REGZA
I recently purchased the REGZA 52RV530U LCD HDTV. I am very happy with the performance and picture. The screen size is manually adjustable which I really like. My Sharp Aquos adjusts automatically to the input it recieves. Overall the picture quality is excellent and I believe matches the higher price sets. Fast motion is in no way blurry and I can't see any blurring at all.
Beautiful set I would highly recommend.

Very Good, but not perfect
I bought this to replace one of the Samsung 40"ers I won playing poker (long story). I wanted BIGGER than the 40 and caught this at a good price early xmas eve, so most of my comparison is to the Samsung it replaced. The Good: Bigger is better, much deeper and richer blacks, does not blur with speed ie football game etc, better viewing angle, better anti glare, auto channel scan picks up much more channels and much faster, auto channel scan auto tunes both cable, digital and analog tv signals and locked them in with 1 sweep, deeper and more detailed menu and options. Lots of manual pic size adjustments, 4 hdmi inputs, remote passthru The Bad (or not so good): Colors are not as bright or sharp. Colors are not as 'REAL' ie skin tone etc. Sound system mediocre even with SRS wow, eq and enhancements (I use a very hi end audio system for movies anyway) remote kinda clutery and not friendly and range not good, deep menu and manual also clutery and somewhat unfriendly, fixed stand does not swival, only 1 cable/antenna input, so it is not possible to hookup both a Cable line and an (hdtv) antenna, 1 side input port, but no front port. Lots of manual size and pic adjustments, but the Samsung had auto settings for most and did it very well.. (who wants to go through lots of menu stuff when going from a widescreen dvd to a regulaor dvd) Has a "Game Mode" but it really sucks compared to the Samsung's. Overall I am happy and satisfied with my purchase. The picture comparison to my old Samsung is a wash. Blacks better on Toshiba, Colors better on Samsung, but Toshiba doesn't blur. Features about the same, but Toshiba had more manual adj and samsung more automatic. Last, this TV looks good, but was not the best in the store. The store had approx 40 tv's going all same channel and all of the 120hz pics where better, but some of the normal Samsung and Sony pics where somewhat better. All the other cheaper or 'off' brands like LG Vizio etc clearly had a much worse pic. I purchased this because the pic was certainly good to very good and the price was right $1100 + tax.

Good Picture / bad service
I purchased the 52RV530U in September of 2008 and had no problems at all until July of this year. Fortunately it was under warranty but I have been waiting over a month for a replacement screen. In reading various reviews on the Regza series of LCD sets, there seems to be a lot of problems connected to the screens that occur on or about the time the warranty is to expire. I had been very happy with the performance of this set and the problem seemed to appear overnight. I had planned on requesting a replacement of the set itself but I am now having second thoughts. I wonder if the newer XV and ZV series are any more reliable. I would be curious to know how many more folks have had screen problems.

powers off twice a day
After buying and setting up this set, it powers itself off twice a day at the same times. I made sure the sleep timer and game timer were both set to zero, but still happens. Such a shame because the picture quality was far better than the other sets at the showroom. This is the 2nd Toshiba TV I had go bad, so I probably won't buy this brand again. My other LCD TV is an Emerson and has had absolutely no problems at all. The Toshiba is going back and I'm getting another brand.

Question : How good are the toshiba LCD tv's?
Going to buy my mom a 37" or 42" 720p tv. Not so much worried about the best pic quality, but i don't want some tv like vizio or westinghouse that will break in a year. Toshiba is in between is a little cheaper than most high end brands, and for the most part it seems that people have had good experiences w/ them. What do you think?
Answer:
I have one, its awesome!

Question : Samsung vs Toshiba lcd tv HELP PLZ (best ANSWER?
Samsung 40" 1080p LCD HDTV** (LN40B500)_________________VS________________Toshiba 40" 1080p LCD HDTV** (40RV525R)im going to buy a hd tv to day but i dont know what one to get... both tvs are $699.99 and they both look nice... this is what i want the tv for: 1) gaming, 2) movies, 3) watching tvhere is a site to compare the 2 tvs http://www.futureshop.ca/catalog/compare-result.aspx?ProductIds=10134111,10121903&returnPath=%257e%2 52fcatalog%252fproductdetails.aspx%253fpath%253d780dd1eeacd1c5b7615a40f6b6be5113en02%2526sku%253d101 34111%2526lang%253denand here is what some one send about the Samsung tv.. "Seems like a good TV but we've had issues with the TV speaker...raising the volume past 30 or so causes a constant buzzing sound, loud enough to disturb you while whatching a show. Also we've had it for 20 days now and the color went on the TV a few days go...no more blue...all we see is everything very red/brown and green. Also noticed that the non-HD channels and any channel where there's writing on it, the wrting is fuzzy...e.g. when you turn on the Guide function. Maybe we got a lemon...will try to exchange it and see what happens."
Answer:
While it is good to read customer reviews, you have to take them with a grain of salt. People who have bad experiences with their products are more likely to make postings. So if 1,000 units are sold any only 2 had issues, you'll hear about those 2. But does that make it necessarily a bad product? It could, but you don't know for sure is really the issue. The Toshiba sounds like the better option in that deal though. It has 1 extra HDMI and 1 extra component. So without any extra devices, you can hookup 5 HD sources directly to the Toshiba TV. You can only hook-up 3 to the Samsung. Or you can hook up 3 HDMI to the Toshiba and then have 2 component left for a high quality SD connection for things like an older DVD player, a Wii, etc. But generally, I like the extra inputs the Toshiba offers. Also, it has both Digital Optical Audio and Stereo Audio outputs, whereas Samsung only has the Digital Optical. Stereo Audio output is the Red/White leads. So that can be handy going to older speakers or amps. Its not as good as Digital Optical, but depending on what kind of gear you own, it could be a valuable output. Or as neither TV has a headphone jack, the Stereo audio output is much easier to turn into one (you just get a Y cable for a few bucks). Digital Audio to headphone requires a much more expensive converter box.Frankly, at that price point, the TV I'd be more interested in comparing the Toshiba to would be the LG 42LH30. My main annoyance with that one is the lack of audio outputs on the TV. But if you don't need that (because you're feeding devices directly into an amp or not using an home theatre system), then it might not be an issue. LG rates well in many consumer reviews. At that point, I might actually go to the store and look at the TVs rather than just go from their specs. See which one your eyes like better (just remember to stand back at a natural viewing distance).

Question : On my Toshiba LCD TV there are certain area's where I can see horizontal lines on my screen.?
I bought a 40" Toshiba LCD about 3 or 4 months ago, I noticed about a week ago that on the left most side of the screen there began to show horizontal lines on the screen. They are equally spaced down almost the top half of the screen each extending to a random point straight to the right. It is most noticeable in the far upper left, which can be seen from far away, while the others appear only when I sit close to play xbox. They were not there before, and as an avid gamer they are becoming a bother, I have the warranty on the thing from Geek Squad but I really would rather know if I can quick fix it myself. I read that it might be interference, it's not, I unplugged everything from the sockets save the TV and the lines remained. I messed with every setting, from backlight to contrast in an effort to dull or erase them to no avail. It bothers me when I cannot fix things myself and I would like to have some idea as to what is wrong when the tech gets here (if i have to call him). I'm thinking that it might be something wrong with the backlight, but I honestly don't know how one of these things works! Help!
Answer:
this is a bad panel. Nothing you can do save calling a technician to replace the panel. You may want to take pictures of the problem and e-mail it to the tech. He will need pictures to get toshiba to authorize a panel replacement. This way the tv may stay at your house while the panel is on order.

Question : What cable do I use to connect my laptop to LCD TV?
I have a new Toshiba LCD tv and I'd like to connect it to my laptop and/or netbook.I have an IBM T61 Laptop and Acer Aspire One netbook.Anyone know if I can use the same cable for both or would I need an adapter for the laptop? Does the netbook even support a connection to the tv?Thanks!
Answer:
You have to check and see what your laptop provides for video and audio output. The best cable to use is the HDMI cable if your laptop has one.

Question : What are the best settings for my new Toshiba LCD TV?
I just bought my Toshiba 32AV502U and tried to play my Xbox 360 on it. My only problem is the that there is a bit of a "delay" (lag) between my button presses. I have turned on "Game Mode" or whatever it is, but there still is that little bit of lag that is really noticeable. Any ideas on what I could do to fix it? Should I just go return this TV and get a different kind? Thanks in advance.
Answer:
Hmm....Delays occur due to excessive VIDEO PROCESSING or Upconversion/Downconversions....I would start with making sure the XBox's video output is set to the TV's NATIVE RESOLUTION....If the TV has a Native resolution of 720 (the display panel's actual resolution) then you want the Xbox to output a 720 signal...Then if you have the ability to use HDMI, use it....Now....you're not ONLINE gaming are you? If so, the XBox is just way too busy making an HD picture AND accessing the Online game at the same time...If so, you may be forced to reduce the Video ouput resolution on your XBox even further because it's spending too much time building a picture for your TV set....And that would suck....after all you bought the TV and the XBox for HD Gaming !TVs really do not cause game lag as much as the Xbox does...they can cause MINOR lag if you are outputting a 1080 signal to a 720 TV...the TV would then have to DOWNSCALE the video to fit the TV screen, and that takes a little time...

Question : Which is better a Toshiba or a LG LCD Tv?
I'm getting a new TV for Christmas, so far it's a choice between a 32" Toshiba LCD Tv or a 32" LG Tv and I can't decide which. Can anyone tell me which one they think is better?
Answer:
Toshiba, definatly. I work with large screen TVs on a daily basis, Toshiba have a far better image, and far better customer support. LG used to be quality TVs, but these days are becoming more and more like cheap crap. Avoid if possible.

Question : What are the best sound settings for a 26 inch Toshiba flatscreen LCD HDTV?
I recently got a new Toshiba LCD TV as stated above, model 26AV502R. Its an awesome TV, except the sound seems kind of weird and I'm not sure how to get it to sound right. Some of the bass sounds a bit too strong, but simply turning down the bass or up the treble doesn't seem to fix this issue. What would be the best recommended sound settings for this brand and model of television? Or at least to remedy the bass issue? Thanks for anyone who can help me.
Answer:
Simple....speakers -- OFFSurround sound AMP -- ONOptical Audio cable - Ideal.

Question : Toshiba LCD TV?
Has anyone ever had a Toshiba LCD TV or know anything about them? Specifically, model number 42HL67 ...... We were looking to buy one, but I'd like to know what everyone thinks about them and if they've had any problems with them. Thanks :)
Answer:
I do not own one, but I have repaired a couple. They are a very well built set, and parts are very easy to get from Toshiba. We have sold lots of these sets, the sets I have repaired were not any we sold. These were from one of the big box retailers, whose sets are not as high end as what a dealer can get. When I say dealer, I mean as a Toshiba Authorized Dealer, we get the cream of the crop. Our prices are a bit higher, but so is the level of service you get. Not to mention the level of the product's quality.
