Questions & Answers
Question : Trying to get digital on an LCD Toshiba TV - lousy and keeps freeze framing?
Please tell me EXACTLY what I need to get digital TV without it freezing up. I need to know what to ask for when I go into a store before they end up selling me a bunch of stuff that makes no difference in the reception. I am still going to Analog channels to watch TV, but won't have that option soon! So far this new TV has been a waste of money and very frustrtating! Thanks

Answer:
You need a better antenna. The antenna you need depends on how strong the signals are at your house.Visit http://www.antennaweb.org . Based on your zip code, the site will suggest the proper antenna for your situation using a standard color code. Take that color code to some place that sells antennas.Personally, I would stay away from amplified antennas. In some cases they can actually prevent you from receiving channels. It's best to get an antenna good enough you don't need the amplifier.

Question : Toshiba LCD TV looks fuzzy?
I just bought a Toshiba tv, and every channel looks fuzzy. Do I need to buy a special package to have hd channels? , and my playstation 3 lags when i play like call of duty and some other games, and it doesnt look anything like in the store.. help?

Answer:
You need an HD cable box and either HDMI or component cables to hook the box up to the TV. HDMI being the best. You also need an HDMI cable to hook the PS3 up with.

Question : Why does my Toshiba 42" LCD TV keep switching off when repair-shop says its just fine?
I have recently moved into a new flat and my 42" Toshiba LCD, which was working fine in my old flat, keeps switching off after 2-3 seconds. I sent it to a Toshiba recognised repair shop and they told me the TV worked fine in their shop. Can this have something to do with the power supply of my flat (other appliances works fine), or is the repair guys simply lying to me?

Answer:
Does the TV have a 'sleep timer' on it? That may need adjusting, but to be honest it doesn't sound like it.It may also draw so much current off your mains supply that could also cause it to switch off because it doesn't get enough.Have you actually seen the TV working in their repair shop or are you taking their word for it that it works? Could you ask a neighbour if they would be willing to plug an extension lead into one of their sockets to try it out? Just explain you think your electricity supply may be faulty and ask (nicely) if you could borrow their one for a few minutes. If it still plays up, I would give your local electricity supply company a ring and see if they can suggest anything that may be at fault.Perhaps get your sockets tested.Do you plug the TV into the same socket each time? It could be the socket itself is faulty, so try it with something else like a table lamp.

Question : Faint Vertical Grey Line on Toshiba LCD TV?
I have a 42in Toshiba Regaza X3030D which is over 2 years old, over the past year I have been getting a faint grey vertical line running right down the middle of the TV. Does anyone know what could be causing this?Is there a fix for it without having to send for repair.I may have found away of getting it fixed so will keep an I eye that, thanks for the answer, I was hoping it wasn't gonna be that

Answer:
with out a warranty you are not going to want this fixed. it's the lcd panel itself. You should have called toshiba when you first saw it. Good luck at this late date. Give them a call and explain how long this has been happening and they may help in some way. the price of new panel are usually close to the cost of a new set.

Question : Need help choosing a 32"lcd tv, the Toshiba 32AV502R or the VizioVO320E. Which is better in terms of hardware?
I don't want answers based off of "brand image". I've just been trying to figure out which one has more features and offers more performance but they seem pretty neck to neck. I can get the Toshiba for about 30 dollars less than the Vizio.

Answer:
Between the two the Toshiba is a much better tv. Vizio is a cheap brand and made in China, they also have a none responsive customer service center if you have any problems you want answers for. If you can look at the Panasonic or Samsung they are a bit better. Hope this will help you out.

Question : I have a Toshiba 37" LCD TV and the picture is very dark for 2-3 mn when first turned on. Is this normal?
Toshiba 37" LCD TV #37HL67. Circuit City wants me to bring it in--I would have to get help--not easy.

Answer:
Grammy: No, this is not usual. Get it in while under warranty. This is expensive stuff, so don't fool around with it. Use your warranty!!

Question : Which is better a Toshiba or a LG LCD Tv?
I'm getting a new TV for Christmas, so far it's a choice between a 32" Toshiba LCD Tv or a 32" LG Tv and I can't decide which. Can anyone tell me which one they think is better?

Answer:
Toshiba, definatly. I work with large screen TVs on a daily basis, Toshiba have a far better image, and far better customer support. LG used to be quality TVs, but these days are becoming more and more like cheap crap. Avoid if possible.
