Great TV with many cool features!
The TV/DVD player is everything it said it would be. Great picture and quality. Many auxilary inputs and the DVD player on board free's up a lot of space. Great tv for the bedroom with little space. Would want something bigger for TV viewing in a living room or den. Digital Tuner is slow but effective. The only features it doesnt have are audio out and smart sound volume control. Other than that a great product.

A very nice combo TV/DVD
After about four months of use, I like this TV/DVD player and it fits my needs well with the built-in functionality. This is a very flexible device and I use it in my home office (which is also a bedroom), which is my only work location. For a majority of a work day it is used as a 2nd computer monitor, which comes in very handy with the multiple windows I tend to need open. The size of the monitor at 23" eases the stain. After work I use it as a TV or DVD player and find viewing is good from approx. 10 feet or so. My daughter sometimes guests out on weekends and gets a lot of use out of it. I would give it five stars but the remote is sometimes recalcitrant in activating channels or volume changes, detracting from a seamless operation.

Its Good while it lasts
I bought this product on sale at Circuit City in Oct. '07. I used it to play games and watch movies. I recently moved in to my apartment and when I unplugged my Xbox and hooked up my cable box it fried the HD RGB component inputs. Between parts and labor it would be almost exactly the same price as what I got the TV for. Do not buy this product.

Toshiba 23HLV87
Bought this for the kids playroom. Perfect size. Picture is fine for kids shows and movies. We mounted it on an adjustable/tilt wall bracket. (Without the tilt mount the picture was horrible when watched at an angle from below - lying on the floor looking up). One week after the 1yr warranty expired the DVD would not eject from the player. Unplugging the unit for a few hours fixed the problem. Hopefully it won't happen again.

Great bargain
This TV/DVD combo is a good deal for me. It has a great picture and plays well.

Cinema Series Regza 1080p Full HD LCD
Customer Review :
Signicantly improved from 2 years ago
I will list the improvements I noted from a 47" Toshiba LCD TV I purchased a little over 2 years ago. My existing components (Sony DVD/VHS Recorder, an analog VHS/DVD player & a Blu Ray DVD player (brand new) were moved over to the new TV. 1. Sound levels are now the same when I move from different input sources, including outside anteena. Previously, it was a mess (all different) and for the standard DVD player I had to increase the volume by 50-70% to nearly the maximum sound level. Previously, I blamed the components. Nothing worst than watching a DVD and switching to check sports scores and being blasted away by sound. 2. Location of the HDMI connections on the back are much improved. The older TV had the inputs in the hardest to reach, worst possible location. 3. In the older TV, picture quality from an extreme side angle was blurry and unwatchable, now the picture quality is great from any angle. 4. The oversized remote control is a tad smaller by doing away the mode select buttons. I used them, but won't miss them. It's thinner, weighs less, but the buttons are the same size and same number. It is just better designed. 5. Trust me that the stand is better. 6. Picture quality is better and fast action scenes are flawless. It seems like Toshiba did a really good job with these major improvements as well as some minor improvements I didn't mention. My only complaint is that I wished there was a "CC" closed caption button on the remote like there was on my really old analog TV set. Instead, you have to pull out the manual to figure it out. Usually, I say the heck with it and hence I never learn. If you are a first time buyer, be happy that you waited until now to buy. You are getting a better TV for less.

No problems, excellent value for the money.
Like many of the other reviewers I did some research, and for the technology, this tv is an excellent value. Setup and use is easy, and the picture quality is excellent for all types of input(relative to the type of input)and good sound also. Been using it for just short of 2 months, with no problems. We we are happy with it so far.
If you hook up a blu ray player to it, or any 120hz tv, be sure to check that the blu ray player is configured to send the correct signal to the tv for the fast refresh. The blu ray player we bought was set to default to the lower refresh rate.

Excellent LCD HDTV
We bought this [46"] TV from a big box store in June. We were looking at plasmas, but the reflection problem was a show-stopper for our family room. The Toshiba has no reflection problem day or night. The picture is beautiful. You'll wonder how you lived with your CRT. No jaggies from the usual sources, though some from some 24p movies. Color balance was perfect on delivery; we haven't played with it. We watch from 10-15 feet away, but the picture is clear and bright from 20 feet. Watching from the side.. 45 degrees, there is no distortion. The images are very good in the daytime and awesome at night with the lights turned down. We ultimately bought the 46" size, but in hindsight, I think the larger version (52"?) would have been better, tho more expensive.
The Toshiba has half a dozen aspect ratio options, all available on the remote. We found to our dismay, that a lot of cable/broadcast TV, while digital, is still in the conventional 4:3 format; essentially a square picture with black bars on the side. Forcing it into a wide screen display distorted the images, so we mostly watch channels that broadcast in HD widescreen.
The multi-function remote is complex, but once you get used to it, the necessary controls are easy to manipulate via an on-screen display. It's also lit, which is very helpful at night, when the lights are off. There is also a limited set of controls on the TV itself in case the remote conks out. We weren't looking for that, but it was nice to find.
It has more connections than you'll likely need including multiple HDMI, component, composite, PC, even a USB slot. We have cable coming into the component (Y, Pb, Pr) connection, DVD/Blu-ray through S-video, and PS3 through conventional composite connections. The Toshiba has its own digital audio out connection (Dolby), but there are lots of ways to hook up an external audio source. It sits pretty low on its own stand, so you don't see the cables coming out of the back.
The Toshiba has its own sort of 3d/stero sound system, so audio sounds like it's coming from the side, even though the speakers are just on the bottom. A nice touch -- hard to appreciate looking at the specs.
Some of the reviews mentioned that the shiny frame was a drawback. We found no problem from the frame. It's pretty narrow, anyway. Reviews also warned that store displays would have the brightness turned up, but we didn't find the image much different when we got it home. The Toshiba name on the bottom is lit, but it dims depending on the light in the room.
It's an excellent unit. It seemed when we were looking, that each brand/model TV had some sort of limitation in one of the specs, usually in the number or type of connections; or it was too expensive. There are no limitations on the Toshiba and it's a great price.

Best Bang for Buck vs Sony/Samsung
Pros - Picture is outstanding, easily on of the the best 46" out there. Premium LCD screen at a budget price. Color is off out of the box. Factory settings for green are oversaturated, skintones have a green shade to them. You have to adjust the green in (-13,-11,+7)COLOR MASTER, Color Temp (Medium),(-10)G DRIVE to get it under control, took me some effort but I got them just right without paying for professional calibration.(Don't get Best Buy to do it, they have no clue what they are doing). SRT works pretty good, it won't turn SD into HD but it improves the picture. I left my SRT on Mode 3 Level 1(it has 5 levels of SRT processing in 3 modes-15 deifferent settings), most of the people complaining probably have no clue. Too much SRT will make the picture terrible. SRT will be disabled if you have a 1080p/1080i video source. If you have an upconverting DVD player you need to disable it to get SRT to work. Have not observed artifacts in the 120Hz smooth mode like can be seen on the Samsungs.
Cons - Don't like the menus on the screen. Don't like the remote. A power outage caused my HDMI settings to be messed up(orange screen - really weird). Sent an e-mail to Tech Support and got the problem resolved, unplug TV and video source from the wall for 5-10 min to reset it. Color controls in Color Master allow for +/- 30, but using anything more +/- 15 will introduce artifacts into the picture, at 30 the picture will be unwatchable. Other then that not much problems.

Toshiba 46XV545U Regza 46" LCD TV
I researched 46" LCD TV's for six months before buying. My first choice was a Samsung but I couldn't overlook the price difference. My purchase of the Toshiba was the best choice I could have made. This is one of the best TV's I have ever seen. Shipping was free and arrived in less than 5 days. The UPS driver even helped me carry it into the house. Setup was easy. I was watching HD TV in less than 30 minutes. If I were to buy again, this seller would be my first choice.

Great Quality at a Great Price!
I recently purchased a Toshiba 42AV500U 42" LCD Flat Panel Television, and I was blown away by the performance and quality. Every channel looks good, and the HD channels are spectacular. The definition is sharp, the color is rich and the sound is crystal clear. I'm considering buying a 26" for the bedroom, and will definitely look at Toshiba first. I am very happy with this television, and for those who want high quality, a nice ample screen size and are on a budget, let me highly recommend this television as the one to own.
5 Stars!

Can't go wrong for the money
Bought their 42" Regza last year for around $1,100. Just bought this newer (updated) version on sale for $798 locally (American TV). Great value. Excellent all around. 720p? Have seen their 1080p Regza and can't tell the difference. Connections were not a concern for me as it is to be used JUST with HD satellite.
Doubtless the switch to all 1080p has affected the marketplace and the 720's are being dumped. My old eyes will never know the difference on a 42 inch set.

Great Value
I've had this tv for a few weeks now and am very pleased. I've had more expensive LCDs previously (Sony and Samsung), and personally I don't notice a difference in quality. Easy to use features, sound is good, looks good. Only downfall is that there are only 2HDMI inputs.

Solid, good-looking TV
We got this TV for $1386 (w/ shipping) after having missed the $1199 blowout sale. We're nonetheless very happy as the TV has delivered excellent picture quality with no hassles/issues and a well-designed sleek black frame around screen.

Toshiba 52 inch LCD TV
This is an excellent TV and I was able to purchase it for $1200 delivered. The menus are a little difficult until you learn them, but very nice after you do. The sound system is outstanding, and the picture has several modes to choose from depending on what your source is. This is an outstanding bargain at anything close to $1200. Consumer Reports had it rated high at $1900. Toshiba is another one of those companies that is experiencing a slow economy, so look for a reduced price on any model you choose.

A solid TV with nice picture
I purchased this TV about 10 months ago. It has been working great. It has a good appreance. The illuminating logo is an extra feature. It's picture quality is great and it actually makes my regular DVD movies look better. The only thing that is not so good is the sound. It is kind of soft. Over all it is a great product.

No football for Thanksgiving but stripes are vivid now fixed
From great on March 09 to rainbow stripes seven months later on Thanksgiving Weekend 09. Rainbow stripes on the right side show up within a few seconds of turning the TV on. Checked HDMI input from Receiver playing blue ray disc, on cable box directly, and on each of the HDMI inputs. No difference. Used different cable: still have stripes. Stripes are very sharp and clear and take up half the screen. Only half of the screen of the football games, NCIS, basketball games, House and any DVD/Blue ray disk is visible. Even unplugged set and plugged back in but to no effect.
Phone number for Toshiba customer support is all voice response, no real people, even though the recording says they are available 24 hours, 7 days a week. Based on my zip code, I was referred to a local contracted TV repair place. I'll see if anything happens on 4 day weekend.
Until this episode, the TV was wonderful but I try to wait 9 months before rating a product.
UPDATE 1 week later: HMO - Toshiba TV repair much the same. The local TV repair had to call Toshiba Technical Services and go over the problem. If Toshiba Technical Services agrees, they send an ok to proceed with repair. Local TV repair orders the part. In this case, the panel (glass picture screen to me) was bad and had to be ordered. Estimated time: 1 more week.
UPDATE Returned repaired after almost 4 weeks Picture excellent. Back to normal. Hope this lasts long time.

Amazing TV for the price...
I purchased this TV in early February, so I've had a few months to break it in. Here are my thoughts. When hooked up to a true HD signal 720p or 1080i/p the picture is crisp and clean. I adjusted the color settings to make it appropriate for my living room, something I suggest that EVERYONE does. Sometimes it seems that the whole picture will move except for one part of the screen, I haven't figured out if that is a TV issue, or a source issue. I have to say I am a little disappointed when I watch a SDTV from my DirecTV DVR, and because of that I don't watch much TV in SD. Call me a HD snob, but the HD picture is SOOOO much better. Like many people have said, the sound isn't great, but it isn't terrible either. I run all the sound through a H/K reciever, so that doesn't really affect me. DVD's look great, Blu-Ray on my PS3 looks amazing.
Video: 4 out of 5 Audio: 3 out of 5 Value: 5 out of 5
I am quite happy with my purchase. The delivery guy even helped me get it on its stand before he took off. If you are waffling about this item, waffle no more and just get it, you won't regret it, besides football season is already here, Go Niners!!!

Question : Connect IBM Thinkpad Laptop to Toshiba LCD TV but screen is blue?
Hi. I've tried linking my IBM Thinkpad Laptop to my Toshiba LCD TV via a VGA cable. The image appears on my TV screen, but the whole screen is blue. I've tried changing the resolution on the laptop but that hasn't made any difference. I've been told I may need to download an updated driver but I haven't a clue what I would need. Can anyone help? The thinkpad is running with Windows XP if that means anything.ThanksJ xxxxxxx

Question : I have a 52' toshiba lcd tv. A friend gave it to me because it got a little wet and sparked.?
What can I do to check simple things. I checked the fuses is there anything anybody else can think of. I know a little but with these circuits I am way out of my league. Not much money to spend now so didnt know any easy things to check

did he give you the TV for free? is it completely dried out from the water? if there are shorts inside of it, you might find it very insurmountable to try and fix. also, it could also present a fire hazard. i really hope that you didn't pay anything for this, cuz it sounds like it might end up sitting on your curb.

Question : What are the best sound settings for a 26 inch Toshiba flatscreen LCD HDTV?
I recently got a new Toshiba LCD TV as stated above, model 26AV502R. Its an awesome TV, except the sound seems kind of weird and I'm not sure how to get it to sound right. Some of the bass sounds a bit too strong, but simply turning down the bass or up the treble doesn't seem to fix this issue. What would be the best recommended sound settings for this brand and model of television? Or at least to remedy the bass issue? Thanks for anyone who can help me.

Question : Why does my Toshiba 42" LCD TV keep switching off when repair-shop says its just fine?
I have recently moved into a new flat and my 42" Toshiba LCD, which was working fine in my old flat, keeps switching off after 2-3 seconds. I sent it to a Toshiba recognised repair shop and they told me the TV worked fine in their shop. Can this have something to do with the power supply of my flat (other appliances works fine), or is the repair guys simply lying to me?
Answer:
Does the TV have a 'sleep timer' on it? That may need adjusting, but to be honest it doesn't sound like it.It may also draw so much current off your mains supply that could also cause it to switch off because it doesn't get enough.Have you actually seen the TV working in their repair shop or are you taking their word for it that it works? Could you ask a neighbour if they would be willing to plug an extension lead into one of their sockets to try it out? Just explain you think your electricity supply may be faulty and ask (nicely) if you could borrow their one for a few minutes. If it still plays up, I would give your local electricity supply company a ring and see if they can suggest anything that may be at fault.Perhaps get your sockets tested.Do you plug the TV into the same socket each time? It could be the socket itself is faulty, so try it with something else like a table lamp.
