to work, I thought it was just another glitch.
A week ago the picture went out completely. Now I'm just outside the warranty and I'm being told it's going to cost over $800 to fix. That's more than I paid for the TV to begin with!!
Long story short, buy another brand. Sony just isn't worth the headache.

disappointed
I purchased this television six months ago. I do not have cable and use an antenna. This tv has a sturdy frame and a very clear picture as well as first rate sound quality for a small screen television; however, on at least one of the major networks this television loses sound and sometimes picture roughly every twenty minutes. I have to move the antenna and/or turn the set off and back on to restore normal broadcast. I have moved this set to different locations and even watched it at a friend's house to rule out the possibility of interference. Nothing has helped. I spoke to a repairman and he says that there's probably a problem with the tuning mechanism and that I'm most likely stuck with a lemon. I bought a Sony thinking that I would get quality. I was wrong. Foolishly perhaps, I just purchased another Sony. This time a 22-inch Bravia L-series. So far, so good. No problems.

Good reliable TV. I mounted this TV in my motorhome although the instructions from Sony state that the TV should not be installed in a moving vehicle. I mounted it to a wall mount and it works just fine. Good sound and picture. The only drawback is that I move my motorhome often and the TV autotune takes up to 50 minutes to do an Autosearch to reset available channels in the area. My old set took only about 5 minutes. Otherwise we love the set and would recommend it.

Not a bad TV....
I got this TV to do two jobs. First was to act as separate computer monitor and as a second TV. The SONY does both jobs very well.

SONY like no other!
This TV is great I love this Sony Bravia, I just wish that the speakers were on the front instead of the bottom, but for this price.... its worth it

Color of TV
When purchasing this TV - no matter what the color of the television says in the description (ex. black, silver, or any other color) - that color will only be on the face of the TV, and the rest of it will be white. If you are aware of this, then you will not be shocked or disappointed when you unpack it. This is an example of a very poor description of a TV. The TV itself is fine.

great tv
I debated over buying another model, but this one is really worth the extra cost. The delivery service was poor. They had the wrong number and only after a couple of phone calls on my part did they set up a delivery date

The Television has a wonderful picture and is very attractive. Visitors to my home ALWAYS comment on how clear the picture is.

Be smart consumer Sony still king
This TV is perfect for the person who doesn't spend tons of money or time on their movie/tv/gaming lives. If you want top shelf pic you will have to pay out at least $2000. But for me, a mid level gamer-movie watcher-sports fan-this TV is awesome. Many people don't know you need HD service to appreciate the quality. Many people don't know about component cords and proper surround sound setup. I enjoy this TV for its quality and price, I am just an average person who won't belly up and spend $2000 on a tv so for 700 it is perfect, with a brand that has been in the business for decades.

Picure fine, audio heavy.
Have this TV about a year. The picture is beautiful but the audio is too bassy. This is especially evident when watching movies. Have adjusted the audio every way possible and the treble is not as responsive as a four year old Sony that I have. Other HDTV TVs that my friends own have a much sharper audio quality.

Incredible at a great price point....
This Sony TV lives up to all of the industry and Amazon reviews. It is very attractive with any decor, easy to set up and can truly be viewed from almost any angle with excellent picture quality. I would say it is ideal for a viewing distance of up to about 12-15 feet. If you are going to view it at more than this distance, I would get a larger one.
I didn't have any problems with ordering, shipping, etc. The only negative I have to say is that the remote is not very rugged, which is surprising given the high ticket price. Couldn't they put a few extra dollars and give people a nice remote.
You definitely will not be disappointed with this TV for sporting events, correct rendering of flesh tones and adjusting to brightness within a room. Compared to other HDTVs without all of these useful (sometimes essential) features, it's not an apples to apples comparison. If you get one of the less expensive types, the color changes when viewed from an angle, the brightness isn't quite right, etc. Spend the extra money and get something decent, a TV is generally something you will use for a long time.

Questions & Answers
Question : how do i use 32" sony bravia lcd tv as my computer monitor?
Hi...i wanna get the 32" sony bravia lcd tv to use as monitor for my computer. What cables do i need to buy for that? Is the quality gonna be as same as using the regular computer monitors? Or is everything going to be pixelated? Can i watch videos from youtuves in fullscreen wihout compromising the quality? Any help would be greatly appreciated..thanks!
Answer:
Keep in mind most YouTube videos look pixilated even on regular small computer monitors. If the quality of the video is bad to begin with, it won't look good on an HDTV either.Anyway, the 32" Bravia LCD does make a nice computer monitor. As Rodger says, use a DVI-to-HDMI cable to connect your computer to it if your computer has DVI ports.I'm using my computer on a 52" Bravia LCD HDTV myself. The DVI-to-HDMI cable works very nicely in my setup.

Question : I have a 32 inch sony lcd tv, would a blu-ray be good for this size screen?
I want to get a blu ray player, but my tv is only 32 inches, its a lcd sony, would this be a good tv with a blu ray player? Its a 720p tv
Answer:
The question I have for you is, what is the resolution of the TV? 32 inches is a pretty good sized TV, and if the TV was capable of a high resolution (1080p would be the ideal) then Blu-Ray would look very nice on it. Another thing to think of is, what kind of audio system you have, since Blu-Ray has some incredible audio. If you have a nice surround-sound system, and a TV with a good resolution, then I think it would be well worth it. I have a 42" tv with Blu-ray and I absolutly love it, will never buy a standard DVD again.Just read that it is a 720p...at that resolution, it will certainly be nice, just not as nice as the 1080p. keep in mind, when you see a Blu-Ray display at a store, they are using a top of the line TV at 1080p. I would suggest that if you truly want to buy one, go to a retailer who has a forgiving return policy....buy it, try it, and if you aren't completly happy with it, return it. Also, keep in mind some scientists believe that we can't truly see the difference between 720p and 1080p. Hope this helps...good luck and if you buy it...enjoy!!!

Question : Why does the screen on my Sony LCD rear projection TV flicker?
Sometimes the screen on my Sony LCD rear projection TV will flicker. It won't go off or anything and it's mostly around the edges but it's pretty annoying. We called Sony and I don't think they knew what they were talking about. They said something about leaving the TV on the same channel for a few hours and that should take care of it. That doesn't do anything at all. It seems to be happening more and more now. We are thinking it could mean that we need to change the bulb. Is that a possibility? Thanks!
Answer:
Flicker around the edges? High possibility it being the bulb, if you had it for 1.5-3 years with out replacing it then it could very well be that. Also AC lines can cause a flicker at a certian frequency.

Question : My 32'' Sony LCD TV has a whine/squeal that is very high pitched. What could be causing it?
I got a 32'' LCD TV by Sony in July. By mid-August the TV was producing a high pitched squeal or whine after being on for just 30 minutes. I called warranty repair, and the man replaced the power supply in the unit. About a day later, the noise has returned. What could possibly be causing this in a 2 month old TV?
Answer:
Any TV can develop problems, but a brand new replacement power supply should not fail again in the same manner. Squeals are often times emitted from failing capacitors. Power supplies use capacitors and typically use larger sized capacitors that can and do fail. What it sounds like is that Sony may have gotten hold of a bad batch of capacitors and you are unlucky enough to have received two successive power supplies with those bad capacitors. Contact Sony and have the power supply checked again. It could also be bad capacitor elsewhere in the system or a failing fan.Do not put your faith blindly into a manufacturer's products. Not all Sony products are great nor are they all problematic. I have heard that Sony has had reliability problems with the M4000 series. I do not know if this is your Sony TV model, but I do hope that you will seek out reliable, trustworthy recommendations before your next purchase. Always be skeptical when making large purchases. Companies fortunes do change with time.

Question : My Sony LCD TV just displays solid pink after a brief power interruption. Any ideas?
I still get audio for every channel AND the TV displays menus and channel identifications, just not the actual video from the channels themselves. Furthermore, I’ve tested with another television and confirmed that this is not a cable line issue (everything works fine on the other TV).Anything you know will be very much appreciated!Oh, it’s a Sony MFM-HT205 if that helps.
Answer:
I would try unplugging the tv for about 5 minutes and let it reset to the factory default and plug it back in. If it is still the same. Try calling or emailing Sony. They will probably just tell you to take it to an authorized repair facility to be checked out. There customer service support center is not very helpful most of the time. You might have to replace your tv, due to the price of labor being so expensive nowadays. Hope this will help you out.

Question : I have a large screen Sony LCD tv. For about 3 weeks now I have noticed a blue color across the bottom?
The rest of the tv is perfect..does anyone know whats about to happen?
Answer:
I have no idea what the blue color is, but I'd call whom ever you bought it from and insist on either service or you are bringing/sending the TV back (assuming you purchased from an authorized Sony dealer).

Question : LED vs LCD sony TV advice needed for purchase?
I am Looking to buy and really good TV that has good SD quality and 1080p i have seen 2 the first one is Samsung UE40B8000 40" Full HD LCD TV and the 2nd is Sony KDL40Z5500 SNY KDL40Z5500 i not sure which is better for long lasting and quality?can anyone please give advice?
Answer:
An "LED TV" *is* an LCD TV, just with LEDs for the backlight instead of fluorescents. ( No, there are no "pure LED" TVs - i.e. direct view of the LEDs - unless you're talking about the giant outdoor displays like the ones on the Las Vegas Strip. )You can prove this easily. Go up to an "LED" TV in the store and push on the screen with your finger. You'll find the image will "ripple" out from the pressure just as it does on any other LCD TV. The picture is no more "clear" than any other LCD - you're still looking at an LCD, after all. Nor is there a difference in maximum size - this again is determined by "how big can we make the LCD panel", not by the backlight. If anything, fluorescent-backlight LCDs will remain at the large sizes because LED backlights are more espensive, and the cost difference goes up as the size increases. An LED LCD TV will be thinner than conventional LCD, because the LEDs don't need as much in the way of diffusion. It will produce less heat. It MAY give better colors, but LCD's color issues are in general not caused by backlight issues. An LED LCD TV that uses backlight dimming can do better at shadow detail than a fluorescent backlight without, and an LED LCD that uses selective dimming can do even better (and this can't be done at all with fluorescent), but this tech is not in all LED LCD TVs. LED backlighting does not help with LCD's view angle issues, nor with motion ghosting. LED-LCD will probably last longer than conventional LCD, partly because the set will run cooler, and partly because the backlight inverter in an LCD is a very trouble-prone component - on the other hand it is a cheap and easy repair.

Question : How do I connect a HDMI device to my Sony Bravia LCD TV ?
What TV settings do I need to change to get my HDMI device to be viewed on my LCD TV.
Answer:
Change your input. Usually TVs have several inputs and thus you have to press a button on your remote to scan through each one.

Question : Is it safe to download a movie torrent and watch it on my Sony Bravia LCD Tv using a Sony pen drive?
The manual says it is possible, provided I use a pen drive as mentioned in the list of compatible pen drives for my tv model. But, I was just wondering since torrent files are nothing but pirated, so would my tv face any problems because of that? I know that sony equipments are pretty sensitive.
Answer:
Yes, he's right. They may be invalid format issues with the video file so you cant hear sound/see video, but there is no way it is going to harm your tv. Your tv cant tell if the avi content is pirated or not.

Question : How much should I expect to get off a floor model Sony LCD TV?
They're asking $2,200 and it's been on the floor 8 months. What's a good way to haggle the price down??
Answer:
me personaly i would not buy the tv. think about how long that tv has probably been running. it has most likely been running at least 12 hours a day. if you still want that tv you could probably haggle them down to about $1600. but dont get me wrong about the sony brand. the sony brand is excellent. i have a 26'' sony bravia and it is amazing.
