Almost perfect
I love that the QAM tuner can get me some HD channels without a box, but for all the fancy features, they couldn't include a clock? Also, the HD channels take much longer to come up. I don't know if that's because I don't have box yet, but it is annoying. Lastly, a back-lit remote would've been nice.

great as a tv and as a computer monitor
I bought mine from Buydig when they had it for $399.99 with a coupon code and free shipping last month. I am using it as a computer monitor and as a secondary TV at home. Instead of writing in paragraph, I will just enumerate the things I wanted to say...
As a Computer Monitor:
1. It has a native mode, but it will leave about an inch of space/border, from the side and 1/2 inch on the top and bottom. The quality is super crisp! Just like a CRT (with 1080p PC mode on)! 2. Natural mode will stretch it out and leave about a 1/4 inch on each side. and it's still pretty crisp. 3. There is an option in this tv called 1080p PC mode, which makes the letters very crisp and clear. You will need to enable it to make the letters not look distorted or fuzzy. 4. To get to the 1080p computer mode, go to menu > picture settings > noise reduction > turn on 1080p PC mode. 5. by default, it is extremely bright as a computer monitor, so lessen the back light. 6. NO DEAD PIXELS!!!!! 7. Using the 15-pin computer plug, max resolution possible is 1360x 768, and instead of native mode, it has a dot by dot mode (which is essentially native mode.)dot by dot mode will leave a hefty border on the tv which is about 3 inch on the top and bottom and about 5 inches per side. Although the text is as clear as it any CRTs out there, losing about 40% of your monitor's real estate isn't that great. Also in PC ode, you can't change the picture settings. 8. I have been able to use audio over HDMI using an ATI card (4670) 9. To avoid screen tearing when playing PC games, make sure v-sync is turned on your PC.
As a TV:
1. switching through channels is painless, not like some other brands that I've tried, this takes less than a second to load to the other channel. There is a slight delay when switching through HDMI and cable or HDMI to another HDMI which is only about a second. 2. very crisp picture and superb colors. The black levels are one of the best I've seen. and this is coming from a former plasma TV user. 3. The sound is pretty decent. Don't expect heavy bass. no tv has that. that's what home theatre set ups are for. 4. The remote is solid, not fancy. no problems picking up the signal. 5. has a usb port that can play music and pictures. 6. NO DEAD PIXELS!!!!!! 7. I have my Dynalight function off so I can't comment on it.
Power consumption (using a P3 Watt meter) off >1 W (about .3 W for me) on Sports mode (torch mode) ~95 W on Standard ~59 W on movie mode ~55 W on PC mode (using the 15 pin VGA) ~54 W on preference (it seems to be on Sports mode by default) ~95 W
As I've said, it is very bright to use as a computer monitor so what I did was I went on movie mode and customized it by putting contrast and brightness @ 50 and put the backlight @ 0 (yes I put it @ ZERO!) if it's too dark for you put it around backlight 10. With backlight at zero, the Power Consumption is @ 36 W. Backlight @ 10 is about 43 W. The unit on standard mode, is a little warm to the touch when you feel the back panel but it doesn't heat up the room at all. I haven't tested it on input lag but from what I can see, it's pretty good. Game mode helps a lot.

this tv works well with only the tiny rabbit ears I use for it. the sound is weak and I use my home system to bang it up.

WOW !
Like one of the above posters I bought mine from [...] with free shipping. AN amazing TV, I can't add to the previous reviews, only small complaint is I wish the remote was multifunctional, but for the money another WOW ! I tried to order another as a gift for that price and they were sold out ! Still a great TV for 499.00!

Excellent
This HDTV is an excellent value for the price. Perfect for the bedroom. It came fast and was ready out of the box. The picture is crisp, and the sound is much more than I had anticipated. All the inputs make it very easy to plug and play this TV with accessories. The menu itself also has many options that make this TV versatile. I was very satisfied with this product.

Great for a small TV
I wanted one with speakers on front as I'm not planning on using any additional audio - it works great and the picture is sharp and clean. Portable just means the stand folds, but it's light and easy to move for sure.

Nice TV
Amazon delivered this very quickly and it is a good TV / monitor, but pay close attention to the inputs, this is geared to HDMI.

Very pleased with this TV!
Delivered by Fedex 4 days after ordered using free shipping option. Packed well. Used in a dark bedroom so glare is not an issue. Great picture using digital cable (not HD), regular ant/cable connection with coax cable and digital cable adapter. Good sound, good volume, good value for price. Viewing is best when TV is slightly lower than eye level to minimize any darkness. Very happy with this TV. I also have a 19" Toshiba, so I was already familiar with the various controls and settings.

Pretty good, not perfect
Good picture, good sound. I'm not sure it is worth the price premium over other 26 inch LCD TV's. BEWARE, has no headphone jack or audio output, so there is no way to send the sound to an external sound system. Also, has no zoom, although there is a special setting to expand 4:3 TV pictures to fill the screen. Plastic frame has white dots at bottom rim of bezel to produce a trompe l'oeil curved effect -- corny.

19" LCD TV with Built in DVD Player
Customer Review :
OK for broadcast TV, NOT for watching DVDs
We experienced the same problem noted by many other reviewers. The sound volume and quality problem made this unit pretty much useless for watching DVDs, and worse than useless for watching movies in other languages, where speech clarity is of paramount importance.
We upgraded to the 26" model, which was somewhat better. Only after hooking up a Sony soundbar/woofer system were we able to truly enjoy movies.
ONE BIG PROBLEM: these Toshiba models have only a digital coaxial audio output (no HDMI), and it's hard to find a decent, affordable external system that has digital coaxial input; most don't. The Amazon "technical information" doesn't indicate this severe limitation.

Great TV - Happy we bought it
We were a little concerned about the reports of low volume, but hoped it was only that the issue was with use with a cable box. There's a way to change your settings to optimize the sound delivered from your cable company's box [HD in our case] -- check with them. The sound levels are just fine on the TV. All in all, this is a great price for a great product. Lightweight, attractive, and this is our 2nd flat-screen LCD Toshiba, so happy we were with our first.

Quality Product
Has good picture and works great. Speakers aren't the best, but looking to add external speakers to enhance enjoyment.

Sound Quality is Horrible
I would not recommend purchasing this Toshiba TV. I would also recommend checking how loud other Toshiba TV's before purchasing it. That's what I should have done on this one. I purchased this for my bedroom and the sound quality is so poor we cannot even have a fun running in the same room and be able to hear this TV. Everything has to be turned off and even then you cannot be any further than just a few feet in order to hear it.

excellent all in one TV with DVD player
This is a personal sized TV with integrated DVD player that weighs next to nothing and is very compact and very easy to use for the most part. The menu structure for selecting input source is more than a little confusing and when power is cut off to the TV all the settings are lost. Toshiba should have had separate button control to switch from one input to the next but bad user interfaces is pretty much the norm with electronic devices and computers.
But for a small and compact TV and DVD player to use where a larger TV and separate DVD player will not fit this is a great alternative. It has standard VESA mount screws so the base can be detached by removing 2 screws and the TV attached to a wall bracket for use.
Volume is adequate for normal listening but not for a home theater experience. For that it would be best to feed the sound out to a separate amplifier and set of speakers.
I have friends who spent thousands installing a LCD monitor and amp and speakers in their RV when this $200 unit would have served the purpose.

Just ok
This is a pretty nice tv. At least I thought that at first. The picture is good, colors are vibrant and true. It has a good wide viewing angle. The sound, however, is sort of shallow and tinny even with the base turned up to full. My old 32 inch tube television makes this one sound like a transistor radio.
There are two things make be give this tv a 2 star rating and in one instance make me want to return the tv. First ... no analog audio out, no headphone jack. I should have done more home work of this. The only audio output is digital and according to Toshiba the digital output is a pass through. You cannot control the volume of the digital audio output from the tv. That means you have to have a remote for what ever amp you want to use. What would it have cost them? 50 cents to add a headphone jack?
Second problem ... you can't use the mute button without automatically turning on closed captions. The manual says that if you want to mute the tv without turning on closed captions you need to use the volume button and set the set the sound to 0. I use the mute button a lot and to me that's the stupidest bit of programming I've ever seen. My little country cable system is really spotty on sound volumes. Some stations I have to run at 35 volume. It takes a while to get it to go to 0 from 35. I think the engineer who thought that would be a great feature should be fired.
I would send this back if I could.

Questions & Answers
Question : can a Toshiba LCD TV model no.20HIV86 work with interlace or progressive mode when i put a hdmi for the PS3?
when i put the hdmi. i want it to go to interlace if it can with0ut daming my tv or will it only go on progressive mode. whith an hdmi cable for ps3
Answer:
Your set will no doubt accept either interlace or progressive forms. However, the display is always progressive in an LCD TV. If the source signal is interlaced, the set will de-interlace it for display. There is no way to damage your TV as a result of input format selection.

Question : Need help choosing a 32"lcd tv, the Toshiba 32AV502R or the VizioVO320E. Which is better in terms of hardware?
I don't want answers based off of "brand image". I've just been trying to figure out which one has more features and offers more performance but they seem pretty neck to neck. I can get the Toshiba for about 30 dollars less than the Vizio.
Answer:
Between the two the Toshiba is a much better tv. Vizio is a cheap brand and made in China, they also have a none responsive customer service center if you have any problems you want answers for. If you can look at the Panasonic or Samsung they are a bit better. Hope this will help you out.

Question : Toshiba LCD TV?
Has anyone ever had a Toshiba LCD TV or know anything about them? Specifically, model number 42HL67 ...... We were looking to buy one, but I'd like to know what everyone thinks about them and if they've had any problems with them. Thanks :)
Answer:
I do not own one, but I have repaired a couple. They are a very well built set, and parts are very easy to get from Toshiba. We have sold lots of these sets, the sets I have repaired were not any we sold. These were from one of the big box retailers, whose sets are not as high end as what a dealer can get. When I say dealer, I mean as a Toshiba Authorized Dealer, we get the cream of the crop. Our prices are a bit higher, but so is the level of service you get. Not to mention the level of the product's quality.

Question : i have a Toshiba LCD TV that has a TV guide fetcher . it does not recognize my cable box?
i hooked up the g cable and followed all the on screen instructions but it wont acept my scintifac atlanta box. any sugestions?
Answer:
This is a common problem, the cable box and the cable company enter into an agreement with a provider to supply the TV Guide menu. Even though your TV is capable of getting this guide, without the cable company providing the link to the guide, you can't get it. Samsung TV (many of the new ones) are capable of taking the signal directly from the cable (omitting) the cable box and provide your signal, and maybe the guide if the cable company has it as part of their programming. This may be the case for your Toshiba too. There might be a bonus for you when you skip the cable box. Sometimes the TV will pick up premium channels that you are not subscribed to because the box is what is blocking them.Good luck

Question : HI I need help with a TV...Toshiba 26"LCD?
I just bought a 26" Toshiba LCD TV from circuity city. I turn the TV programmed it but it not picking up any channels whats so ever. I thought it was suppose to pick up over the air digital or even analog channels. When it searches for the channels comes back with none found. I am not using Cable or Antennae. I was under impression it would pick up with the built in Tuner...Thanks
Answer:
You still need an antenna to pick up over the air channels. Don't be fooled into buying "HD" antenna's you can use rabbit ears just fine.
